Private Finished No Rest For The Wicked

When Rem got his eyes on Lizzy, he let out a sigh and ran after her, being careful not to run into anyone as he did so.The whole time, all he could wonder was what exactly this girl's issue was. First the stupid stink bomb thing and now stealing his halo? How could anyone be so immature.

Rem followed her all the way to the courtyard, though he was a ways behind and occasionally lost track of her. But sure enough, he got there. But when he did, the halo was nowhere to be seen.

"Where did you put it? Do you have any idea how disgraceful it is to steal an angel's halo? Give it back at once."

As Lizzy spoke, Rem tried very hard to keep himself together, but he was beginning to get really annoyed and even if he was attempting to hide it, it was still pretty obvious. His wings began to flap, but he wasn't flying, he couldn't even if he wanted to. The wing flapping was just a result of him being agitated.

"There's no point in lying, I already know you have it. If you tell me where it is right this moment, then I will let this slide. Otherwise, we are going to be repeating exactly what happened last ti-" He winced briefly, interrupting what he was saying. His head hurt. "Just give it back."

Rem narrowed his eyes as Lizzy laughed at this pitiful display. She was seriously getting on his nerves at this point.

When she finally hovered the halo over his head, he could feel his headache disappear as his mana started flowing into it. It was honestly a huge relief for the brief moment before he went to grab it and she floated it outside his reach.

In an instant, the headache returned, causing him to wince once again before turning to Lizzy.

“Why are you like this? What do you gain by tormenting me?”

Rem averted his eyes from the halo, instead placing his gaze on Lizzy.

“So that’s it? You hate it here so you try to bring everyone else down to feel better about yourself? You are so selfish.”

He then looked around, catching his eyes on a stick which he quickly bent over and picked up.

“A lot of other people aren’t here by choice either, and you don’t see them trying to make everyone else’s lives harder than they already are.”

He jumped up, swinging the stick and attempting to hook it on his halo.

His eyes narrowed, unimpressed as his halo was once again pulled out of his reach. “On the contrary. My life was far nicer before I ended up here.”

He frowned. Everything always seemed to come back to demons and he hated it. “And yes, I dislike demons. But even still I haven’t gone out of my way to harass them. I’m nothing like you, don’t even try to compare us.

He was frustrated, and the pulsing in his head didn’t help in the matter.
