Anya nodded. "Possibly." She started tapping the floor lightly, listening for hollow sounds. "Nothing so far. You start on the walls." She told him a moment later.

"Alright," Sabriel said. He started tapping lightly on the walls, listening for anything that might help them escape. He wondered for a moment if he should teleport out of here for a phone then return, but decided against it. If that guy came back while he was gone it might not turn out to be good for Anya. He didn't want her to end up getting hurt.

Anya crawled around the perimeter of the floor, tapping. Finally she sat down. "It's hopeless. We're doomed. Completely and utterly doomed." She said glumly. She put her chin in her hands and sighed.

Sabriel found his attempts useless as well. He fell to his knees and sighed, looking down, a disappointed look on his face. "We're not doomed," he said quietly. "As long as we do what the kidnapper wants, he won't hurt us." He crawled over to where she was and sat next to her. "And I'm sure someone will save us."

The man looked at his parents, and soon found the phone number to reach Anya's parents at. Oh, being a stalker could be fun sometimes! He started dialing the number, and once finished, waited until someone picked up the phone.

Anya sighed. "How is anyone going to find us here?" She moaned.

Nancy, the maid, answered the phone. "This is the Daniel's residence." She said.

Sabriel bit the inside of his lip. "He said there'll be a ransom. Someone will come," he said. He was going to mention his power, but he still didn't want to leave her alone here, and he hoped she wouldn't remember it.

"Greetings," he said. "I need to speak to either Mrs. or Mr. Daniels. Right now, immediately."

Anya shook her head. "Don't they usually make a drop-off point?" She asked.

Nancy cocked an eyebrow at the urgency in the man's voice. "May I ask who is calling?"

"Like, a meeting place kind of. The person leaves the money, and the kidnapper leaves the kid." Anya explained.

Nancy's eyes widened. "Just a moment sir." She went and found Mrs. Daniels, who picked up the phone. "What is it?" She asked rudely. Nancy hadn't told her what the man had said, and she did NOT like to be disturbed in the middle of a manicure.

"Ahh... right," Sabriel said, nodding now. "There's no way we can get out of here, is there? Unless you want me to try and leave and get help..." He couldn't just keep silent about that option. It might help them get out of this mess if he left for a short amount of time.

The man smirked after hearing her tone of voice. "I wouldn't be so rude, Mrs. Daniels," he said. "I mean, I am keeping your daughter Anya and her little friend Sabriel captive. One move of a knife or a gun could kill them..." He paused a moment and laughed maliciously. "Now tell me, do you want to see your daughter again? Or am I free to torture them?"
