"How did you deal with winters there?" he'd ask curiously, "here you can get heat charms, magic items aren't as common in the outside world." He'd take a sip of his tea, chuckling a bit at the story, "well at least you had an excuse for falling asleep in class," falling asleep in school seemed like a stereotypical teen thing.

Aedan would tilt his head, listening to her answer about her snack preference. "Yes, that makes sense," he'd nod and eat some his jerky and taking a sip of his tea. "I usually get strong or spicy drinks and food, because I don't have much of a sense of taste," he'd say with s chuckle, "it's a lot weaker than most."

"So, in high school?" he'd ask, "I could tell you were probably a teenager, but I wasn't sure." Her height made telling her age a bit more difficult than it would with most.

"Lotsa coats. And a thermo full of anything hot to help me heat up. I legitimately had to skip classes on very cold days after a trip to the nurse's office when they concluded nothing could be done, a few times I let a controlled fever go on for long to keep me awake. Although It is risky to do so, let a fever run and something more serious could happen.", good thing she was conscious of the dangers too...

As she munched on the sweetness of cookies and sipped on coffee, Basté listened to Aedan explain of his own taste and ponder of her being in high school. "Yes, high school. And don't be surprised, I get a lot of "You look like an adult" reactions to me. Even my mother used to say that, albeit jokingly.", and it wasn't hard to imagine her amusement at that, considering the smug expression

"Winter will be here soon," he'd take a sip of his tea, "you may want to get a heat charm." He'd chuckle, "you're lucky you weren't here last year, island got hit by an enchanted snow storm, there was piles and piles of snow everywhere." Luckily that mess had been resolved, it'd have definitely been hard on her.

He'd chuckle at her smug look. "You definitely look a bit older than that," he'd eat a piece of his jerky, "age can weird on the island though, lots of immortals and people with longevity." It was certainly something he had to adjust to, people not looking their age.

"Ok, so how old are you then?" he was guessing sixteen or seventeen. "And how old do you think I am?" he was nineteen, but like her he looked older, by a few years at least.

"I got Amaterasu with me.", she made the ball of light within a hand, let it drop on the table briefly and absorbed it before it could burst, "Although if the cold gets too intense then I will get the heat charm as needed." Basté gave a few nods in response to his statement on her looking older than him, and also on immortals or people with unknown life span.

With the question of her age, and her guess on his own, she first gave a chuckle and guessed Aedan's first: "About you, let's see... Beyond high school, so probably eighteen or more, looks too handsome to be beyond twenty-five. If I am to guess... Twenty-one?", she certainly got it wrong, but what was her age? "And me, well, I'm sixteen. I don't look like it at all, right? Imagine I can grow TALLER."

"What is Amaterasu?" he'd ask curiously, he'd ask, looking at the orb curiously. "In guessing some sort of guardian spirt?" it wasn't a super uncommon thing on the island, there was every type of magic imaginable there. "How warm can it get?" the ionic energy he produced didn't have a temperature.

"Too handsome?" he'd chuckle, "if you werent saying that so...factually and casually I'd think you were flirting with me." Another drink of his tea and he'd set his now empty cup to the side. "I'm nineteen, be twenty in January, people have usually thought I was older."

He'd nod, "I was guessing around sixteen or seventeen, your tall, but your face still has that youth about it, cute and youthful." The small pixie would return, refilling their drinks if they wanted.

"Amaterasu is the Sun Deity of Shinto, as for this that I used is just a small fraction of her power that was contained in a gem I absorbed. As for how warm it can get, I'd say it's as warm as a summer morning.", she put it simply, mainly there was no need to overexplain what she couldn't fully understand herself. Basté had yet to find more legendary essences.

However Aedan soon brought up the idea of her flirting him, and so she became as smug as a snake, responding "Maybe I am, but I don't see you objecting." Perhaps she just felt like teasing him, or that has never occurred her before.

As her coffee was refilled, her cookies had already been long gone, but she paid no mind. The coffee would be enough to keep her nicely warm. "Heh, you flatter me. I kind of got my mom's face, but coupled with my dad's androgynous appearance, you can just guess me and my siblings are quite on the cute side.", no denying she was amused by that.

"Oh a divine avatar," he'd say, looking at her curiously, "don't know much about shinto gods, but theres lots of demigods on the island, so a chance you might meet a kid of hers here." He was always curious about how people reacted to meeting the children of the gods they worshiped.

He'd chuckle. "An attractive girl flirting with me, don't see anything to object to or complain about about," he'd say with w playful smile, "as long as you don't mind me flirting back."

"Got a big family back home?" he'd take a sip of his refilled tea, "I haven't been to the narrow reality in a while. Been space plenty of times for work, but haven't seen much of off island stuff in a long time." It was odd really, like many he'd come here from off island, but now he had little reason to leave, it was home.

"At this point it'd be unsurprising if I came across a literal God in here. Bonus points for ELDER GOD.", there was no way such thing would surprise Basté now. Either that or a trip to the Forbidden Forest in the future could possibly change her mind, but who knows really?

Comically, the flirting game between the two had her blushing lightly with a "Yes, I really like it, specially from someone who understands my passion for the steed of steel." in response. When asked about her family, she shook her head and gave a very direct response in regards to that, as well as being off island:

"It's currently just me, my two siblings, and my mother. My father died in the duty as a firefighter, and surprisingly he was very welcome among humans despite being clearly an alien. No, not just welcome, he was recognized well among his coworkers for working hard in rescuing people before the fire could be controlled, he was pretty much flawless in that aspect."

He'd chuckle. "Oh you will, you've probably talked to a few and not even realize it," he was curious about how newcomers reacted to meeting actual gods.

"And it seems I've got you blushing a bit," he'd say with a playful smirk, "looks good on you, looks cute." He was enjoying the back and forth they were having, even if she seemed a bit inexperienced with flirting.

"Sounds like you admired him greatly," he knew what that was like, to admire one's father. "Do you intend on being a fire fighter like him?" he'd ask, taking a sip of his tea. "Here you'll have magical resources as well."

There was no denial, if she did meet them and didn't know it could be for better or worse. Likely better, who knew what the sight of an Elder God could do to Basté's sanity? But when should she bother about that again? Certainly not now, as the presence of Aedan and their flirting one another was good to make the night more amusing.

"Your words are charming me, Aedan. Not that I'd object at all, of course.", it was also helping her stay warm, as her blood gave a light magenta glow to her cheeks. Literally glowing at that! When talked about her father, Basté didn't hide her admiration at all: "He was an example in many ways, always there for us and his job, nothing seemed to faze him at all. He didn't even fear losing his life. So if I can honor him, I will of course."
