He wasn't afraid. He knew he should have been, but he wasn't. The situation had just gotten deadly, and with the two of them there to fight it would be difficult. Despite this, he was distracted by the feeling of Trini's back against his chest. It felt nice, different from times before with the strangers he had met at bars and the like. Nevertheless, the task at hand was still imminent. There was no way they would both be able to escape, that much was clear and his mind cleared as he made his decision. He slowly placed his hand around her waist and gave a quick squeeze before stepping in front of her and facing the creatures.
"You run. I'll buy you time. If you get back to the school."

He started as he began the transformation, growing to nine feet tall, as fur started to sprout along his body, the clothing seemed to melt into his flesh as his legs grew more powerful. His arms lengthened to match the new form, eyes glowed a vibrant purple, large claws extended from his hands. Before his vocal cords finally changed he looked at Trini.
"Send some staff if you can." He added in a growling voice just as his transformation completed itself.

Fully transformed into his war form, he stood prepared, ready to fight this new threat and to protect this girl.

—————————————-

The doctor watched as the girl backed away into the boy and before that the boy backed up toward the woods. He couldn't let them just get away. That being said he was thoroughly surprised when the boy grew into a nine foot tall wolf monster hybrid. Suddenly he was excited, he desperately wanted to experiment on that creature. It was meant to be, he must cyberize him.
"Target the monster." He said into the microphone he was using to command the Jaguar.
———————————-

At his transformation the bear and Jaguar focused on Zachary. The bear lumbered forward first, and the Jaguar moved around to his left to flank him. The lines had been drawn.

She felt his hand press into her waist and give it a quick squeeze before pulling her back and stepping around her to take a position between her and the advancing creatures. She looked up in confused awe, her eyes trying to focus on anything but the wide set of his shoulders and the way his jaw muscles clenched before he began to speak.

"You run. I'll buy you time..."

His words reached her ears but she hoped that what she was hearing was wrong.

"What, I-" her mouth opened in a wordless protest as her attempt to refuse was ignored and he continued.

"If you get back to the school-"

She felt her brows furrow as she slowly began to shake her head, her mouth closing on a thin line of frustration; she wasn't just going to leave him there.

"Send some staff if you can."

The transformation was faster than what she had previously experienced and was honestly a lot more intimidating than the others, she had to take a few steps back to be able to crane her head enough to get a good look at his face. Her attention was soon attracted to the task at hand when she heard the hiss and growl from the mechanical monstrosities stalking around in front of them, she tore her eyes away from Zachary at that moment to observe what was happening and wasn't surprised to see that the jaguar's attentions had been revoked from her and centered onto the transformed Were-wolf. For a moment she felt a pinch of jealousy; she was going to have to run away to get help while her attractive acquaintance got all the glory for shielding her escape and taking down the mechanical horrors. Not that she wanted to take down any mechanical anythings, but the glory part sounded pretty nice to her.

"Don't die here, lobo," with a swift nod of her head and a soft hiss, she turned on her heel and booked it into the forest covering as fast as her human legs could carry her. With the added speed that her enhanced abilities gave her she felt she'd fair pretty alright, but if need be she knew she'd be able to shift and pick up whatever distance was between her and the exit in a matter of minutes, even if she was being pursued. Glancing once over her shoulder, she saw Zachary turn back to face the now spitting jaguar and hoped that he knew what he was getting himself into.

"Don't die here, lobo," Those weren't going to be the last words that he heard here. He had an escape route in mind but he had to buy time for her to do it. Here in the forest it wouldn't be hard to step into the umbra. The weavers influence was less, though the lab where he stood was going to be the worst bit.

It had occurred to him to escape with Trini, but he didn't know how to take anyone with him. Regardless, those were not the things he needed to focus on.

The bear charged first, using its bulk to try to overpower him. If it was a normal bear he would have just tossed it, but with the enhancements it wasn't feasible to do it quickly. Bearing that in mind he decided, mostly since Trini wasn't with him anymore, that it was time to use the Houzuki Horn. As the bear charged, a large, wide bone blade extended from his right forearm. As it drew near he dropped down on all fours, leading with his leg he extended the blade forward and slashed through the bend in the bear's front leg, then raised himself on his left hand, pivoting so that as the bear fell forward he could use the horn and the bear's momentum to cut through its side.

