"Nothing to worry about, huh?" Atom murmured under his breathe. Normally when someone says that, they are just trying to be 'strong' and avoid having others worry about them. As much pain as she seemed to be in at the moment couldn't have just been something small. Atom knew this. But for now they had something bigger to worry about before they got to that. How to get down? Clearly there was something wrong with her plan to get down, even if Atom didn't understand a few of her words, he was able to deduce the fact that she was worried about something going wrong. She seemed insistent on her pain going away or at least being manageable. She even reinforced the notion with a smile. He had to get that off his mind too if he was going to figure out how to get out of the current situation.

"Can I use magic?" Atom said aloud. "Sorry, no I can't." He responded with a look of disappointment. True it wasn't his fault that He was unable to use magic but she seemed a like she may have been a little excited that she met another magic user due to her reaction to Atom's powers earlier. Though it did occur to Atom that she said she wanted to go up this time instead if down. Did she want to get back to the rooftops?

Trying to explain his powers at a time like this would prove to be a waste if time since they weren't exactly in a safe position. Hopefully she would understand that he wasn't using magic like she was since her English is obviously limited.

She placed her hand where he'd created the gloves, and gave him an insistent look.

"Magic. Those gloves. Do the thing to make the gloves, but make a way up. Climb up much shorter Ck safer than climb down."

She awkwardly half crawled backwards, trying to give him room to do his thing. In all honesty, she wasn't looking forward to what came next. If he could make some sort of handholds for them to climb up with, she was going to have to use her arm, which was going to hurt. Though she could just use La'Ih to run up the side of the wall. Duh.

"Why don't you call magic? Sorry, why don't you call it magic? Is it called something else? Do you not know magic?" She asked him, sating her curiosity while she waited for him to do his thing.

She placed her hand where Atom used the brick for his gloves. Atom could tell before when she pointed to the wall that she wanted him to do something to get them up to the roof but he couldn't do magic. He assumed she was expecting something spectacular, nothing short of a miracle. But clearly that isn't the case. Well now that it was up to him, he would have to take a moment to think this out a little further. True he could pretty much make just a matter of something of the sort, but Atom can't take too much of the materials from the building or else he'll risk compromising the structure of it. What to do?

With his hands on his temples and his eyes closed, he began to think. As he did so, the young lady began to speak to him. He didn't answer her quute that fast as he was still thinking. Upon opening his eyes, he made his move before even making a response. He shifted in the net trying to get in a good position next to the brick wall. He placed his hand on a higher brick and dissolved it without much effort. But he stopped just after grasping the open area in the wall firmly with his hand and looked back at her. "Do you need any assistance climbing up?" Atom asked her with a completely straight face. He didn't ask her this because she was a girl, nor was it because if her petite stature, but more because she was just in what seemed like intense pain a moment ago. He didn't want her to strain herself with the climb.

She smirked.

"What, can I not go up just because of a sore arm? La'Ih!"

Her body dissolved, leaving only a vague, ghostly impression of it formed from her magic. She ran up the side of the building, and dismissed the effect once she reached the top. It was an odd feeling, her body pulling itself back together.

"Do you need assistance climb up?" She teased him. She wasn't actually offended by what he'd said, and in fact she'd felt quite touched when he'd made the offer. That being said, she wasn't going to let go of such an easy opportunity to tease him so easily. She'd decided she liked this man, and wanted to know more about his glove thing that apparently wasn't magic.

"So, why not magic? Why isn't that magic? Looks like magic for me."

She really was curious about that. Considering the fact that she hadn't sensed anything from it, she was willing to consider the fact that it might not be magic, but that only served to intensify her curiosity. If not magic, what was it?

Hearing Atom's offer seemed to spark something in the girl. Her demeanor changed into something playful and fun with a hint of a competitive side. Her very body changed before him as if she was a ghost all this time. Something he had never seen before. Under the moonlight her body seemed to sparkle or glisten as she became more translucent. Atom was truly amazimed by this but that was nothing compared to his upcoming feelings. She bursted up the wall like it was nothing and with great speed. The finess she showed was unfathomable and like nothing a normal human, even with most abilities, could do. Though Atom wished he could have had abilities like that, he was just as happy with what he was able to do. Almost endless possibilities with his ability.

A smile began to appear on his face as this spontaneous, upbeat, cheerful young lady gave him a sense of wonder again. At a time like this, it was crucial to Atoms 'recovery' from his depressive attitude from earlier.

