Inscius did not seem to mind the staring at their lack of an eye. In fact they always found it kind of funny, to be entirely truthful. People had marveled at it or become grossed out by the concept. It was always entertaining to hear people ask for a story when there never was one. People always tried to suggest things, maybe saying they forgot from some traumatic event but the deity always knew the truth behind their own body.

They chuckled as if they expected it. "Yes, Immortal. They're a lot more common than you would think, you know. I know a few more who are inhabiting the same island." Inscius mentioned, "It's just a matter of finding them."

"Ah. Well it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance then, Cairo." They gave a wink - or would it be a blink since they only had one functioning eye as of right then? Would that have to do with the pendant around their throat? They offered a hand to shake to the other.

"Yes. I have people close to me who are immortal. It's just- without this island it would be hard to know such things. Out in the rest of the world, asking such a question would make you get weird looks." He smiled coyly. "I found you- but it wasn't your immortality that drove me to you." Cairo winked back, shaking their hand. "You as well. I do have to say that you are quite an eye catcher. There was something about you that seemed so- foreign and frankly exciting." Cairo removed his hand and sat upright in his barstool.

The deity shook the others hand with a smile, a knowing glint in their eye at his commentary. The outside world, if he could call it that, was always entertaining to him. Normal here was absolutely bizarre out there. What was bizarre here was considered nightmarish or apocalyptic for the rest of the world. Standards were relative, and normal was laughable.

A smirk curled onto their features at Cairo's commentary on how he had been drawn to the dream walker. They tilted their head curiously, a palm holding up their chin as they inquired, "And what, dare I ask, lead you to my doorstep today?" A new face who had yet to actually be active at their parties suddenly showing up? And finding them with such ease, grasping their attention with the firm grip? They were curious.

Inscius found themselves in no way foreign. They considered themselves a native - they had been here for years and lived out many years on the island. "What would you call as foreign and exciting, my dear?" They asked, picking up their drink and taking a sip with a raised brow.

He wasn't sure exactly what it had been, but there was something... Almost perfect about them. Even on this island, it was hard to find things that were out of the ordinary for an island that was filled with it. It was bizarre and somewhat crazy to think about the weirdest of the weird capital. He paid no mind to it, and answered their question. "I suppose, your presence. Everyone here is trying too hard to be noticed, but you allow yourself to be seen for who you truly are. Even if that process doesn't reveal much."

Cairo nodded his head. He thought for a moment, adjusting his outfit before answer the next question. "Something that is unconventional. I could have one up to you and asked why you only have one eye, but I chose not to, as there were more important questions." He leaned in. "Such as, why are you alone at your own party, or why you chose to go to that seat, rather than being closer or further away from me?" He chortled. "I nit pick sometimes."

They found that response rather entertaining. They just found it entertaining to be able to sit at the bar and just watch people interact. Inscius' face wasn't unseen for the company, but certainly it was not the most recognizable for the brand - their name wasn't much either. Everything was signed with heavy cursive and a spade's symbol.

Inscius leaned in and smirked. "Now if you asked about my eye, that would make you a little more disappointing, my dear. Everyone notices the eye." They leaned back to down the rest of their drink, waving the bartender as a request to fill their drink again.

"When you host parties through the years, there is little that can be entertaining, you know.... Sometimes watching the guests is more entertaining than being among them, you see."

"Of course everyone would notice the eye. And I find it kind of rude on how that's the first thing that people notice. I mean obviously it's not there, but you don't need to make a big deal out of it and pointed out as if you don't know." He just looked at the other, and nodded to their statement about parties. "You're right about that. It seems like when you own big businesses or if you're a big social butterfly, that a lot of the times are hosting parties for other people and not yourself anymore." He leaned in. "But tonight, I feel like I was meant to come here to meet you."

Inscius just snorted a bit as Cairo continued to go on about their missing eye. They dazed out for a moment, lost in thought. Maybe eyepatches were coming back in style? They had seen a bunch of them around the city - not as common as people would think, but there were some people who made it look good.

"Do you now?" Asked the deity of dreams, sipping their drink. They smirked as they looked him over, crossing their ankles under their seat as they thought about their next words. "And why do you think that, m'dear? Fates aren't always kind - or were you asking them for a meeting with me tonight?" They purred.

He wasn't sure how to answer that. "I don't know exactly. I don't really know why I was drawn to come tonight, considering that I usually just say no to most of these parties because they're all the same." He looked at the other and smile just a little bit, moving his chair closer. "I guess I had a sense that tonight would be different, but I wouldn't be stuck dancing the people that I don't care about or getting looked at by creeps or older people." Cairo shrugged his shoulders and kind of just gave up on trying to explain it.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're already being hit on by a creepy and older person." They laughed a bit. Inscius was older than most on the island - save for some of the other gods on the island, probably.

They gave a smile, pushing their now empty glass aside to give their full attention to the man sitting beside him. They didn't seem to mind the close proximity.

"You're always welcome at my parties, Cairo. There will be some, ah, unsavory people here as at any party, but if you need some protection you're always welcome to find me~."

"well at least you don't act like either. You can hide your age rather well." Cairo eyes them, putting his drink down and fully turning to them. He was intrigued. "And I'll... I'll keep that in mind. Perhaps bring my boyfriend next time, so he had meet you?" He wanted Insci to know that he wasn't fully on the market.