As the second move was completed and the bear tumbled forward, the jaguar made its move.

——————————

The doctor watched the beast damage the bear through the Jaguar's eyes and decided to settle on the prey that seemed less... total loss..y..

"Chase the girl. Hinder the monster on your way out." He ordered.

———————————

The Jaguar ran under the back of the bear as its body rolled forward, using the instant to slash Zachary's leg with one of the bladed wings on its back and taking off at a speed the werewolf couldn't hope to keep up with. Before he even knew what hit him, tendons were lashed and there was nothing he could do but heal. Then the bear got up, walking on bone and dripping blood and oil onto the ground.

He tapped into his inner rage and used it to kick his healing into full gear. With this he would be able to fight and heal at the same time. He then swiped directly in front of him, aiming for the bear's leg but seemingly too far away. Again his inner rage began to boil and he envisioned the blade hitting. Suddenly the bear's previously uninjured front leg took damage just as if it had been cut by the bone blade.
"Tarr urrin tarsss rarssurrss." He growled, using the Garou's language to say "May Gaia restore your soul." With that he stood, on the still healing leg, walking as it healed, then running when it finished, leaping into the air and coming down, using the momentum to cut into the creature's neck.

As the head hit the ground he howled low and loud as he shifted again, this time to Hispo form, taking off after Trini's scent, the bear sized wolf made huge strides on four legs, the bone blade disappearing with the transformation as he took off at full speed. (Rage 6/8 Gnosis 4/4)

Trini had been running through the forest for a while and had just about made it back to where she had first met Zachary in that small clearing when she heard something behind her. For a brief moment, she thought it was Zachary and she stopped, hoping to turn and find the tall stranger she had met standing behind her, instead she got a face full of fur and a shoulder full of metallic claws. With a yelp of surprise and pain, she tumbled back, her fingers becoming claws as she latched on to the creatures shoulders and shifted with the roll. Her back hit the ground as a spitting mass of angry fur and muscle, almost mirroring the large beast that was still boring into her right shoulder with it's own altered claws. She roared loudly and tucked her lower paws close to her stomach before kicking out violently and sending the thing flinging over her head with the momentum of their fall. She regained her footing quickly after she sent the mechanical beast flying and stood, breathing heavily, over the tattered remains of the coat she had been wearing.

'F-fuck,' she cursed inwardly and glanced around the forest clearing, trying to get a good look at her surroundings before she really got into it with her attacker. Her eyes caught sight of the altered jaguar from before and she let out a low warning growl, she had never fought with an actual animal like this before, let alone a mechanically altered one, and didn't know exactly what to expect; she did know that she had to get out alive which meant taking out anything in her way. The whirring she heard before sounded in her ears and she saw the felix rise to it's feet and stare her down with it's odd red eye, the pupil dilating as it focused on her. She sized him up as they slowly began to circle each other and she noticed the blood dripping from its extended razor wing tips.

'Zachary,' she thought as her eyes trailed over the blood that obviously didn't belong to the mecha-jaguar, 'Something...something must have happened to him.'

The mere thought that something had happened to him after she had been sent to get help made her blood boil and she let out a violent snarl; the opposing cat lowered himself to the ground, spitting in response and swiping out threateningly with it's claws in reaction to her threatening vocalization. Taking that as an invitation, she bounded forward, leaping onto the creature and burrowing her face into it's neck. Her jaws bit down into fur and muscle and she jerked her head back, tearing flesh and listening to the painful yowling in her ears before she was thrown back by the felix's own force. It wasn't long before the two of them became a wrestling mass of claws and teeth and the battle for escape as well as survival ensued.

He had to hurry. His master had once demonstrated a gift where he could run fast enough to be a blur. How desperately he wished he had learned more gifts now that he had need of them. He covered ground as quickly as he could, his leg had healed by this point and he couldn't very well use that as an excuse as to why something had happened to Trini. As fast as he was running he couldn't even track. The only thing he was going on at the moment was her scent, at least until he heard the roar. Focusing in on that, he tracked it to the best of his ability working to get there before anything horrible happened.
"Come on Trini hold out till I get there." He thought desperately as he bounded, leaping over fallen trees and rocks, stopping when he finally reached the clearing where they had met. If they survived this, he was resolute in making sure he came out here with a pack and took out the place these monsters were coming from.

