Letty rather admired Félix for persuing his passion. She had met countless people who had a passion for something, but their parents or peers discouraged them so fiercely, they took up doing something that they hated, and ended up being an unsatisfied adult for the rest of their mortal days.

"It's mostly just an art class. But for your body. Skin care, cosmetics, and how different clothings can either improve or detract from the overall image." It was interesting to her, how the slightest colour variation can either make or break an entire look. It could sometimes be a lot to take in, and was stressful at times. If you got even the slightest shade wrong, you might fail the assignment.

Despite her burning curiosity and determination to discover the secret, Letty decided to let the issue drop for now. Perhaps in time, she could manage to weasel it out of him. She could feel the mood drop quickly, and she felt bad for bringing the subject back up. He sighed as his eyes flicked back to her. Hoping to lighten the mood back up, Leticia panicked, looking desperately around her. Piano? He liked piano! Piano! "How long have you been playing the piano? You're good at it."

There were many different ways to do art. Félix would have thought his own pursuit not unlike a painter's, only with different tools and different theory to study. The major difference was what sense they were meant to please. Different timbres, if used incorrectly, could clash and make the whole piece feel off. Even the notes themselves would want harmony, and needed to be mixed pleasingly together. A single bad sharp or flat in a chord could turn it from consonant to dissonant.

Félix was glad she changed the subject. “Since I was, hmm, four.” He could hardly remember the first time he touched the piano. It felt like he had studied music his whole life. Félix did not always sound like a really good musician, but he learned fast. “How long have you been interested in cosmetics?” The question brought to his mind the image of young girls first getting a hold of their mother's makeup. It was probably as successful as Félix's very first rendition of 'hot cross buns'.

“So, I was curious.” Félix leaned towards Leticia, his eyes studying the top of her head carefully. “Do you do anything with your horns? As in, polish them or something?” He almost wanted to reach out and touch them. He wondered if they would feel like his own fingernails.

Four years old, that was pretty impressive to be doing something for so long. She supposed she had been interested in beauty for so long, but it was a bit different to be interested in aesthetics. From birth, it seemed that most people were concerned with who was the most beautiful. It was fascinating in a way, the almost ingrained obsession with appearances. Often, she had to wonder if it was innate or learned by society.

"Probably since I was very young, too." Letty shook her head, thinking about when exactly she became interested. Most little girls are attracted to beauty. They see the other girls at school and think, 'oh, if only I could look more like that.' They see girls in magazines, television shows, promotions, and women are held on a pedestal for beauty. Letty thought it was rather interesting to learn, to see what attracts people.

Leticia's hand went up to her brow, her fingers dancing over the hardened bone of her horn. She could feel the familiar dents and scars after so many years of headbutting people for irritating her. Her hands lit upon one such rut, and she smiled a bit slowly. "Sometimes, but I prefer the more natural look. If you polish them, people begin to doubt their authenticity, and try to rip them off. Besides, they feel kinda gross and foreign when they're all smooth and polished."

Truth be told, Leticia's explanation of her horns reminded Félix of what he thought of make up in general. Too much of it would make anyone look fake. He wondered if Leticia avoided fixing up her horns at all, or if she was just downplaying the bit of touch-ups she did do. They looked rather nice, and Félix only noticed the more prominent dents and scars.

“Do people, uh,” Félix's hands were in front of him, though mostly near his lap. He still had a strong urge to try and feel them. “Do you ever let people touch your horns?” He knew some people could be very personal about it. Félix, for instance, would rarely let anyone touch his black tendrils whenever he made them. If he ever made them at all.

“I mean no offence, but I was curious about... well...” A bit of blood rushed into Félix's cheeks. Against his white skin, even the smallest tinge of embarrassment would show up as a nice shade of red. Félix was nearly purple.

Letty blinked. She hadn't ever let someone touch her horns. The last time someone had forcibly touched them, she headbutted them rather violently. Eyeing his man suspiciously, Letty decided that hopefully if he promised to be gentle, she wouldn't mind terribly. Her hand strayed to the left horn, and she stroked it's length thoughtfully. "No, I've never let anyone touch it so far. But ... I think if you can be gentle, you can touch them."

