Eloise chuckled. They seem... clueless as to what he was asking, and he found that really hot! Were they a virgin? Eloise found virgins and crazies were the best sort of bed partners, so going off that data, this guy was going to be a monster in bed.

He batted his eyelashes at him and slipped a piece of paper at their direction with his number and room on it. "You. Me. My room. I show you what it's like to have a good time." Eloise waggled his eyebrows at them. He made a 'call me' gesture as the timer ran out.

"Yep," Angelo replied without a pause. "It wasn't exactly a career that most people would have expected me to take, but I enjoy it, and I do a pretty good job of it if I can toot my own horn."

Really, he wasn't actually that bothered by the fact that she was involved with the Rosales's. He'd sort of decided to bury the hatchet on that front. He wasn't going to be dirty, and he wasn't going to get involved, but he also wasn't going to dance around the point and try and pretend like he didn't know them.

"It's good to be passionate at your work, I have to say. I'm going to steal the question from the last person I sat with though. Tell me about yourself in five sentences or less, if you can."

The timer was almost run down, but he could at least get that much, right?

Oh no, now she really had to think fast. And it was of course under pressure when her head felt the foggiest.

“Um…I…ummm…”

She brought her free hand up to her chin. A tentacle still squirmed in the hand she kept under the table.

“I, um…I am a witch. I like to make herbal remedies to help people. I-I lived through the witch craze, and I suppose that is why history is so important to me. Because we should not make the same mistakes of the past.”

Caterina felt a little awkward as she realized that was a bit personal, but it was the first thing that came to mind after they talked about her job at the museum. But there was something in what she shared that seemed to perk her up a bit. She became more bold, and with their last bit of time she quickly asked:

“And…it’s your turn! Five sentences or less!”

He couldn't help but look away when she complimented his scupltures. He rarely got compliments like that. It felt nice. Maybe he ought to put himself out there more often. Maybe try to sell his stuff again. He never realized how nice a compliment could feel. He had to resist the urge to babble on and on about why he'd chosen plants as a subject matter, because really, he guessed that she could figure it out. After all, she was the beautiful plant woman.

At the mention of side projects she liked to do, he perked up. It was like he was hooked. Side projects? Cardamon thought of his life as less of a life and more like a collection of side projects that he had to do. So he was pretty interested in hearing about other people's.

But then.

Oh then.

Talk to him about it later? Those might as well have been the magic words. That meant that she was interested enough in his existence to perhaps maybe consider talking to him again and for someone as striking as herself that might as well have been the magic word.

"Ah, well, its kind of like being an emotions doctor. When people get hurt emotionally, then their hearts hurt, and eventually start to break. And a broken heart can heal incorrectly, and cause twisted, painful emotions. A Heartsmith's job to help a broken heart come together like new. It's like... chiropractors, or acupressure."

He took the piece of paper with her information as if it was an actual treasure. "T-thank you!" I hope to talk to you again soon!"

Looks like their time was just about up now.

Forever fashionably late, A’laya poked their head into the speed dating before making a grand entrance.

“Hello hello beautiful people~” That was one of A’laya’s typical catch phrases from their highly popular online videos. They blew kisses and winked at anyone nearby before going over to jot down their information on a card.

A’laya chose to present as feminine for the speed dating: elaborate makeup to stand out from the crowd, a shell-top bikini, and cute little shorts with a flower pattern. A’laya was thrilled that the cruise was heated with magic, and allowed them to wear their favorite skimpy clothing instead of being bundled upon in layer upon layer. Being cold blooded was a pain and not terribly fashionable!

Once they finished their info card, A’laya started scanning the crowd—looking for whoever was cute and available to talk to.

The timer went off and A'laya watched as people started switching up partners. There was one person, all pretty and green-skinned, who caught A'laya's eye. As soon as Cardamon was out of the chair, A'laya slid right in to greet Bara.

"Hi there~" A'laya said as they put their card down. "You're the first person in here who caught my eye. Probably because you are green and super hot."

A'laya winked.

Charlie took the paper and stared at it for a moment. This was Eloise's room number on the ship and phone number. He was inviting them back to his room? The speed dating had been a success then, it seemed.

Charlie muttered to themself about whether they should go now to Eloise's room now or continue to mingle with the other speed dating participants. Before they could ask Eloise his opinion on the matter, the timer ran out.