——————-

The doctor watched from the camera in the jaguar's eye as it fought the other shifter. It then occurred to him that she might be a jaguar version of the boy that he had watched destroy his bear beyond any hope of repair, and he had visions of the same thing happening to his jaguar. He had been ill equipped to handle a threat such as this and he definitely wasn't about to lose his last project to the likes of these monsters.
"Abort capture proceedings. Data has been gathered, escape to a safe place and transmit before returning." He ordered.

———————

The creature hissed and snarled, before backing up a few steps. When Zachary saw this he thought about what had happened to his leg. The beast might be getting ready for the same cutting attack. With that he shook his head, charging forward and shifting as he ran.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion after that. One minute she was in control, trying to fight her way out of the forest and the next she was fighting to the death over territory she felt the need to defend, the thought of escape replaced by that of defend and destroy. She knew what was happening, could hear the roaring of adrenaline in her ear and the yowling of her inner feline as it fought for dominance. She couldn't remember when she gave up that fight and assumed it had happened some time when she had felt her attacker's jaws clamp tightly around her neck. Trini knew she had managed to get out of that kill move thanks to the instincts of her inner feline, an animal who naturally knew how to defend itself; where as she was still learning how to understand hers. The loss of control felt like a numbing weight, almost as if she had fallen asleep and was dreaming; she could still feel what was happening, the ghost pains of the bites and claws that were being exchanged between the two of them, she just couldn't control her movements or actions.

An earthly snarl escaped her throat and she knew it wasn't her own. She had lost control and she didn't know how to get it back. A noise off to the side caught her attention and she managed to use her feline's distraction to get a look at what it was that was barreling through the trees; at first she thought it was the bear from before, come to finish her off after it had taken care of Zachary. The feline turned away from the figure too quickly, throwing of Trini's view and focusing back on the now retreating attacker.

'Mia, mia,' a snarl began in the back of Trini's mind and she recognized it as that of her inner feline. The voice seemed to grow in volume and urgency the more their eyes focused on the mechanical jaguar, 'Mi territorio!'

She was surprised to be able to understand it and even more surprised by how angry it sounded. The creature honestly felt like it was defending a piece of territory from an intruder.

'No, tienes que parar ... tenemos que salir, estamos fuera contados!*' she pleaded inwardly with the voice, trying to get it to back down so she could take control again. Her words were drowned out by another roar as her body lowered and prepared to spring, 'No!'

The power in her legs launched her forward and into another body, one that didn't belong to her current target. A yowl of confusion erupted from her feline's mouth and she felt her claws dig into muscle as she scrambled to retreat from the unexpected wall of flesh that had seemingly sprung from no where.

*No, you need to stop...we need to escape, we're out numbered!

His inner rage was released in a burst as he shifted in a shower of what looked like tattered fur cloth, into the hulking nine foot tall man beast hybrid war form, and he gripped Trini's torso, letting her do what she would to his body and his hand as he lifted her. (rage 5/8) Meanwhile with his other hand he used his rage to boost his reaction time (think like in the movie "wanted") and as the mechanical jaguar bounded forward for the cut attack it had used earlier he gripped the blade, letting it slice through his right hand and using that and the grip he had made to lift the creature up and slam it on the ground, attempting to go head first. (rage 4/8) The whole process seemed like one motion but it was three for him as the Garou's speed took hold.

The mechanical beast twisted, landing on its legs which took bent awkwardly from the strain and he roared a huge ferocious sound as he tossed it against a tree, letting go to just so the blade would slide properly out of his hand. The pain of it all was excruciating but he used the pain to keep himself from going into a berserk rage. At first the beast attempted to stand, but it was obvious that the damage it had sustained wasn't going to allow it to continue the fight and it turned to run away. He let it go, focusing instead on Trini, turning just then to see her reaction, only now focusing on the pain in his body from her claws.

Trini could feel them being lifted into the air by whatever they had crashed into during their tackle of a leap, after a moment of snarling and thrashing they managed to wriggle free from whatever was holding them and fall to the ground, twisting to land on their feet before bolting a short distance to what they felt was safety. Upon looking back and staring through the eyes of her feline form, Trini was surprised to see a familiar being looming before them.