Atom began to climb up, making another place to stabilize himself with every movement forward. This took him a bit longer than previously expected because he had to choose the right bricks to change otherwise this building would be nothing more than paper waiting to be blown in the wind. Upon making his way to the top, he stopped at the edge to sit as he was before. His kegs dangled over while his back slouched. The light from the moon was lightly shaded due to a small cloud passing by it. The circumstances seemed to be different this time, however. He was happier.

As he sat and gazed off into the distabce, he thought of her repeated question. After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke. "Well what I can do isn't magic. True it is a magical thing, but its not actual magic. This entire island consists of those who have special gifts, abilities that make them all unique in their own way. My abilities are more or less genetic." He finished as he looked back at the girl. She was to his left but a little further behind him. He knew this wasn't a sufficient explanation but he left it open for her to ask specific questions. That way her curiosity could be satisfied more thuroughly.

Seeing him sitting on the edge of the building stirred a mote of curiosity within her. He seemed so much different from before, even though almost nothing had changed. It was a good difference, but she couldn't work out where it had come from. If he'd been scared or upset, she would of understood, but this... This was confusing. Oh well, he'd answered her question, and that's all she really cared about right at this minute.

"Ar-bee-lee-tees." She repeated, letting the word roll around in her mouth. She liked the way it felt, and said it again. "Abilities. Abilities. You keep abilities? Do you all keep abilities instead of magic? Or do some humans keep magic, and other abilities? Do some keep both magic AND abilities?"

She sat down cross-legged beside him, and waited for a response from the curiously morbid man.

"Well..." Atom started as he turned ever so slightly towards her. "There are those who are adept in the art of magic. However, you are the first I've seen first hand. From what I know from books and teachings, there are those who have different types of magic. Types that I can't even begin to explain to you." He explained. He glanced over to the horizon and he continued. "People like me, with abilities, can do a wide variety of things. Some can fly, generate electricity, sense the feelings of others, or even be completely clairvoyant. I haven't heard of any that wield both together but there is always Some one wlout there that can do things we hadn't thought possible." Atom stopped and looked her in the eye. He saw the wonder, curiosity, confusion, and interest that she felt. Of course he didn't have all the answers, but he had so much to share from what he had learned. A single night couldn't be enough to time to show his knowledge but be didn't have any intentions on sharing all of it anyways.

He looked into the sky and remembered briefly the reason he was on the roof in the first place. The ivory light of the moon slicer through the darkness like the holy knights blade. He let out a sigh and began to look away before he realized, she was still hurt. "How's your arm by the way?" He asked, debuting from the topic at hand. He figured this took higher priority than something that can probably be explained by anyone.

She opened her mouth to ask another question, then paused to consider his.

"Not bad." She lied. "Will just need ice. I can fix it myself when swelling stopped."

It was a nice night. She hadn't had time to see it when she'd been running around before. Not that she regretted that, but she was glad she'd gotten this chance. The stars and moon were so interesting, there wasn't any sort of equivalent to them back where she came from. She was tempted to share that, but there was another question pressing on her mind.

"Why are you, er, were you up here?" She asked, her tone slightly gentler than the bubbly curious one she would usually slip into. She had a sneaking suspicion why he might have been up here, and if she was right, this situation required tact. Something she didn't have a lot of if she was going to be honest. Even softened as it was, her voice still sounded more cheerful then sensitive.

The girl answered Atom's question without much hesitation. He couldn't tell whether she was truly alright or not but he couldn't force her to do anything about it even if it was messed up. All he could really do was take her word for it. This wasn't his first time dealing with someone like this but she has completely different tells. He only just met her, there's no way he could figure her out that quickly.

There was a light pause but eventually the question inevitably arose. She wanted know what he was doing in the roof in the first place. He knew this would come up but he true his best to avoid it but unfortunately it was futile. Atom sighed heavily and turned back towards the horizon before him. His head hung low while he sat in silence.

A small hole just above the petite young lady opened up. It was dark, like looking into a black hole. Nothing happened for moments until a single photo floated out of it. Drifting slowly towards the girls lap. Upon the photo was Atom and his ex-wife, Axel. "We just got divorced not too long ago. The love of my life gone and with someone else now." Atom said with a low voice. "There's nothing I can do to get her back and I know this all too well. I've lost all motivation to do anything anymore. I don't even want to go back to college. I can't bare to see her face." He shuttered. A single tear running down his cheek. He was slowly slipping back into despair. He could feel its cold touch on his skin. It was deeply horrific.
