This was going to be awkward.
A blonde woman dressed in lots of pink waited for her old flame. Her childhood sweetheart came back after so long. She had given up a few years ago in favor of acting upon her polyamorous desires. She wasn't necessarily against taking Chris back, but before they could figure out their relationship she had to tell the truth. There was something she hadn't shared with him while he was away in America. She knew he had been working hard (Though she held her suspicions about his activities at times), and she was afraid. She also underestimated just how much of a workaholic he was.
The truth was Abia Defan had a child. No, not Theodore Hudson. She birthed a child....and it was Chris'.
She knew it was him because it happened when she was only with him. They embraced one another thirteen years ago. They were both madly in love young adults, and they chose to express that in an adult fashion. But somehow protection failed them because months after Christopher went away, Abia found out she was pregnant. She couldn't believe it at first; she spent the first few months trying to write off her symptoms as her just being ill or having an irregular period. However, when she began to put on weight, the reality hit her like a brick to the face. Not wanting to abort her lover's child, she went through the steps necessarily to ensure her baby's well-being. She did this all while attending college.
It was hard being a single mother, but being rich alleviated some of that stress. When she went into labor and had Angelica, she elected not to inform Chris that he had left her with a child. She was scared and paranoid about what he would think. Would he not want to come back? Would he be disinterested in fatherhood? Would he complain about being tied down so soon? That combined with her own struggles on her unknown sexuality put a lot of pressure on her. She kept her mouth shut and wrote nothing about it in her letters. The woman buried herself deep in work and motherhood.
Now he was back after so many years and he...he still didn't know. His daughter was thirteen years old now, and she did not know her biological father. It was time to fess up. Sometime ago, she sent a letter to him out of frustration. The fact that her lover left her alone for so long made her angry. She wrote a terrible threat to him and sent it without thinking. He arrived almost immediately after that. When she heard his voice once more, she was stunned. What now? The female couldn't just let him come over to her house; there was no way he wouldn't notice the two children running about alongside the guards. She had to tell it to him straight but not overwhelm him.
Why was she so stupid thirteen years ago?
Abia glanced behind her. It was hard to believe that the same restaurant they went to as teens was still here. It brought her good memories. She wondered if they could share more memories together, or if their relationship was too far from being repairable.
