An explosion made into a kid? Or rather, a kid made from an explosion? Sounded lively.

"It really is a strange world, you know. To think that there are so many different powers out there, and so many types of people... It's a wonder that the world exists at all."

Ann scooted out of her seat and stood. She had absolutely no idea as to what she wanted, other than that she was hungry. In situations like this, it was better to go with something simple. No sandwiches, since she couldn't eat bread, and no soup, since it was too hot for it, no yogurt, since something sweet might make her retch...

"This is gonna sound crazy, but I think I just want more fries. Or something else equally savory that doesn't include bread... I'll split a big thing of fries with you, if you want some."

Apparently, fries were good for hangovers, but she didn't say that out loud.

"It really is a strange world, you know. To think that there are so many different powers out there, and so many types of people... It's a wonder that the world exists at all."

"You know what blew my mind?" Cabel asked. "The implications of the fact that there are other worlds. I mean, we have aliens and demons and all sorts of things that before I only thought was fantasy. It makes me feel bad for thinking people were crazy before. Anyway, we know all of this works...but not how deep our own ocean is."

He followed her up out of the seat, grabbing his phone and tucking it into his pocket.

"This is gonna sound crazy, but I think I just want more fries. Or something else equally savory that doesn't include bread... I'll split a big thing of fries with you, if you want some."

Cabel's stomach growled in response.

"You know what? let's do that," he agreed, laughing. He dug out his wallet and pulled out a few folded bills. "Do you like cheese on your fries?"

Aliens and demons? Right. Those existed. Sometimes it was hard to comprehend that the world was bigger than her dorm room and her classes. Especially when she felt sick like this, her worldview seemed to narrow to barely anything at all. Although it didn't relieve any of the slowly fading nausea, experiencing existential wonder was making her feel a little better. A little more energized, perhaps.

Cheese on fries? Well so much for slowly fading nausea; her stomach turned over. "Err, no thanks. Plain fries for me, please. Maybe get cheese separately?" Unless it was shredded cheddar or something--that wasn't so bad. It was liquid cheese that made her cringe. "Wait, are we talking about real cheese or liquid cheese? I really don't like nacho cheese, but normal cheese I can tolerate."

Ann pulled another few singles from her back pocket and said, "either way, I'll split the cost with you fifty-fifty."
