Seyyal cringed slightly at the description of what an accident would be like if Lottie messed up the swap. But she had confidence her friend would not mess it up- and if she did... well, she probably wouldn't know.

At least she had been swapped by Lottie before, so the sudden change in locations didn't mess with her head quite so much. But it was still always a bit of a lurch, needing a moment to reorient herself. Seyyal took a few breaths and then looked around to ground herself in her new location. Setting the astonishing appearance of the magic barrier and the sudden appearance of music aside for the moment, Seyyal shook her head at Lottie and pointed to her ear. No sound. She couldn't hear her.

But she knew Lottie needed to get in too. Rather than waste any of their precious time searching for another target she reached down to slip her hand into one of the pouches at her belt. With a practiced flourish she pulled out a handful of sand and cast it into the air before her. A flash of sunlight hit the newly formed blade as she caught it and held it up for Lottie to see clearly. Then lobbed it up in the air so it would stick in the ground where the mage could see it, still within the magic bubble. "Hope that's good enough Lottie. Really don't want to be searching too far without you."

Lottie scanned the horizon, trying to make out Seyyal when a glint of light caught her eye. She would give her friend a wave, then spotted a small thrush startled by the blade as it landed. Not wasting this opportunity, Lottie swapped positions with the little bird before it could fly too far off. In a flash of light, she too was now inside and gently floated down to the ground close to her friend.

"Hey we both made it!" called out Lottie, whom then turns to attention to the shimmering magical wall now visible "Ah so that is the barrier? Phew this is pretty big... who would go about making a- huh? hey do you here something Seyyal? Is that... music?"

Lottie then tilts her head as she catches wind of the distant tune. Strange they where unable to hear it until now but then it must have been something about the barrier that kept the music inside and away from prying ears. Something that she thought warranted proper investigation.

"Huh... okay so what is the plan now? Go check things out and see what is here?"
asked Lottie as she quickly dusted her dress off of loose dust and dirt.

Not exactly what Seyyal had expected, but close enough. She watched as the startled bird was suddenly swapped out for her friend and rushed over to make sure she made it through intact. Magic was weird sometimes, after all.

She had been just about to laugh and remind Lottie they didn't have time to gawk too much at the bubble when Lottie mentioned the music. She'd heard it of course, but ignored it while focusing on getting her friend inside the bubble. Now they both could wonder at it's existence.

"Yeah," she nodded, "we should see about this music- maybe it has something to do with the bubble. Or the people playing it might know what's going on." She helped Lottie get settled and then began creeping forward again with her- this time actually making forward progress as the music gradually became louder as they drew closer towards some kind of camp. Large sledges were arrayed in a circle around it and that plume of smoke in the sky was definitely coming from the camp. "Let's be real sneaky here, Lottie. If they are making that bubble they must have some really strong mages or something," she whispered and guided Lottie in a slow circle around towards a side where hopefully they might be blocked from sight by the local scrub brush.

It was weird. There was something almost familiar about the music but... it didn't feel right. It wasn't something they were used to hearing in the various taverns or from wandering performers they'd seen around. Actually it kind of... hurt the mind a little bit to focus on it.

"Real sneaky... got it." replied Lottie in a hushed tone as she and Seyyal creeped along what cover was to be had.

Now that the two of them where closer, Lottie tried to look past the brush at the strange sledges surrounding the source of the smokey plume. Even at this distance however she was unsure what exactly they were nor could suspect what their purpose was. As they approached the mysterious music drones inside a bit more inside her head as if her head was a ringing bell. As foreign as the tune was... there was strange familiarness to it that she just can't pin down. Its like... she heard bit before but somewhere else...

"Ugh... its hard to focus with this... noise..." quietly complaining as the rubbed on of their temples, then looks out and notices something.

"Hey... do you see that? Is that someone over there?" pointed out Lottie to what she thought was a person... or perhaps an object in the vague shape of person? Her position didn't exactly give her a great view of whatever it might be.

Seyyal too was clutching her head a bit as the strangely off music grew louder. Between that and the strong feeling of danger in her gut and now apparently a person within sight Seyyal's hair stood up on the back of her neck. They needed to act fast if this was another magical effect.

A trap? No. How could anyone expect a person to get through that barrier.

