Private Moving Forward

Seyyal seemed to snap out of it as her name was called. "Hmm? Oh, I guess I forgot what I was saying. But I think layers would be good for me. I like being able to adjust things to fit the situation."

She shook her head a little and whatever hazy cobwebs had manifested in her mind went away. "Alright," she said as she gathered another paired set of shirts. "I think I should try some of this on before we end up with a mountain of clothes. I dont want to be buried in the way too soft and bizarrely well stitched clothes of this world." Her smile and laugh returned like nothing had happened at all.

Seyyal shrugged and accepted the idea of her just having had a mental lapse without question. Truth be told it was hard for her to focus on thinking about it anyway so it was easier to just move on. "Save some of the cheap clothes for me to look at, too!" She called out after her.

She then slipped into the changing rooms with the items they'd picked out. Which took a lot longer than she realized it would. She couldn't just throw them on and see if they fit or not, though that was a part of it. She had to actually see if she was ok with the look too and that was the harder part. Not to mention she did have to change out of her armor in the first place. Not as bad as wearing full plate armor or something but it still took a hot minute to do properly.

Eventually she made her way out from the changing room without shoes on but wearing the tshirt with purple stars on it underneath a button down shirt, left open, and also wearing a pair of jeans that she looked rather uncomfortable with the tightness of. "Hey, uh Rosalyn... why do people here like their trousers to fit like leather gloves? It's so weird. Definitely need to get looser jeans than these for me." Technically it looked pretty good on her and most of her misgivings were just her own experience with clothing but still.

"I'm pretty sure I would have gotten lost in here without your help," she laughed as she spun around a little and glanced in a mirror nearby. "Just uh, I dont want to go overboard here. I'm just on my stipend- I guess maybe I should get a job. Just... we felt weird trying to get settled here if we make it back home again permanently"

It was a very candid admission but she avoided really getting too far into it by slipping back into the changing room with the alternate jeans.

After again slipping back out of the changing room Seyyal waved to catch Rosalyn's attention and turned around slowly to show off the replacement jeans. They still looked good but now they felt a little more comfortable for her.

"I guess you could take a job and then leave it later if you needed to. Traveling back and forth probably isnt too bad," she reasoned as she stepped over to take a look at the substitute items Rosalun had picked.

"I'm just worried we might manage to fix things and then one morning we just wont wake up here anymore."

Seyyal smiled at the praise and looked in a nearby mirror. She certainly looked less out of place wearing more 'normal' clothes. Thank goodness she had someone to help her with it though.

"Hmm," she thought the suggestion over. "That might work. Though honestly I'm not entirely sure what kind of work I would even want to do. It's not like being an 'adventurer for hire' is a thing here. But if I do I'll definitely check in to see about using you as a contact." She decided she was happy with what she had tried on and gathered a couple other items Rosalyn had set aside for her to see.

"What makes you all want to go out to the farms though? If you dont mind me asking. I get the idea of that area being more comfortable the city is kind of overwhelming sometimes- but there must be more to it."
