"Oh, okay then. It's okay if you have trouble with big words. I just stop time and look through a dictionary." Victor pulled a well-worn Dictionary out of his pocket and put it on the table.

"I used to live in an Orphanage, so I saved money to buy my Computer from a richer person that lived there."The boy was being adopted, so, of course, he had a little garage sale.

Taking Another look at his computer, he saw that it was fully booted up, and all updates were complete."Do you want to have a go on a Game? I have a few, I used to do Livestreams on Youtube."

This power that Victor had was starting to make Jake slightly jealous. He had an infinite amount of time to do anything. That would be so handy for homework. Jake also felt comforted that victor was also an orphan so he had, at least, some idea of how his life had been.

"Really?" Jake asked. "You'd let me have a go? I'd love to. Thanks."

"Not a problem." Victor went to hs computer and typed in his password. "By the way, don't go on my computer unless you ask me first. I keep a lot of stuff on it."

The screen unlocked, showing a CAD design of a gauntlet, a... side project he had been working on. "Just, ignore that." He said hesitantly. Until it was complete, it would be best not to show anyone.

Opening his Game folder, which had over 200 games organized by personal Ranking, he asked Jake."Any particular game you want to play?"

"I promise I won't," he assured. On his computer, there was an intricate design for a gauntlet. Jake was going to ask about it but he was advised otherwise. Victor closed the program down and opened a folder with hundreds of games; most of the Jake had never heard of. "Nope. Any game is fine."

"Okay then, um.. this one." Victor selected a game, Halo: Combat evolved. It was an old first-person-shooter and was easy to beat. "This one would do."

The music then started playing, with the church orchestra softly blaring out the speakers. Starting the campaign, he pointed towards the chair. "Have a seat." He said as he explained the game.

Jake sat down as Victor went through the controls of the game. It seemed easy enough. Jake went around blasting things with a range of weapons, some familiar, some not. He drove and piloted vehicles that he would steal from the aliens. He loved it but he didn't want to seem too imposing so he offered the computer back to Victor. "Thanks. That was great!"

"You are welcome," Victor said, taking back the controls. "But you left behind 12 grunts."

Unpausing it, he set time to 90%, so while to him, it looked like he was killing enemies in slow motion, to Jake it would be almost instantaneous, the work of a professional.

"Imagine me in PvP."

Jake figured he was using his powers; yet another advantage to what he could do. Victor could probably win at anything. A jog for him could be faster than another persons sprint; freeze time and he could disappear from a room in an instant (which would be good in a fight). Jake could've done with that many times back in England. "I'm going to go unpack my stuff. It will only take a second as you can see by the amount of luggage I brought."

It was obvious he was using his powers, but Victor didn't seem too worried. When Jake said he was going to unpack, He waved him out. "Okay."

He saved and exited the game, and looked at the gauntlet again. It was a way to monitor his power usage. Contrary to what jake thought, it was not a perfect power. Using it could kill him. The only problem was that it needed to work during even when

The only problem was that it needed to work during even when time was at 0%. It could only be done by vibrations at a sub-atomic level, one false step and the force of a nuclear bomb would be attached to his hand. "Why is everything so dangerous." He sighed.

Jake picked up his bag and guitar and dumped them on his bed. Unzipping the bag, he lifted out a couple of sets of clothes and hung them up in the wardrobe. It took him literally a minute to put his stuff into drawers and cupboards. Once he had finished, he dived onto his bed and just lay there when he heard Victor say something. Jake just presumed he was talking about some game he was playing so he didn't mention it. Instead, he put on his headphones and listened to his music.