'Zachary...' the name drifted into her mind and a wave of relief washed over her, 'Oh, dios mios, I'm so glad you're alright.'

Her words fell on deaf ears as she muttered this inwardly, her feline form still very much in control and extremely angry over the fact that another beast had entered into something that she considered her territory. With a low growl Trini felt herself lower to the ground, her ears falling flat on her head as she opened her mouth and barred her fangs in a threatening hiss, completely ignoring the fact that they had just witnessed Zachary toss the mechanical jaguar across the clearing like a rag doll.

'Lobo,' the low growl of the still angry feline rumbled in the back of Trini's mind and she was grateful to hear that it sounded a bit weaker than before, almost as if it were becoming tired. She sympathized with the beast, thankful to it for stepping in when she didn't think she'd be able to handle the situation, but fearful of the fact that if it stayed in control any longer it might attack Zachary, something that was the last thing she wanted to happen tonight.

'Por favor, no más, que tanto hizo bien esta noche, mi bestia, así que por favor....*' she pleaded with it and felt another snarl escape her throat as they continued to glare up at Zachary, watching him as he turned and stared down at them, his bi-pedal form as intimidating as ever.

*'Please, no more, we both did well tonight, my beast, so please...'

His wounds were healing quickly... the ones that the robotic jaguar had inflicted. The ones that Trini had inflicted were taking their time.
"As expected..." He though to himself with a sigh. Wounds from supernatural creatures healed slower, it was unfortunate but despite being different from the Balam she was still a shifter and that made her claws potential dangers. Then she growled at him. Had she frenzied? It was common among his kind and the Balam, but it was a concern nonetheless.
Still, he was an alpha. He led a pack and he was accustomed to taking control when need be.

He crouched low and snarled, keeping his tail in a position to say "don't even think about it" the fur on his back stood straight up and he opened his mouth into a wide, loud, snarl, standing up to look more intimidating. The goal of course being to cow the beastial mind into submission, but it wasn't a power, it was a tactic. He could only hope it worked because he wasn't looking forward to a fight or to having to track her down.

Seeing that her soft words were useless, she steeled herself and growled out a hard demand rather than a soft plea.

'Retirarse, bestia, no necesitamos pelear más.'

This seemed to work as she could feel her body relaxing and could hear the growling begin to subside. She had all but calmed down her inner feline and took back control when she heard Zachary let out a warning growl of his own and snarl intimidatingly at her. She felt her clawed paw swipe threateningly at the air in front of her in an attempt to keep Zachary from coming any closer and she knew that her attempts at calming the feline down had been hindered by whatever it was he thought he was doing. She could tell that there wasn't much of a fight left in her though, so she continued to force her own will, trying to get back what she almost had.

'Retirarse...'

Her voice was low and stern, a command that she hoped would be acknowledged. And after a tense moment, Trini flexed her claws, relieved to find that they reacted as she wished. The numbness that had been hanging over her slowly vanished, replaced instead by a steady flow of aching torture. The wounds she had received from her previous battle catching up with her and giving her a head rush. Shaking her head slowly, she attempted to rise from her lowered position on the ground and felt her legs struggle to hold her up right. Trini was glad that she was back in control and that what looked like a deadly situation had ended thanks to Zachary's intervening, but the pain that followed was too much for her.

"Zach ... eres ... gracias a Dios que estás b-bien-" she took a few steps forward before collapsing again to the ground, her eyes rolling back into her head as she began to lose consciousness, "Y-yo sólo voy a ... cierro los ojos ..."

Trini felt her eyes close and the world went dark, the pain forcing her to sleep and shift so that she could properly heal in the process. Upon passing out, her body changed, the damaged jaguar melting into that of a dark haired girl. Her unconscious form lay on her stomach, her cheek pressed into the ground as the bites and scratches she had sustained from her battle slowly sizzled and healed over, a few of the deeper wounds remained, but had stopped bleeding for the time being and would heal fully over time.

*'Stand down, beast, we don't need to fight.'
*'Stand down.'
*"Zach...you're...thank God you're okay."
*"I-I'm just going to...close my eyes..."