She felt a little bad that he had gotten so embarrassed, the poor man looked like he turned into some odd berry. Scooting a bit closer, Letty settled onto her knees and dipped her head, offering her horns up. "Most people are curious, I suppose. It doesnt happen very often that you see a person with goat horns on their head. Sometimes I wish they were smaller. They get in the way a lot, especially with dressing." She had torn countless shirts, trying to stuff her head through the small hole. In the end, she had begun to order custom shirts with larger holes. Button up shirts were especially useful. Unless, of course, one of her horns caught a button and ripped it away.

Honestly, Félix was a little surprised Leticia was going to let him touch them. He hesitated, but Letty scooted closer and knelt in front of him. They were right in front of his fingers, and it took little more than a gently thrust from his shoulder to place his hand on the horn.

It really did feel a bit like a long and thick fingernail. Félix's fingers remained gentle, but he could still feel enough to pick out ever nick and dent his fingers came across. He wondered just how often she
'used' them, and for what. Did she have a habit of butting everyone she didn't like? Was some of this involuntary?

He didn't want to dwell on it. He pulled his fingers away, and looked down at Leticia kneeling just in front of him. “You may get back up now. Sorry to be a bother.” Félix smiled in thanks, once she made eye contact with him again.

“I have-” Félix stopped. He wasn't sure if he wanted to mention it. It seemed only fair, but at the same time he greatly disliked what extra anatomy he could have. Even though Letty trusted him with her horns, he still could not give her the same opportunity.

“Nothing like them. Just my red eyes are strange, I suppose.”

Feeling the light pressure, Leticia resisted the urge to shake her head. Focusing on a little piece of the carpet that had been uprooted, Letty stared fiercely at it, distracting her mind until he was finished. Relieved that it hadn't taken too long, Leticia complied, and rocked back on her heels, hopping back up.
"No bother. Just ... Different." The last time she had let someone touch her horns was in primary school, and the children had tried to rip and tug at them. Coming here though, the people seemed to be more sensitive towards people with horns. Thankfully.

Letty frowned, and a confused expression crossed her face. Well, yes she could see that he had nothing like her horns. She would probably have noticed something like that right off the bat. "Horns can be fun. Especially when you come across someone you dont like." A wicked gleam came into her eyes. She did love punishing people with a solid butt to the ribcage. "Your eyes are pretty, though. I wish my eyes were that colour. Is that natural?"

She honestly sounded scary, mentioning how much she liked to knock her horns against unfavourables. Félix would have to remain smart about being around her, then. If he was going to tease her, best to do it a good arm's length away.

“I wouldn't call it natural, but I was born with them.” Some albinos had reddish eyes, but not nearly in the way Félix had his. When they did have red eyes, it was more of a light pink. Félix's were like a ruby. “Thanks, though. What about yours? They're pretty as well, I think.”

He had never seen amber eyes, especially not like hers. Were they related to her horns, just like his were related to his own powers?

It took a few moments to register that they were lengthily looking into each others eyes. She was kneeling in front of Félix, and his hands were next to Leticia like he was ready to scoop her up off the ground.

Félix wasn't sure where to go with this. Eventually it felt weird to look at her, and he tried to focus on something else. His own eyes would make out that little folded piece of carpet. But as much as he didn't know what to say, the silence was increasingly awkward.

Natural or not, his eyes were rather pretty. She didn't recall ever seeing that shade of red in a pupil before. It was almost captivating. However, she had never considered her eyes to be any kind of unique.

"My eyes? I suppose it comes with the goat thing and all. I'm just lucky I don't have their slit pupils." Despite her being female, she had been given a pair of ram horns. She hadn't quite understood why, but it provided her with an excellent defense mechanism.

A little concerned with the sudden shift in atmosphere, Letty wondered if he was alright. It almost looked as if he felt awkward, and the silence between them certainly didn't help anything.

"Um. Do you know any other instruments? Play me a song, please." The best instrument she had learned was the recorder, and even at it's best, she thought that it sounded rather like a cat being murdered.

“Other instruments?” Well, I can play a few but-”

Félix had a hard time thinking of one he could play even half as well as the piano. His mind raced harder when Leticia asked him to play something as well. So now he had to think of an instrument and a song.

“Do I have to sing as well?” Félix frowned a little. If he sang, he might end up hurting her. He could drive her to sorrow with the blues, turn her maniacal with rock, or even make her obsessed with Félix with even a sappy love song.

“Maybe next time. I'll start with just the piano.” He didn't feel confident that he'd be able to stop himself from harming Letty, if it came down to it. Better be safe than sorry, for now.

Though...maybe that was a bit too safe.
