His asthma was acting up again.

Dominik has only been in the island for a couple of weeks, and it was honestly fun being able to both fascinate and torture his students at the same time. He officially loved teaching. But teaching wasn't such an easy task, especially if it was for someone with poor health, someone who easily gets suffocated by chalk dust and white board marker stench, someone who gets tired easily and often has to sit down and rest. It wasn't such an easy task for someone like Dominik.

He had to go to the infirmary. He was just strong enough to bear with his last class session and walk himself to the said place, but his lungs were already so painful, he couldn't really breathe anymore, and maybe if he were a couple of minutes later, he probably wouldn't have been able to make it awake.

"Anybody in?" his voice resonated through the silent air, accompanying the creak of the door to disturb the place. He sounded like he was gasping for air, despite his face being entirely calm. He stepped inside. He needed to take a seat, he needed some medicine asap. Earth medicine better be effective.

Lark was sitting comfortably on his wooden chair, facing tons of files regarding the research he asked one of his colleagues to provide him with. He never liked those swinging plushy chairs the school normally provides because it felt like he was drowning, and of course, the elf in him told him to stay close to nature, literally so by sitting on wood.

He was skimming through a set of documents explaining what this world know as "brain cancer" something akin to Equilibrium's "Amanita phalloides" — a kind of disease that even the golden elves can't heal. This fact made this specific study more interesting to the elf, that he barely noticed when someone opened the door.

When he turned to answer the call, an unpleasant scowl immediately spread across his face. "I won't ask what you're doing here, but I still don't like the fact that you followed Cean."

It was too late when he realized how rudely he acted, his parental instincts got the better of him again.

He only does so with Dominik and he does not know why.

Dominik didn't expect that. He was suddenly in front of an elf, one that was surely from the same planet as him at that, an elf, not a hybrid. A supposed enemy of his race.

That scowl was a little unwelcoming, but he understood why. They were enemies in another world, even though over here, it wasn't really that big of a deal. Over here, nobody knew the chaos they've lived through their lives.

Though he decided to put all that away. Never mind the racial conflicts, the war in Equilibrium, the differences. After all, they were in some place else where none of that mattered, at least for now. And, "I need something for... 'asthma', Doc. I think that's the word." As if to show what he meant, he took a deep breath that resembled another gasp. And then he put his hand over his chest where it felt tight. "It's just starting. We can talk later about your friend, yes..?"

"I have no desire to talk to you, however, I need to know your reasons as to why you tailed him so I'll take you up on that offer." Lark sighed, getting up from his chair and pointing the edge of the nearest clinic bed to direct his now so-called patient.

Duty calls. was all the elf could think of as he opened the cabinet at the right side of the room, opposite of where the beds were. "Now tell me," Lark started, his back facing the human. "Is this Lycoperdon...asthma of yours a usual occurence?"

He had pulled the albuterol out from the cabinet as he waited for the other's reply.

"Mm." Dominik obediently went to that clinic bed the Elf pointed, relieved to actually have some soft cushion under him while he was trying not to pass out. Another gasp. He sounded like he was desperately trying to breathe, while at the same time trying his best not to sound like it.

He hated his weak body.

After this, however, they could definitely talk about Cean. He didn't consider himself a hostile presence to the hybrid, or to this elf, though that was mostly because of his brother's desire to end all chaos in Equilibrium once and for all.

"Yeah, it happens all the time," came his answer, even though he wasn't really sure if the frequency of occurrence mattered. "I... I had meds with me when we came here but I ran out... Same with headaches, but I have ibu... Uh... ibuprofen for that. That's the word... Right?"

"Ibuprofen?" Lark couldn't contain the punctuated concern in his voice. "Really, who told you using that will actually help?"

The elf grabbed the albuterol and placed it in the inhaler, striding over the human right after and giving him the kit. "Never use that again. It's a potential trigger." He sighed and subconsciously crossed his arms over his chest. "If you ran out again just come here, I'll file your data so the school can accommodate your condition."

Lark doesn't want to admit it, but just looking at Dominik makes the healer in him regret how he acted not too long ago. Really Lark? To be like that to a patient? Oh great, now he's feeling guilty.

Lark found his way back to his little wooden chair, pulled his records book out and reached for his pen from the pocket of his coat. "When did they start?" He said, trying to shake the feeling off of his system."When do they occur?"

Dominik instantly grabbed the inhaler and put it in his mouth, taking the meds in with a deep breath until the feeling of suffocation vanished.

"Oh, much better..." His hand clutching the inhaler fell to his lap as his whole body relaxed. A content sigh escaped him, before turning his eyes to the doctor. He smiled. It was quite strange that he was in an elf's care, but the idea was amusing.

"Mm... You sure I can't use ibuprofen again? It's effective for my head though. And my cute baby brother insisted it would help. If I can't use that, what can I?" He shrugged. He liked hearing that concerned tone from the elf. Maybe he should try worrying him more?

"My health problems are inborn. If they weren't, I would've been the one to join the last Games, not my brother." He watched the doctor do his work, he stared at the pen and the records book. And then just to check on himself again, he took another deep breath. He wasn't hurting anymore, fortunately. "They happen when I get tired. Or if not, they just happen randomly."

The mention of the Games made Lark fringe for a second, before immediately trying to compose himself - he can't possibly let this Dominik feel his fear. But to remember what Equilibrium was...is, it was a pretty normal response.

"I'm afraid I left before this moon's Games started." He answered.

So he never knew what really happened, never even met the Claret brothers, not until they joined the academy anyway.

So his plan to bury all the memories of Equilibrium will never come true huh?

"Is your brother a doctor? A healer even?" He asked after filing the document, sarcasm oozing from his voice. "I bet not. You know what, I think he's the exact opposite."

Why is he like this anyway? Why does his cool seem to fly off when he hears about Augustus?

Maybe because of the fact that the human wants to drag Cean back to the hell they once called home.

The elf inhaled then sighed. "But of course, I'm here to look after everyone's health, so you are one of my... obligations."

"They act up when you're tired, that's a given. When you say randomly, can you think of anything that's always there? In these random occurrences? Like a pot of plant for example?"

Right. If Lark stayed until the Games, they would've met somehow in their own planet, especially since this doctor was Cean's friend. Dominik just nodded at that. He wasn't really into this trail of conversation at the moment.

The remark about his brother, however, made ohim laugh. A real laugh. Finding the truth to be quite funny.

"The exact opposite. You had me there," he said, a grin plastered on his lips. True enough, Augustus didn't know much about healing, and knew so much about destroying things. Destroying rooms and lives and the like. He wouldn't blame poor Augustus though. He was young, and he was a Claret. Needed more training to be in control of himself.

Dominik hummed to himself. "Something that's always there, huh..? I dunno. Dust? Weird temperature change?" That's what he's observed so far at least. He scooted closer, crossing his legs in a way that showed he was more than okay now, and more than just comfortable.

He smirked and tilted his head to the side, as if he was weighing something about Lark and had himself amused.

"How does it feel to have a Claret as an obligation?"

"How does it feel to have an elf as your healer?" Was what Lark commented, feeling obligated to return such remark.

He sighed, sensing the change of atmosphere that he was not aware of until now. From angry red to calming blue... because right now, what he feels is... downright awkward... and he doesn't have any answer as to why.
