Wei was busily chatting up the people who loitered around, which was probably one of his strong suits. He laughed with them and moved between several conversations, never really losing track of where he was. For the first time in a while, Wei felt good. He felt like he was in top form. He could take on the world right now.

Several of the same people went back to his box, picking and repicking and throwing dud cookies at their friends. Wei dusted crumbs out of his hair.

"Oh!" he said, and refilled Marina's box with another one stashed behind the pillar. always be prepared.

When the casual fans and random people that wanted freebies left, her more intense advocates gathered around her, and it was starting to get a little overwhelming. Barrages of questions came from all her sides and she answered all of them with extreme, practiced efficiency like any cool kid should, prioritizing the important ones over the stupid ones. 'Marina, I heard you're a man eater!' Fuck off, in all honesty.

She gave new people cookies and seconds for the people that stayed, and eventually, the hype did die down. Marina sighed in relief and stretched her limbs, looking back at Wei.

"Wild, huh?"

Wei waved goodbye to the people he'd been talking to, claiming that he would 'definitely win' and that he 'had their vote'. He wanted to laugh, rub the back of his neck and be embarrassed, especially since Marina was watching him right now. One of his hardcore adversaries was watching him interact and campaign, and he knew they he wouldn't get anywhere without her knowing.

With a heavy heart, Wei wondered if her was actually doing well.

Then he let it go with a low exhale and turned back to her with a smile. "Wild indeed!" He said with a laugh, stacking the empty boxes with an energy that made one forget he'd just been running around talking to potential voters. "How was that? How do you like the 'Campaign Wei' experience?"

Marina clapped her hands excitedly. "Very hands on! Good job! I can respect that! You know, with the way you're talking to them, they might even think you're their buddy! That's a really good way to be seen by the public, but you gotta be careful with that. If you don't put some distance between you and them, they're going to start thinking you're their friend or something. And you know voters who think they're close to you." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Political favors. They're going to nitpick at you and take everything you have to offer little by little. Yikes. Be careful with that."

Wei tilted his head at Marina, honestly confused by what she was saying. Last time he'd run he did this too, and it had gone fine. No one had asked him to do anything he didn't want to do as secretary--they even respected his decision to take a position lower than the one he won.

But Marina was better at him when it came to the whole, being popular thing, so he smiled and nodded. She probably knew what she was talking about. "Alright! Thanks, I'll watch out for that."

He reached into his backpack, where he had a small box containing a few more fortune cookies. He offered this to Marina, to take one just to eat. These had no paper in them. "What do you have planned this year?"
