"Lacking researchers?" he'd ask with a small playful grin, "so there's just that much more for me to discover then." He was joking of course, not having a lot of dedicated researchers sounded bothers, so perhaps one day he'd be able to step in, be one of the researchers they needed.

"Yes I'm a changeling," he'd say, confirming his status as a fae, or perhaps semi-fae would be better term for it, "I hope to track down which court I originated from," he also hoped to find his parents perhaps, ask why they condemned him to what had turned into a hellish left growing up.

He'd nod, "I'd appreciate that, any information I can gather would be helpful," in the back of his mind, Shadow was getting excited, hopeful, their search had begun again.

The young man would look at her, his head tilting to the side as he thought deeply in thought. "I don't really believe in fate," he'd say with a shrug, "but me finding Shadow, might have saved me, so finding his past for him is important to me, so thank you."

"How very optimistic of you. I'm sure you'll greatly add to the research team when you've graduated school. And you are very welcome, Mr. Logan. It is rare that I meet a young man as passionate as you when it comes to magical history. So I do hope you continue to stick with the field despite its... difficulties and enjoy the path wherever it make take you."

With a small grin and a quick hand motion, Asteria picked up the envelope she had set aside earlier and slid it over to James. "For your journey to begin, Mr. Logan, I have a small note for you. You are to take it to Doctor Rowan at the museum. You've probably seen him around there, yes? Older gentleman, white hair with that long black streak down the middle, eyes that looks so dull that light can't escape it? Give him this letter and he'll guide you to someone who can help you quite a bit, I imagine."

Asteria turned serious for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she continued to speak. "I will warn you ahead of time, the woman you'll be introduced to is... eccentric, to say the least. She can be quite frustrating at times and her work will seem to go all over the place." She paused, then continued, "But I trust her implicitly and I think you'll enjoy working with her. Plus, she can always another set of hands in her line of research, so you might be able to have a full internship with her exclusively so you can focus on just one job at the museum while attending school."

"I hope that'll be a good start and I'll do my best to support you and Shadow as well. Perhaps when you're a senior in high school, I'd recommend you sit in on one of my college lectures about advanced magical theory and artificing. It can be quite droll, but I imagine you'd enjoy it much more than most."

He'd take the envelope, chuckling at her description of Doctor Rowan, "I know him," he wasn't the most exciting man but he'd seen him around the museum. "I'll make sure he gets it."

James would tilt his head as she described the woman he'd likely be interning under, he couldn't think of anyone that matched that description. "Eccentric is good," he'd say with a small grin, "it'll make things interesting, interning under someone dull would be far worse."

"Sure I can't sit in now?" he'd ask with a playful grin, "I'm sure I can clear a spot in my schedule to pop in and listen." Going to college classes at an early age did sound exciting, it'd definitely be something he'd be interested in.

"That's good, that's good. And dealing with eccentric people is a part of life."

Asteria smirked, eager to see James' reaction when he met his new mentor at the museum. Nothing like shaking up the game a little bit to make life more fun. At his teasing of going to one of her college lectures, her eyes narrowed and she crossed her hands into her lap. Time to be serious teacher for a moment before lightening up again. "Mr. Logan, although your enthusiasm is noted and highly appreciated, I'm going to say no. Your education is important, and as an instructor, could not do anything to jeopardize your learning experience regardless of my personal feelings. You're almost done with school, right? I promise you'll always have a seat reserved in my class, Mr. Logan."

The witch seemed to smirk, leaning in closer towards the teen. "Just go enjoy life. Not all of us have the lifespans to enjoy the little things, and the study of magic isn't going anywhere."

"Fine, fine, I'll think about staying out if your class for now," he'd say teasingly, he'd comply for now. "Can't keep me out forever though," standing he'd look down at his envelop, this was it, this could lead to something, a key to answers.

"Thank you, I'll take this down as soon as I can," a new mentor, a new chapter, this was going to be interesting. With that he'd offer her a handshake before turning and going, an excited smile on his face.
