"Perhaps not" Diam shrugged, "Though I am not certain of your own traits."

"There were last I checked. It is not impossible that this has changed while I was not watching." The small vampire chuckled at his own joke. "Good. Keep learning. Knowledge is one of the few things that does not deteriorate over time."

"Yes, Dolls. more often ornamental then recreational. It was a profession for many of my years, but now I continue their creation because I enjoy it. I might call it a way of maintaining sanity, but that's a bit more credit then necessary."

He'd hum in thought. "Doing something you like.....it is good for the mind," he'd tilt his head. "I read, buy lots of books, I don't need much, so my money goes to them," he didn't even buy shoes, even now his feet were bare.

"The dolls....what are they like?" he'd ask. "Are they small?......big?" Thr idea of creating figures, creating an imitation of life interested him.

"Can I see them?" he'd ask, it sounded like he at times sold them, so he assumed others looking at them wasn't unusual.

Diam nodded couple times "Even a mortal life would be far too tedious without something worth occupying time."

"My dolls very in size, though I am fond of creating larger ones. I would say they are primarily porcelain, but I have used other materials to create them." He shrugged out his arms, turning his palms to the sky. "I am afraid I have not brought any of them with me on my walk tonight."

Ragno would tilt his head, thinking a moment. "How old are you?" he'd ask, "how long have you made the dolls?" He wasn't sure how long he would live, now he wondered. "I read.....but that is often all I do," he'd say thoughtfully.

He'd blink at him. "Yes, I can see that," he'd say with a him. "I thought you might have a store where you sell them?"

The arachnid would brush hair from his face. "Is.....is it hard to live a long time?" he'd ask the vampire.

Diam shrugged again. "I am old enough to lose careful track of my age. I am certain it is several thousand years now. I have been crafting for a majority of that as well." He shook his head just once. "There is nothing wrong with reading if that is what you enjoy. You will have plenty of time to explore alternative hobbies if that is your worry."

Diam tilted his head a bit. "I have had many stores over the years, but currently I am distributing my wares over the internet. I am embarrassed to admit I am not much good at using the thing. Perhaps it is time once again to procure a brick and mortar shop."

The vampires face contorted into a sad smile for a few moment before returning to his neutral expression. "It can be... difficult. There is a lot of loneliness past the lifespans of mortals. I think some philosophers have said that humans die simply to avoid that sadness... I have had my share of it now. I would not say it gets easier, but... it's like learning to treat a burn wound. It starts to sting less and heal faster."

"Yes.....the internet is odd...," he'd only used it for the first time recently. "So much information, but it can be hard to use sometimes," he was a fast learner, so he'd adapt.

He'd look back to the ocean, tilting his head, quietly thinking a moment before turning back to the vampire. "You are like the ocean," he'd say, "you do not change....but things around you do."

"Maybe.....maybe you can know the ocean," he'd say thoughtfully. "You will both always be."

"Indeed." Truly Diam could probably have devoted more time to learning the myriad uses of the internet. It was a fascinating invention, but there were also many others that he had equally ignored.

The vampire's eyes widened after the next statements, followed by hearty, full laugh. It was the strongest display of emotion that he had shown tonight. "You honor me with such a comparison, friend." He said once he had finished with his outburst. "I assure you, we too change. It's simply not quite as quickly as everything else. I wouldn't say you are wrong though. Perhaps her waters will help soothe the next time I am struck with loneliness."

Diam pulled out a card and pen from his jacket pocket and began writing something down. He glanced up at the sky after several raindrops fell on the card, then simply curled his body over it as he continued. "An honor for you as well then." The immortal would say, handing Ragno the card. "Come to this address whenever you wish to see my dolls. I am there about as often as I am out."

Ragno would tilt his head, accepting the card and quickly reading it over. "Thank you," he'd say with a nod, "I'll come soon." This was the most productive interaction he'd had since his arrival, it seemed he made something of a friend.

The arachnid would slip the card into his pocket, glancing up at the rain which was continuing to fall. "It is getting cold," he'd say, his face briefly turning into a light scowl. "I'll be going."

He'd look at the vampire a moment, his eyes thoughtful. "Goodbye Diam," he'd nod, tightening his coat around him, before turning and taking his leave. He had many thoughts in his mind as he went, thoughts on that interaction, and what the outcome meant.

Diam would nod, then hold out a hand to the rain. "I suppose the temperature is indeed dropping. I should finish my walk as well." He bowed once more. "Farewell, friend. Until we meet again." The vampire would watch Ragno depart for a few moments. He hadn't even received a name from the spider, and yet they had broken through his barriers so easily.

Diam shrugged to himself. Time enough for that later. He should really return home and begin making preparations for company. Turning on his heel, he vanished down the beach and into the mists of the rain.
