"Oh no, I was the one who came here for your aid."

Lark was becoming easier to read. Dominik can't quite put a finger to it, but he could see that the elf wasn't as puzzling as he expected after all. That wasn't a bad thing; Lark was still deep enough for Dominik not to see through all of him, which leads to his want to get to know him more, but he wasn't too deep which then lets Dominik know that he had a chance to dig through all of him, eventually.

That eventuality was not today, because he needed another reason to meet Lark for a second time, and a third, and a fourth, and so on. That is, other than being sick.

"I can stay awhile more, Doc. I did tell you something already right? Come on, ask what you want to ask."

After hauling a few files regarding his brain cancer research from the cabinet, Lark slowly stood up and strided back to his little table and gently placed the files on top of it. He was hoping this little gesture of him would somewhat persuade Dominik to leave at his own pleasure, but that didn't seem to be the case.

Lark gazed over the closed door of the clinic, and with the thought that someone won't come in anyway, decided to settle on his wooden chair in a way that it's properly facing the human, before sitting on it and pressing his back against the supporter.

"Your brother's hatred for his race does not change the fact that he's still human." Was what he frankly commented, letting the heavy feeling of stupidly accumulating irritation crash down slowly. He'll try his best to be civil with the humans, or anyone from Equilibrium in this certain planet. But at least with Dominik that seems like an easy task.

"Cean... is still a kid. He barely knows what he's doing." The doctor admitted, crossing his leg over the other in an unconscious display of defense. "Can you tell me how your brother expects Cean to be of help?"

It's true, they were still humans; Augustus and Dominik will always be humans no matter their cause and beliefs. Dominik nodded in agreement.

"Cean is still a kid. So is Gus. But... There are things only they could do."

Dominik looked Lark in the eye. His were serious, and they'd let the elf know he meant every word he was about to say. "My brother wants to destroy the current structure from the inside. On the humans' side, there's us from the influential family, who can infiltrate our government. Cean is already enough threat and blessing to the elves, and my brother considers that a double-bladed weapon. He can change their mindset, if he does the right actions. Also..." he leaned back a little, considering the next thing he was about to say. He stared into a distance, thoughtful, before turning back to Lark. "...I've heard about their Guardian Angel. He's here, too. Gus hates him but there's a chance he can... help. In infiltrating the angels."

The brothers don't know a thing.

Lark made an effort not to retort another blunt comment about an obvious flaw in their plan. It was — incomplete, in the nicest way he can put it. Incomplete with all the supposedly basic facts they need.

The doctor made an understanding sound from the back of his throat before proceeding with: "Except for some facts: Cean is... unstable, and the elves are... how should I put it — not very fond of him. At least not enough to be able to persuade them."

"But moreover," The elf couldn't help but frown somehow. "You talk like Cean is just another pawn in your u-turn game."

Laughter. Dominik started laughing, but not for finding anything funny; he was laughing because he was guilty of considering Cean a pain, though he would never really know what his brother considered him.

"I know that. That's why going back to Equilibrium is only the first step."

He stood up, and this time, he was actually really going to leave. Not to evade any more conversation, but because he knew this was going to lead nowhere. He's told Lark what he knew. "I am considering the possibility that that won't be happening, you know? If you ask me, I like earth better. And... I suppose I should prepare for my next class."

He'd walk towards the door, but he'd first stop beside Lark and tap his shoulder. "When I come visit you again, can our talk be about you and me?" He was trying hard not to laugh or snicker. He meant it, but it was trying to make him laugh and he was trying his best not to. Leaving the elf with that question, Dominik continued to the door, exiting silently.

Lark was taken aback with the sudden physical contact. He did not even realize Dominik's exit until he heard his footsteps slowly disappearing along the corridor. Hurriedly (and he doesn't have any ideas as to why), he stood up and strode over his clinic's door, turning the knob with more force than necessary before swinging it open. "You..!" He called out, stepping outside when he saw the human's back and was somehow relieved. There were a lot of questions muddling his mind right now — the brother's objective, Cean's welfare, his own concerns being a doctor of the academy, his research — but what he can't understand is why out of all the things his mind should really process, is it's instead occupied with Dominik's touch and the promise of a second meeting?

"...about you and me..."

The doctor sighed, feeling the lingering warmth of his latest visitor's touch on his shoulder. "You..." If a single touch makes him doubt himself like this, what will a hug do? Moreover, what if... "You should try and find another doctor." He finally settled, slamming the door and not really waiting for any reply. He let his back rest against the wooden door as his hand hover over his chest, his heart racing beneath it.

Damn it, why is he blushing!?
