Dominik only smiled. If he answered that, he wouldn't know what it would sound like to Lark, and if the elf's reaction was going to be an entertainment, or a mood killer.

Won't it be bad if a bad relationship between two staff members suddenly welled up?

Dominik was staring at him, staring without care if he got caught just like those moments during staff and faculty meetings. Moments that made him wonder why the humans and elves were enemies in their home planet, when the elves were such... interesting creatures? He'd say beautiful but... his aesthetics had high standards and he would have to see deep within something to deem it beautiful. Interesting was good enough.

"So." When he opened his mouth and spoke, his smile turned into a grin. "What medicine should I take for headaches, Doctor? Or am I just supposed to come see you here whenever, and you'll take away my pain?" There was a hint of teasing in his tone, but it was only a mask for his thoughts as he weighed what type of person, or elf, was Lark.

"Doctor...come see you here whenever, and you'll take away my pain?"

Is he mocking me?

What does that statement suppose to mean? Is this Dominik trying to push him over the edge?

Or maybe he's pushing him to something else?

Lark's golden eyes attempted to glance over Dominik's red ones. There. He's staring at Lark the same way he does during faculty meetings. It's the same stare that makes Lark uncomfortable. And so, just like what he did so many times before, Lark looked away immediately.

He attempted to talk the matter with the human, but having bad blood against the Claret brothers doesn't help. So the elf decided to just let everything slip. After all, a few stares wouldn't kill him.

A few.

What he didn't think of was the possibility that the older brother would come to him. Out of all the doctors in the academy, this human entered, clutching his shirt in obvious pain and pale enough that the elf found it hard to refuse. Although yes, he did shout at him.

Maybe fate brought Dominik here?

Lark clicked his tongue. Fate.

However, the elf is really curious about that look.

"Do the headaches occur before the attacks? Or with the attacks?" This time, Lark decided to face that stare head on, locking his eyes with Dominik. "And why, pray tell, do you always stare at me so maniacally?"

Dominik kept observing, despite the clues that Lark wasn't comfortable with what he was doing. He didn't really care. Besides, those little reactions he got were amusing, and in a sense adorable. What could the elf be thinking? What filled his head at the moment? How did he see Dominik?

The human grinned at the thought of the last question. Pretty surely, whatever Lark thought about him, it wasn't entirely good.

When Lark decided to return his look and not look away, Dominik felt a little... fazed. But he wore his mask well, he hid his surprise well, and his gaze did not falter.

"They're not connected to my asthma, they happen every time my heartbeat becomes faster than normal." He thought Lark was going to continue with giving him some better prescription than ibuprofen but... again, he was taken aback when that wasn't the case. He choked on his own breath, coughing for a moment until he was simply releasing laughs. Curled up a little and held his stomach when it started hurting because of his laughter.

"Tha... Hahaha...! Do you have to use the word 'maniacally'..? Oh... Hahahaha..." He kept laughing for a few more seconds. After calming down, Dominik had to use the inhaler again. "Ah... No. No, Doctor Rhun. I'd like to call it 'curious observation'. You know how rare it is for our races to be close like this without fighting, right?" he said.

Lark gave Dominik a once-over and tried to apply what the other coined as curious observation, but what was he supposed to look for anyway? The elf doesn't have anything less of what the human has. Except for the elf's pointy ears and paler complexion, there isn't much to look at.

"I shall write a report about your condition," he sighed before tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear. "But what is there to observe?" Lark couldn't help but be curious about the other's stares, "We have the same appearance, humans just look quite plainer, I mean no offense."

"None taken," Dominik smiled gently. He knew what Lark was talking about, but that's not what he meant. "But Doctor Rhun, there's always more to observe than the obvious and outright. Don't you think so?"

He stood up almost too suddenly. Took a few steps forward and leaned forward until his face was only inches apart from Lark's. The way his eyes bore through the elf's own was like a sharp dagger that was trying to scoop something out.

"I'm mostly curious with what's behind these eyes..."

"Veins probably." Lark answered nonchalantly as he stared right back at the human. Surely, this guy has a peculiar way of making him uncomfortable.

"Very funny."

Dominik pulled away, grinning. He seemed done for the moment, so he retreated back to the edge of the clinic bed where he was supposed to be in the first place. He held the inhaler up, his face now shifting to a curiously questioning look. "I suppose I should leave you with your work now. I get to keep this, right?"

He stood up once more. He fixed his shirt a little, preparing to leave. He just needed the doctor's okay, and he'll be on his way.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I heard you promise me a conversation about my hybrid." Lark was the one getting uncomfortable here, and one sarcastic remark made the human back away?

The elf laughed mentally at the weakness.

Dominik, however, didn't seem fazed at all.

There wasn't an ounce of discomfort or tensing on his face or posture. He was absolutely comfortable and easy and the only reason he pulled away was that he wasn't planning to stay so close for long in the first place. For some reason, he could feel that Lark was thinking otherwise, but he shrugged it off.

"Oh, now?" he tilted his head to an angle. His hand was starting to twirl the inhaler through the fingers, playing with it unconsciously. "Alright. We can start with what I know, though I don't think there's much.

"I haven't talked to him personally just yet, but I saw him during the application for the Games. One thing I'm sure of is that my brother thinks he can help stop the war, because he's in a mediating line between the angels and the elves, a hybrid. And my brother... well because of his hatred towards our race, he's kinda the same. I trust my brother's thoughts and decisions when... when he's not angry, and I trust that he has some sense in him when he says what he says. I'm just here as a support," he ended with a shrug. "Ask me anything, if you want to know more. Though I suppose Augustus is the one who really knows more."

Lark sighed at how fast this conversation is going. With the way Dominik is acting, it's as if he really doesn't want to stay here much longer than he already had.

Lark, amused (and yes, worried) at the thought that maybe he's also making the human somewhat uncomfortable, called Dominik's attention by softly, but clearly calling his name and continued with: "It seems you're not interested in this conversation. I guess I would just find your brother, so as to not to bother you." He stood up, walked past the bed where the human is and gathered something from the lower cabinets.

"I'm sorry to trouble you." He added.
