Private Finished nature speaks

"A what? " Michi turned to Linus with an incredulous look. DId she hear him right? He was looking in her direction now so their gazes met for a few seconds before with Michi looking like she was suddenly backed into the wall. Less hostility, more fear. Perhaps some amount of remorse of guilt -- she did just try to kill something, even though it had it coming. "Me? No. I- I'm not a criminal," she managed to stuttered out. He seemed to relax as she said that, but she was pretty sure it wasn't because of what she said. Even so, she also breathed out a sigh of relief, before pushing herself away from the wall, not realizing she had stepped back into it until now. "It's. Complicated. Apparently, my abilities could be illegal and I don't want to be accidentally using it. That's what I meant about getting in trouble."

Michi laughed -- or what could have been a laugh, but her voice quickly died down. She heard the voices in her head rumble into another round of chatters as both she and Linus fell into thought. She wasn't sure what he was thinking about, and she could barely think of that with the chatters. "My powers affected my voice," she began to explain. "I can talk just fine though just... for some reason, it's just my singing. And I really used to sing a lot before..." her voice trailed, wondering if she should mention it but eventually decided against it. She didn't need to tell people about the ritual. "Anyway... that's really just what this was about," she told him. It wasn't as if it was a secret she was keeping. She could probably tell him. "I was just... finding places I could go off by myself without people hearing me sing and probably be the reason they hurt themselves." A pause. Michi cocked an eyebrow. "What did you think it was?"

Michi awkwardly laughed at the suggestion. Really, who knows. She hasn't cared much to test how far her powers could work so she hadn't really know -- can she sing a person to their deaths? Hopefully not, but she's not willing to find out. Or even test the theory. "Well, that's nice to hear," she commented, sitting next to him. She was quiet for a moment, pondering on her thoughts. "Hey. So. I'd been meaning to ask but. What kind of other people are here on the island, anyway?"

Michi had to hold a chuckle from Linus saying the others had the 'decision-making of pre-teens'. She would have if she hadn't noticed how his voice seemed a bit strained. She couldn't imagine people having any of their abilities, her and her friends, and making bad decisions of whatever power they had. God knows what would happen if someone of her or Rowan's ability would have poor impulse control. "Ahh, that sounds scary," she said, rather uneffectively at that. Her voice was monotone, not showing any of her alarm, but her expression showed a sardonic smile. Linus could have easily misread it. "What's up with 'fine probably' though? You don't think I make terrible decisions, do you?" Then again, considering how she acquired her abilities, she probably did make bad decisions after all.

Michi was at a loss for words for a moment, which ended up into a little fit of laughs. "Okay, so I walked into that one there," she admitted. Going into hidden alleys with strangers was already bad, what more a dead end blind spot, as he called it. Then again, she was now always armed to fend away danger if that happened. As far as she knew at least. She would have been fine either way. "I'm not going to kill you, if that's what you're worried about. That's illegal and I'm sure my mom would be gravely disappointed at me." She paused for a moment, her thoughts straying to memories of her family for just a moment. "At least you got me instead of some other rando who wanted to hurt people for fun. I'd be scared too."