"I see them Lottie. I'm worried about this music. We can't wait any longer, let's go as quietly as we can but speed is more important. Do you have anything to block that music out?" She asked as she reached into her belt pouch again to draw the sand for her swords once more.

With that she made a dash towards the figure, keeping low as she ran hopefully to avoid making it too obvious.

"Uhhh... I... hold on..." Lottie knew that she didn't have any spell that she could cast to deafen the music. Well aside from her bubble shield blocking out some of the noise though it would make the person inside unable to move and defeats the purpose.

Thinking about what she had on her pack... she did have a bundle of gauze in her pack which could be torn off and used as makeshift ear plugs. That outta work right?

"Yeah." she says as she tears earhole size stripes of cloth from the gauze and hads a few to Seyyal "Stuff these into your ears best you can. It won't block out the music but it can help muffle it. Not much but it might help."

After stuffing her ears with the bits of gauze the best she could, she hurries close to Seyyal while trying to keep as low to the ground as possible. Following her leader's lead, she readies her wand in her hand and waits to she how Seyyal responses to the figure. Whatever happens, she is ready to back Seyyal up.

Seyyal paused just long enough to try stuffing the cloth into her ears and make sure Lottie was ready again before springing to action. It had been a little time since she'd truly gotten to stretch herself, and this was a perfect opportunity.

The figure had little time to react before Seyyal had sprung upon him, knocking his legs out from under him with the side of one blade and holding the other one near enough to his neck to see she meant business. The man let out a gasp as his legs were taken out but quickly stiffened and drew silent.

Unfortunately two figures sat up from the grassed to either side of the Lioness and her captive before Seyyal could do anything to warn Lottie.

And still that music rang out. Despite the cloth and gauze, it only worsened as they drew closer. A pulsing headache and even faintly dancing lights passed across their vision. But that song... That was definitely... no, it couldn't be. Lottie probably would have recognized it as one of the songs from the recent talent contest on Manta Carlos?

Seyyal was as efficient as ever knocking out the person shortly after sweeping them off their feet. Yet as they came closer and closer, Lottie found herself becoming more distracted by that music playing in the background despite having plugged her ears beforehand. There was something strangely familiar about the music but she couldn't quite pin down where she could have heard it at the moment. As she tried to recall, she felt herself grabbed from behind be some unknown assailant.

Lottie let out a quite eep but a brief struggle but the grip around her was only tightened. Upon noticing the other person whom seems to be making their way to her friend, Lottie concentrated her magic and in flash she swapped with the other assailant going for Seyyal. Now free, she spins on her heel and holds out her wand to see a confused goon bear hugging his equally confused friends. Before they could rationalize their predicament Lottie out two arcane bolts and in a one-two blow knock each of them to ground upon striking them both in their noggins. Seeing as they didn't get up, Lottie let out sigh and turned to Seyyal.

"That was close! We need to find the source of that music first before it overwhelms us!" spoke up Lottie, raising her voice so that Seyyal may hear her over the cloth wads in their ears. Soon after saying that she realized why the music was so familiar! It was one of the songs they played at the music festival at Manta Carlos awhile back! That... that shouldn't be possible? Right now she can't afford to think how it is this song ended up in their world, they needed to put a spot to it first.

Seyyal openly guffawed at the 'cute couple' of hugging goons and raised a hand to high-five Lottie. "You're right! It's really hurting my head being this close already!" She called back, also trying to be heard above the muffling effects of the cloth.

Since the random goons had been dealt with she gestured for Lottie to come with her as she led the way into the encampment. But something was very, very wrong. There was no group of wandering musicians playing their instruments around a fire like she'd expected. Heck, there wasn't even more goons waiting to spring a trap on them. There was just a small rock, with smooth holes bored into it arranged in some kind of circular pattern, laying right dead center in the camp. With the sound of music coming right from it.

"There! Lottie, we have to destroy whatever that is!" She called out once more before diving forward to try stabbing one of her swords into the object"

Lottie followed her friend to the source of the music and instead of the minstrels that she was expecting, she instead found the source to be some sort of strange stone at the camp's center. Just looking at it made her head recoil to advert her gaze for a moment. When called upon to help destroy it in the hopes of stopping the music, Lottie nods and readies her wand.

"Alright on it!" cried out Lottie as they charge their spell, holding back her magic as they wait for Seyyal's strike and sees what happens then before unleasing her magic.
