Rosalyn just chuckled at Seyyal's joke about being an adventurer for hire. "Well, maybe you can get a job at the funfair. It's always an adventure trying to fight the crowds so you can ride the ferris wheel or take a spin on the roller coaster."

Folding a few t-shirts while they talked, Rosalyn stopped momentarily when Seyyal asked about the farmlands.

"Dorian, the head of the Blakes, would like to take the clan there eventually, and ever since my husband passed away last summer," here Rosalyn smiled sadly. "I've been wanting to open a bed and breakfast like the two of us had originally planned, and the farmlands seem like a good place to do that," she explained.

To be honest Seyyal had no idea what a funfair might be. But it was something to look into when she wasn't trying to avoid seeming like an absolute idiot in front of her newer friend. So she just shrugged noncommittally until the subject changed.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you have a family to help support you though. I could never handle settling down for something like that but that kind of life reminds me of a lot of the more relaxing, casual parts of my home. None of this massive city with crazy electronic stuff and machines. Gods, I literally had to forbid a sparring partner from using some kind of crazy robot suit thing against me." She shook her head and then cleared her throat. "Anyways, that sounds like a really nice thing to do and I hope it goes well for you. I uh, think I have plenty of things to buy for now."

It wasn't a large selection that she was agreeing to get, but it should be enough for the time being.

"Thank you, Harland's family has been of great comfort, and very supportive, " Rosalyn admitted, as a brief but dull ache of loss hit her suddenly, one which she had to mentally shrug off, if not she knew it would pull her down.

"Oh wow... That truly sounds like, like,.. something from a movie," Rosalyn stated as she tried to picture Seyyal's world, and just ended up with a crazy version of some sci-fi film she had seen on TV or at the cinema.

Nodding when Seyyal pointed out she had enough clothes, for now, Rosalyn picked up the two t-shirts and sweater she had decided to get and followed her to the register.

"Manta Carlos is certainly a very diverse place," she commented. "Every day I find out something I didn't know, or meet somebody new from somewhere exciting," she confessed as she looked at Seyyal snd smiled.

Seyyal coughed and covered her mouth. "Oh... oh, no. My world isn't the one with the machines and electric stuff. Or the robot suit guy. That's all here. Our home is more... princesses and goblins and swords and magic." Oh boy was that a miscommunication if ever there was one.

At least there was the distraction of checking out their purchases to take some focus off the misunderstanding. Seyyal wasn't super prone to feeling awkward but she did hurriedly busy herself with finishing her purchase before resuming the conversation. "Sorry, I could have been more clear. This place definitely is diverse. To the point where I know how badly matched i'd be in a fight with a lot of people here. Rampaging animals or rogue goblins? Sure. Fighting a dragon by myself? Yeah, no" She laughed. What else could she do really? Knowing what others could do made it pretty clear when there was a severe power imbalance.

"Oh! I thought that..." here Rosalyn flushed red, clearly embarrassed by her mistake. "Nevermind," she laughed at her error, and then.

"It's okay, really it is," Rosalyn rushed to reassure Seyyal when they started apologizing. "I am the one who should be apologising," she stated. "I am like a fish out of water here. I am one of the few humans in a pack of werewolves, on a magical island, where almost daily I am confronted with something I only believed was a myth," she stated apologetically.

"And I am sure you could, maybe not, defeat a dragon, but most certainly outsmart one," she stated with confidence as she paid for her goods.

Seyyal grabbed her bags and waited for Rosalyn to be finished. "Alright then we can be a fish out of water and a dunesurfer out of.. sand. Wait, sorry that probably makes no sense at all to you. But we're not all that different in that way. I'm not some mythological creature, just a human with a few minor tricks." She reassured her friend and then pointed to her bags as well.

"I could carry those for you if you want? I'm not sure where you were headed but now i'm starving." She shrugged and glanced around to get her bearings as they exited the store. "The way to outsmart a dragon is to figure out how not to piss them off in the first place by the way. But i'm no princess so at least I'm not at risk of being stolen away by a dragon like a storybook character." Seyyal grinned and looked back at Rosalyn.

Rosalyn was actually very surprised when Seyyal told her she was basically just a human as she was. She had sort of assumed the contrary. That Seyyal had some sort of magical ability, was immortal, or could shift into some amazing creature.

"I'll definitely remember that... To defeat a dragon simply don't provoke it," Rosalyn stated humorously.

"There's a small diner over on the next block that Dorian sometimes goes to if you are interested," Rosalyn said as they headed that way anyways. "Or if you aren't too uncomfortable around a pack of hungry werewolves you could join us for dinner if you wanted," she offered with a smile.

Seyyal thought long and hard about the offers. The diner would clearly be the safer option. She didnt have direct experience with a pack of werewolves but she could make n educated guess. But Rosalyn had just taken time from her grocery shopping to help her with clothes.

And she didnt feel right implying she wouldnt be safe with Rosalyn's family. "If you're sure no one will mind, I wouldnt be against joining you all for dinner. After all I'm not sure lionesses and wolves naturally go together, but this is Manta Carlos right? I trust your judgement... and my own skills." She laughed as they walked.

Rosalyn broke out in an enthusiastic smile when Seyyal accepted. She was excited about making new friends. Leaving behind her family and friends were the two things she had found hard about leaving to come live with Harland's family on the island.

"Wonderful!" she gushed happily. "And you needn't worry, Dorian is great, and so are the others. Besides, the full moon is a ways off yet," she explained, assuring Seyyal that she'd not be in any danger.

"Do you mind if I grab like four things from the butchers before we head home? Maybe you can tell me what's in that lamb dish you mentioned earlier too?" Rosalyn suggested cheerily.

"Sure, I did just interrupt your shopping so you could help me try on pants. I think I can return the favor. I'm no cook though. I barely know how to roast some meat without burning it like certain friends of mine...," she laughed and followed behind Rosalyn.

The actual recipe for the lamb pockets eluded her but the basic idea was marinated lamb with various strong spices and vegetables in a rolled and flattened dough pouch then baked or even fried. Seyyal explained it as best she could.

"They're not going to be weirded out by some random girl coming to dinner are they? I'm not sure why they would, but it sounds like a pretty tight family group." As brave as she was, Seyyal didnt really want to step into something accidentally and have a wholenpacl of werewolves pissed at her.
