Private Finished Moping Around

Tomo had barely gotten herself out of the community center and into a cat before she had collapsed under a nearby tree. But she wasn't feeling like sleeping. She felt like crying. And goddammit, she never cried! This was humiliating, stupid!
And Tomo deserved every bit of it.
Tomo curled up and if cats could sob she'd probably sound something like that.

Tomo smelled Tadashi well before he plopped down beside her, offering support. That was so much like Tadashi and it hurt. The kindness hurt: Tomo didn't deserve that kindness. And still she flipped onto her other side and stayed curled up, but was now curled up against Tadashi. She stopped sobbing and instead just stared at Tadashi's tail blankly.
"Ya know, it was so obvious she liked like that. She was blushin' and shit and when she actually confessed I... I was such an asshole. I was the kinda person I hate, the one that leads ya on and says they like ya like that too. But...she was so happy, ya know? I thought I liked her like that too. I really did. I wanted to. 'Cos Jii deserved that someone liked her back. I didn't deserve her, not by a long shot. Someone like me... Someone...dirty...doesn't deserve anyone. Someone like me. I shoulda just been axed down...I really do bring bad luck..."
Maybe it was the lack of sleep but Tomomi just let it all out. She was too tired to set any walls or boundaries so she just puked it all out. And at the end of it she was staring at her own feet, or the foot that lacked two toes. Tomo could still feel the axe chopping them off, could taste her owner's blood in her mouth.

Tomo wanted to curl up smaller and smaller until she disappeared. Or she wanted someone to take out the trash. Both worked.
Tomo heard Tadashi's words but at the moment she really wasn't in the right mood to believe them. But she stashed them away to ponder later. Right now she just curled closer against Tadashi and turned her head enough to look at Tadashi when he asked her to do so.
Tomo sat up a bit, the tiredness still in her eyes but little on the side now.
"It's still my fault for playin' with somethin' I wasn't familiar with. I always get cocky, ya know? It frustrates me that my body's so small but I feel older. Bein' a cat is simpler. Or bein' dead..."
The rest of the sentence fades away, barely discernible.

Tomo was too depressed to notice she had hurt Tadashi with her words, and if she had noticed it would've made her even more depressed.
But Tadashi's words did have an effect. Tomo raised her head a bit and another cat could tell she was smiling a bit.
"I know I'm bein' a complete downer now, bro. But thanks for stickin' with me anyway. I just...need to mope now. Really roll in it. I don' actually wanna be dead. I only feel like I'll never be able to wash my hands, paws, whatever, of the one who is."
Tomo was referring to her owner, who she killed. Tadashi knew of it, Tomo figured he'd guess what she was talking about.
"An' if ya bite me I'll let ya. I figure I'd deserve it if it came from ya."
Tomo sounded a bit, just a bit, more cheery and cat grinned at Tadashi.

Tomo laughed weakly when Tadashi expected her to throw a tantrum. But instead she just draped herself on top of Tadashi and cat sighed.
"I don't got the energy to throw anythin'. I know I'm a brat but even I got calm lapses. Right now I just wanna lay here."
Tomo turned her head to stare at Tadashi's tail again.
"I don't wanna go back to just a cat. If I did I would regret all of it. I wanna stay here, as a person, with you an' all these weirdos on this island."
Tomo cat scoffed a bit and licked Tadashi's fur a bit.
"I'm so glad I found ya. Ya know that right?"
