Manta Carlos, a truly incredible city, Corvo found it fascinating, and as a bard he'd found his way to a bar. Though they didn't seem to require his services, so he'd pulled up a city and gotten a beer.

The dragon/elf warrior bard and former pirate had taken up residence in his airship, with exploration trips in the city being common. He took a swig of his brew, the chatter of the other patrons filling the room, wasnt really different from the inns of his world, he supposed things like this didn't change much from realm to realm.

He finished his beer and got another, before turning to watch the others. They were a loud, rambunctious bunch, the bouncer was already keeping an eye on a few of them. Yes, like a powder keg, just waiting for a spark.

Jelly licked her lips as she sat in the corner of the bar, sipping her appletini as she looked out over the bar. She saw her target sitting alone at a table, a gaunt man in a rumpled suit, looking over some papers. Stanley Jellar, an up-and-coming biochemist.
And a soon to be corpse.

She didn't know why exactly her current employer wanted him gone, maybe he was stepping on someones toes in the industry, or maybe he just pissed off the wrong person. Either way...

She fingered the handle for one of her knives, looking around at the other patrons before her eyes settled on a loud bunch of patrons, her eyes widening. They would do nicely, yes. She stood up and sashayed over to the bar and sent a shot of whiskey over to the table.

The bartender delivered a shot, informing the rowdy bunch that it was from the girl at the bar, and for the 'hot one'. The men began to argue, and naturally someone threw a punch. Like flipping a switch, it was on.

Nearly the entire bar was either in the brawl, or watching. It made it childs play to stroll over behind her target and drive her blade through the base of his spine. The kill was quick and clean, and Jelly was on her way out moments later, the fight escalating in the background. A smile spread over her face as she flicked the blood off her blade, relishing in the gleam. The wolf inside was satisfied, for now.

She was good, very good. Of course he didn't get a direct look, but he picked up the scent of steel mixing with blood andche could hear her moving away from her kill. Yes she was good, the others in bar wouldn't notice he was dead for a bit, plenty if time for her to slip away unnoticed. Or at least she thought she was unnoticed.

Finishing his second beer he grabbed two more, now in his own world he'd been an assassin at one point, then something of a heroic pirate. So he'd killed plenty, after leaving the wetwork business he'd developed very strict rules about who he was willing to kill. So overall he didn't judge her, he was curious about her though.

Rising from his seat, he followed the scent to the source, a woman, wolf ears, quite the looker. Corvo tilted his head and gave a mischievous smile, "hello there, hope I'm not interrupting anything, looked like you could use a drink."

Just before Jelly could slip out of the bar, she was stopped by a taller male who was holding a pair of bottles. Her face spread into a matching smile as he tilted his head and greeted her. Ah, the perfect escape!

Jellys tail started to wag a bit behind her as she started to bat her eyelashes, turning and puffing her chest out slightly to emphasize her bust.

"Oh~ For lil' ol me? Why, you shouldn't have." She took the beer from him, smiling broadly as she sipped it.

"What brings you around here, Ma stratégie d'évasion?"

She asked, banking on her flirting to get her an excuse out of the bar. That, and this hunk of blond muscle didn't appear to to be anything resembling French. She hadn't met many people on this island who spoke her families native language, which was surprising to her seeing as it was the language of love but, hey.

If you've got it, Flaunt it.

Corvo didn't speak French, but he could tell what she was doing. "I'm new to the island, thought I'd take in the night life," he said with a flirting tone, "was hoping to find something interesting." She was attractive as well as skilled, though he had far more experience than her, probably in all regards.

The brawl behind the continued, though it wouldn't be long before people realized the man was dead, not passed out drunk. "Seems to be getting quite roudy," he took a sip of his own beer, "perhaps I could convince you to leave with me, its a beautiful night, perfect for a stroll."

He grinned just a bit, he was very charming for sure, to her it'd likely seem like he was playing right into her hands. "Oh, I apologize, I didn't introduce myself, I'm Corvo," he said giving a small bow.

"Perhaps I could convince you to leave with me, its a beautiful night, perfect for a stroll."

Jelly batted her eyelashes, playing into her 'swooned damsel' routine perfectly. How lovely, he was sitting here offering her the out she wanted. He wasn't exactly her type, a bit too muscular but she was sure she'd be able to figure something out. If worst came to worst she could escape to her saferoom if worst came to worst.

"Monsieur Corvo, would you be a dear and escort me home? It is after all a lovely night, but it's ever so eerie for a young girl like moi to be walking home alone." She batted her eyelashes and extended her hand to the larger man, seeming much like royalty as she introduced herself.

"Jessabelle Fontaine de La Roche, the pleasure is mutual, i'm sure Monsieur Corvo."

Oh she was good, her damsel act was flawless, but Corvo had been doing this for centuries, it was near impossible to fool him. "A pleasure," he gently took her hand and kissed it, ah yes, not so different from his time hiding among the nobles, killing those who were targeted, "and I'd be honored."

Offering his arm, he started to escort her in the direction of her choosing, "ah yes, the cool air, stars are out, a beautiful." He smiled charmingly, "I might be the one escorting you, but I feel that I should be thanking you."

He could have killed her, summoned his spear or sword and it'd be over, but that would be boring, and he didn't want to do anything against her. At least not until he knew more about her. "So, what brought you to this island," his accent was exotic, charming, "I haven't had the chance to explore much of it."

Jelly laughed daintily at the way Corvo had kissed her knuckles, and she played into the role she had taken by taking his arm and leaning into the taller male. She continued to laugh at his compliments, batting a hand at his chest as her tail wagged back and forth. She leaned into Corvo as they walked, slowly leading the warrior in the vague direction of her apartment building. Things were going swimmingly so far.

"Ooh, well after my family passed away in an accident, I had nowhere else to go."

She let her voice hitch as she explained it, not technically lying. Once her families estate burned down, she took the insurance money and left. Couldn't go home if there wasn't a house there, after all.

"This island is magnifique~ Such lovely sights~."

She almost purred as she ran a hand over his chest, her tail whipping around behind her as she walked along with Corvo.

"I see, well I'm happy you made it here," it was a bit difficult telling which things she told him were true and which were false, but he did mean what he said about being happy she came here. "I myself came from another realm, so you can imagine my surprise to everything," a bit of truth, he wouldn't go into to much detail, after all telling everything would take away the fun.

"Yes, this island seems truly fascinating," he smiled, "things here you don't see anywhere else, brings people together." He was enjoying this, this banter, "a place like this...you never know who you'll meet, how you'll meet them." He chuckled a little, "take us for example, coincidence bringing us together, can't help but be grateful for it."

In truth a part of him had been worried he'd find the island boring, but he'd quickly grown to love it. "May I ask what is it you do?" he was curious about her, had to have some sort of cover, social life beyond assassin work.