"Well, the rules are clear. We must find a new partner. We will stop by your room later Eloise." Looking around, Charlie sized up the other single participants too see who might be a good match.

Already, Bara had another person coming over to her and complimenting her.

"Oh!" she laughed, delighted. She glanced at the card. "Thank you for noticing, A'laya the Serpent! You are also pretty." Snakes were supposed to be green. Was A'laya the serpent especially attracted to her because she was green? How delightfully convenient! It was too bad A'laya wasn't green herself. Probably. Bara had no idea if that was a source of insecurity for the sea-creature-looking girl. Wait, no, not girl. Gender... fluid? Bara had never heard of such a thing. She didn't know if it would be okay to ask.

That was just one of several things on A'laya's card which greatly confused the plant-woman. Her glance danced between A'laya and her card for a while as she spoke. "So, like my card says, my name is Bara, becaues it means Rose in Japanese and I thought the word sounded really nice. I am a magic plant, and I'm the only one of my kind to ever exist. Uhm..."

Bara stared at A'laya's card now. "What is... DTF? Digital tape format?" Bara was familiar with the digital tape format. There was some very old, but useful information on very old computers that she had to transfer to new systems and back up on paper, back at her lab. But that didn't make any sense in the context of a romantic encounter. Unless this was one of those "fetish" things Bara had heard about in passing.

They were out of time, but that didn't stop Angelo from answering as he pushed himself up.

"I'm a reaper, I used to be part of the mafia, and if you ask Klaus about fluffy I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you my life story. And this is my phone number if you want to meet up after," Angelo said, digging his card out of his back pocket and sliding it across the table to her. Being realistic, he probably didn't even have to go that far. There was no way Klaus Rosales didn't already have his number, and she could easily have just gotten it from him.

Angelo pulled back from the table, giving her a brief wave as he scanned the room.

Charlie was out--Angelo wasn't dating another cop--and one of the only singles was a young goblin whose polyamorous ruled her out too. That left the person made of glass, and then the plant-and-fish combo whose tags he couldn't read.

With both busy, Angelo decided that speed dating had been just fine with him, heading out onto the deck to see what else there was to do.

(Angelo exits.)

Caterina’s eyes widened as Angelo handed her his card. She hadn’t really expected him to give her his information, but she accepted it gratefully.

“Thank you!” she said, before he got up and left. She debated whether she should maybe go or stay. This process was nerve wracking, but…also kind of fun? Perhaps she would try and meet a few more people before she returned to her room.

There were two who split off around the same time she and Angelo did. It looked like she would have to be the one to approach. Ahh, but who should she go to? One looked like a pirate, while the other was a pretty woman in a black dress. They both were labeled ‘polyamorous’, which Caterina was unsure she was herself, but…she also didn’t know if she was monogamous. She had never been in either type of relationship.

Well, she was here to be brave and try new things, right? Talking to new people was the first step.

So, she decided to approach Eloise. There was something about his pirate look that intrigued her.

“U-um, hello! My name is Caterina,” she said to him.

“Why thank yooou~!” A’laya said with a happy giggle as Bara did their favorite thing ever: compliment them.

“Rose~ That’s a nice name,” A’laya said, “And I am meeting one of a kind! That’s awesome.”

A’laya started laughing when Bara started questioning what ‘DTF’ meant. Digital Tape Formatting? Oh god, A’laya was dying.

“I was just trying to be funny with that! It means ‘down to fuck,’” A’laya managed to get out once their laughter calmed down.

“I just wanted to meet people casually, so I just decided to put something silly down. Basically it’s just the same as your card says: open to anything.”

A’laya leaned forward toward Bara, looking her over with great interest. Apparently plant people was becoming a theme for A’laya, as their girlfriend also had plant-related traits.

“So as you saw on my card, my name is A’laya the Serpent. But you can just call me A’laya! I’m a sea serpent plus an Envy demon, straight out of Hell!”

There was a big, proud smile when A’laya mentioned Hell—despite the fact that their departure from Hell was a bit…well…there was no reason to get into that right now.

“I go to Starlight Academy—I’m a college student studying Communications and Theatre! I also make videos on the internet—makeup tutorials and fashion and stuff like that. It’s hella fun! What do you do?”
