"I guess I should have offered you to go up to the mountains with me then."

When Trephas said that, the only thing that crossed Lex's mind was how glad she was that he hadn't. Considering how much it had taken out of her to hold up just enough rocks to protect her and Trephas, she didn't think she could have held on as long with an extra person to protect.

"Why did the dragon decide to kill you?"

At Eben's question Lex turned her eyes to Trephas, curious herself. She was a bit surprised to find him aready looking at her, but there was no change in the curiousity of her face to betray her thoughts as she waited for her reply.

Trephas felt Eben's eyes and Lex's eyes on him. He closed his eyes as he reached down and grabbed hold of a pouch and he took out a red ball, and he opened his eyes while throwing it into the air and catching it. "Well let's, I was minding my own business, like juggling, how I normally do, then a dragon popped up, liked my entertainment, till it was hungry, and decided to eat me for obviously wanting a snack." He explained, putting the red ball back to where he got it from.

"I... see." Eben said quietly, pulling his white cape around himself. You decided to entertain a dragon, Eben thought to himself, finding it a bit funny how his cousin would try to entertain a dragon. I guess it's how he handles things, no wonder why the mountains are off limits in less your in a group.

"But now that's over." Trephas said.

"Lex, what were you doing around the mountains?" Eben asked.

Somehow, she wasn't surprised that that was how the dragon had decided to attack Trephas. It seemed to fit well into his characteristics. It made her chuckle. She could just immagine Trephas entertaining the huge dragon by juggling.

"Lex, what were you doing around the mountains?"

Lex grinned and shrugged, immediately regreting the motion. She placed her hand gently on the back of her head to remind herself that the wound was there. "Well, long story short, I have really good eyesight, and I saw the dragon chasing Trephas, and decided to go and help. Two minds are always better than one." she could have lied, said something like she was exploring or being adventurous, but the truth of the matter was, had she not seen the dragon attacking Trephas (though, from a distance she hadn't known it was him) she probably never would have gone up there. But suffice to say, she helped her friend stay alive, and she was ok with that for an end.

Eben looked at Lex for a bit, while she spoke, then he smiled. "Well, I'm happy my cousin is still alive, if you hadn't helped him..." He said and he looked at Trephas, who staring at him back with a glare in his eyes, but Eben just smiled. "I don't think I could deal with another death in the family."

Trephas glared at Eben, only because Eben was saying something about death, he knew Eben hated how death works, how people die, and because he didn't really like how Eben was smiling. his cousin has been through a lot, and knows too much about everyone he meets, but, he knew that Eben couldn't tell Lex's history, only because Eben didn't know her well enough.

"I think I should leave now, I have a class starting soon." Eben said. "Well, it was nice meeting you Lex, and it's good to see both of you... alive, so goodbye for now, I think I'll run into both of you some other time." He said bowing slightly then turned on his heel and walked to the doors and left.

Trephas watched as his cousin sunddenly decided to leave, and as his cousin slipped through the door. "Eben is sure acting a little strange, since he got here I think." Trephas said, sitting on the bed.

Lex watched the odd boy leave with a quirk of an eyebrow. "Well, that was an interesting meeting..." she glanced at Trephas shrewdly, "I hope my mind didn't scare him away." She wasn't stupid, and actually fairly well at guessing. Not that she knew Eben's power fully, but by the way he was acting, she was guessing it had to do with the mind.

She pulled her knees to her chest, placing her head in her hands. Her head hurt, and it wasn't fair, but she didn't voice her complaint. "Eben seems nice." she said cheerily, voice slightly muffled by her hands.

"He can't read minds. He can only see your past, but sometimes he can't see it, sometimes it's always blurry for him, but only sometimes. But how he acted, I bet he only felt the pain of you holding up the rocks or the pain when I was whammed int othe rocks." Trephas said, and he looked over at Lex.

"Though yes, Eben is nice, and polite, sometimes, it's how the Bane family is, polite and loyal to anyone, and they help anyone who is in need of it most of the time." He said running a hand through his hair. "But Eben can be in horrible moods, at times when he wakes up."

Somehow, Lex felt like there was something more to Eben's mood in the morning than what Trephas was saying, but she didn't remark on it. As he spoke about Bane's being polite all the time, a question settled in her head. For a moment, she contemplated asking it, but wasn't sure how he'd take it. She decided she might as well ask, instead of having the question bother her. "So are you just being polite to me?" she asked, glancing up at him for a moment, turning her head so that it was resting sideways in her hands so that she could see him.

She didn't mean to put him on the spot or anything, she was simply curious, and it wasn't in her nature to cover a question just because it wasn't socially acceptable.

When Lex asked the question he looked at her, his eyes dull and boring. He had to think about how to answer, he thought it was a strange question, but he thought it would be best to reply in some way. But he didn't really know how.

"I... I am how I am... I guess I have no better way of saying, I guess there are times when I'm not polite, but that's when I feel like playing small tricks on people." He said, truly not knowing if he said the right thing, and the right way to say it, he didn't have any other way to answer.

Lex smiled softly, closing her eyes for a moment. She had a splitting headache, and she wished it would go away. She remained with her eyes closed, fighting off her throbbing head. "I'm sorry Trephas...That was an awkward question. My brain's not firing on all synapses right now..." she opened her eyes to look at him calmly, eyes dull, a little bit with pain, but mostly because of her brain's refusal to work under the circumstances. No matter what she tried, there was really nothing to be done about her brain. It was as stubborn as she was.

Trephas gave off a slight smile, and he looked at the floor a bit. "It doesn't matter if it was an awkward question, you were curious and I answered it for you." He said in a boring tone. He layed down and turned over to look up at the ceiling. The white boring ceiling, he thought, not liking how the ceiling was white and plain, on his ceiling in his dorm he had poster's upon poster's of random things like Final Fantasy 7 poster's, Stargate SG-1 poster's, and many other random poster's, but he has not a single sport poster, as he hates sports.

"The ceilings very plain." He said, staring up, still annoyed by it. "They need something to make it look better."
