"Oh my, you've already had quite the interesting life," he'd tilt his head, thinking a moment, "well, I could always use a sparring partner, could be fun to see if you have the skills to go with that story." He'd drop the glowing orb, which would break up and vanish on the ground.

He'd motion to the track. "One lap?" Aedan would stretch and lean back, tightening his gloves and adjusting his helmet. "I can drive all night if you wanna keep going after," he'd say with a playful smirk, "assuming I get some food in me a few times before now and then."

Aedan would lower the visor on his helmet. "When you're ready Bastet," he was ready to race, plus it was against an attractive girl, which made it a bit better.

"Sparring partner, eh? Sounds interesting. I don't have many, specially since my sword shattered and I was barely able to absorb Amaterasu.", as Basté stopped flicking the coin in the air, she gave a small nod in agreement to it being one lap, before adding: "No tricks, no traps, just speed and skill. We'll then hit a place to snack at."

"As for when we start, that's what this coin is for. As soon as it clinks on the ground, we zip, got it?"
, she waved the coin and warmed up her engine, "Get ready!" Those words would be followed by her flicking the coin high in the air, her focus immediately shifting to her bike and the track. It was just shy from five seconds, in the span of that she went from a casual rider to one who could be called Rider with capital "R".

And when the coin landed, the exact moment it gave its faint "clink!", Basté darted as fast as she could.

"Amaterasu?" he'd ask curiously, "you'll have to tell me what that is over the snacks." His first guess was that it was some sort of guardian spirt of some sort that was bonded to her, either way he'd find out soon enough when they chatted after the race.

The coin would fall, his enhanced hearing picking up the sound of it landing. Then he was off, his motorcycle roaring as it took him forward, keeping up with Bastet. Now he wasn't super intent on winning, having fun would be quite enough for him, he wasn't all that competitive anyways.

So he'd keep up with her, through the turns, his bike being a finely turned machine and so was he. Yet despite that, he didn't win, perhaps because of his lack of competitiveness when it came to racing. Either way, as the race ended Bastet would just barely pull out in front.

"Well...it seems I owe you...whatever it is you want," he'd say with a chuckle, lifting up his visor, "I'll pay for the snacks too."

Her racing technique was similar, if not same, to that of actual racers, leaning into the curves dangerously and heavily focused on every detail of the track. And as she crossed the finishing line she came to a skidding stop. Lifting the visor she gave a smirk and told him "I might be young, yes. But I know my ride well, and techniques for racing. And there's a lot of practice involved too."

"Let's hit the place of your preference and have something. I'd like something warm before I get into brumation, and brumation is... Quite annoying to say the least."
, yep, Basté didn't deny that she had the same problem that reptiles had, which would probably rise some more questions... "You'll lead me this time, okay?"

He'd return her smirk with one of his own. "It was fun, we'll have to race again sometime," he'd perhaps do a few things a little different. "Brumation?" he'd ask curiously, tilting his head, "reptile hibernation?" There was no judgment in his voice, there were a good number of reptile beings on the island, he was just curious.

"All right, let's go," pushing his visor back down, he'd motion for her to follow him and off he went, headed towards the city. The shop wasn't far, looked small on the outside, he'd pull up outside of it, pulling off his helmet and his gloves. "Doesn't look like much, but the snacks and food are great."

"So, Bastet," he'd look at her curiously as he got off his bike, "you a student?" Tall or not she looked young enough to be a student. "Whatcha think of the school?" He'd lead her in, she'd find that the building was bigger on the inside than it looked like on the outside, it was filled with delicious smells. "I usually order some tea, want some?" the menu, which floated magically in the air had quite the variety of options.

"Yea, like reptiles. I'm literally cold-blooded. Neither of my parents had to deal with it, nor my siblings, somehow I'm the only one. That's why I eat chocolate or have drinks to warm or perk me up.", and explaining that she soon lowered her visor and followed him towards the shop. It was still commendable how she would ride on her bike even if she were vulnerable to hibernate to the cold wind, but perhaps her adrenaline was keeping her wide awake.

Once at the shop of his choosing, Basté removed her helmet and gloves as well, following him in. "Yeah, still studying. I find it really nice and relaxing most of the time, but tests have been getting under my skin lately.", her eyes hovered the menu briefly, before she made her choice: "I'll have a large coffee, black. And some chocolate chip cookies."

"Tests could be a pain for sure," he had enhanced intelligence so he probably never struggled quite as much as her. "You still in high school?" he'd order very strong tea and some spicy meat snacks, paying for both orders, "wait until college, it's great, you'll love it, challenging stuff but depending on what you go into you'll have more flexibility."

He'd motion to a table and took his seat. "So, besides the bike riding how do you usually deal with stress?" he'd ask curiously as they waited for their snacks. "For me its training and a few other things," he had a good number of solor activities, as well as things he did with others.

A server would appear, a small floating fairy carrying a tray larger than her, she'd set the items before floating off. "Ok, so why black coffee and cookies?" he'd ask genuinely curious about why that combination.

"That's what I hear, that College is when you get to chose the route you want to take. Ever since arriving I'm considering the idea of becoming a Scout and a Firefighter. You know, to get busy.", she didn't have huge ambitions, and following her father's steps was in the list. Taking seat at the table, Basté would ponder about other ways to rid of stress.

Very few responses came to mind, and a pattern was there: "Routine maintenance, giving him a shine, walks into the forest late at night. And what you know already." Late night wandering, her bike, such were her ways to free herself from stress, clear her mind for when she was stuck trying to resolve a troublesome thing or another.

Once their order had come, she took a bite of a cookie and sipped her coffee, before reaching out and touching Aedan's hand. It would be easy to feel, her body temperature was low for a human being. "I need to stay warm, that's why.", she responded, drawing her hand back to sip coffee and bit the cookie once more.

"Know what kind of courses you'll take in college?" he'd taken a good number of classes, enhanced intelligence certainly had its perks. "Something in machines perhaps? You seem handy at maintaining a motorcycle, working on machines is a skill that'll always be needed."

He'd tilt his head and chuckle a bit. "No parties?" he'd ask jokingly, "wild parties are usually something people in our age group enjoy." He wasn't a party animal by any means but he still occasionally enjoyed going to one.

"Yes, but why those foods?" he'd ask curiously, "for example, you chose black coffee, on it's own it might make someone think you don't like sweet things, but you got a chocolate chip cookie." He'd chuckle, "it's just an interesting combo."

"Mechanics is in my list, yes. Maybe laws, physics too. And as for parties, well... I miss having sleepover parties with my friends back in Japan. We would watch movies late at night, discuss theories on our favorite series. I have good friends there... They never bothered questioning my cold blood, even when they found out about it, they simply said something like "Well, now we know how you can sleep so easily in the winter.", and one time they played a prank and turned the AC on in the class.", of course that made her laugh a little, Basté found their pranks to be a fun for all except those who didn't know of her condition.

Reflecting on a different answer, she used words that were not her own, but rather borrowed: "Sweetness and bitterness, both are aspects of life. If we are to accept life to its fullest, we must appreciate every aspect, good or bad. The contrast in itself enhances the flavor of the other."
