The sound of the engine of a glorious thing, how it's been turned to perfection by the rider. Aedan loved his bike, loved maintaining it, loved riding it every chance he got. Today was no different, he'd driven a while, stopping to enjoy the cool breeze.

That was when he heard the other engine, well he'd heard it earlier but now it seemed to be getting closer. He'd turn toward the sound, watching curiously as a girl appeared, riding on the source of the sound.

He'd tilt his head and raise an eyebrow. "Evening," he'd say as the girl slowed. "Looks like we had the same idea for a good evening," he'd say with a small smile.

Nothing had been bothering her lately. Perhaps the lack of action had dulled Basté a bit, or it was the weather. It could be even the tests or lack of going out on high speed to get that burst of excitement within her. Once she put that helmet on and mounted on the Machine Tornador, it was as if she had become one with the bike... And on she went, for what felt like half an hour for her, but was really over a couple hours.

But of course not, she wasn't the only one riding to get her mind off things, there was someone else, she caught a glimpse through the corner of her eyes of another rider... Were his eyes glowing or was it her mind playing tricks? Keeping a lower profile, she followed him until he made his stop, and joining him shortly. As she took off her black helmet, Basté looked into Aedan's eyes.

She seemed indifferent towards him in returning the greeting, but warmed up after, smiling friendly. "Evening. ... Hah, seems as much. I always go for a ride, specially if I need to get things off my head, and the tests have been robbing me of my sleep.", and good thing she didn't get off her bike yet... Since she ALREADY looked tall on it.

"Oh we do it for similar reasons then," he'd say with a chuckle, his hand toying a bit with his helmet that hung from the handlebars. "Nothing clears t hth e head quite like the sound of the engine and the feel of the wind," that was how he'd felt with school related stresses as well.

"Can't say I'm stressing over tests though," he'd tilt his head, "graduated, so I just got have work to worry about." Which his job could get quite stressful, occasionally having space pirates try to kill you wasn't exactly the a calming job element.

"I'm Aedan," he'd ask with a smile, briefly looking both her and her bike over. "Guessing your new to the island?" it was hard to tell so many people coming and going but newcomers sometimes had a certain air about them.

"I like comparing the feeling to being free like a bird. Even if I cannot fly, just the wind against my body, the landscape zip by as I edge the limits, specially in the tracks in the rural area. Nothing beats that, except flying, that is. And my steed of steel, Machine Tornador, has always been by my side.", with gentle pats to her machine's fuel tank, Basté responded with her own words.

Since Aedan was graduated, she knew that he would encounter stress in a different medium: responsibilities with work. Thankfully, that stress she avoided thanks to the island not having the need for a demon hunter, being mostly peaceful and whatever little trouble there was had already people who would deal with it, and she could at least help demons and the like.

"Ah, I am Basté Rose Bywan, but you can call me Bastet."
, casually she used her full name, as it could perhaps ring a bell or two. Who knew... "I've been here for a while now, explored almost every corner of the main island, except the Forbidden Forest, that is."

"Yeah, the forbidden forest is an odd place for sure," he'd lean back a bit, "Wandered in there once or twice," he'd snort, "the reptile bears are weird indeed, also very hostile." He made a face, "a few people I know said they've actually hunted and eaten the things, I doubt weird hybrids like that taste good."

He'd chuckle, looking down at her motorcycle. "And it's fine look steed at that," he thought the rider looked pretty good too, but he wouldn't say that, at least not yet. "Take care of it yourself?" he'd ask curiously.

Sedan's glowing eyes would look her over one last time. "Looks good," he'd nod, and then smirk playfully, "but does it run as well as it looks?" He'd tilt his head, "could it say, beat mine?"

"The closest I got was the forest so far. Met a vampire, and a dragoness who had a huge dog as her loyal companion. Nice bunch there so far, plus is a great place to venture late at night. As for eating exotics, never had any. Would like to try some thing exotic someday, but more along the alien type of food my father had.", Basté made sure to specify "alien" with added emphasis to it.

Her pride on Machine Tornador was clear, Aedan's compliment added to it. "Of course I do! This beast was my "graduation gift" from a training I had. Cleaning, maintenance, I do all by myself. A lot of work, but worth every second and penny I spend with it.", she popped a bottle of chocolate caffeinated drink, a small one, from inside a pocket and downed it in one go, shortly tossing it into the nearby trash bin, the plastic bouncing around the rim and then falling in.

With a smug at his challenge, Basté responded "There's an easy way to find out... Let's ride to the rural area, with the track there we can speed all we want without getting in trouble with the law." Putting her helmet back on, she let her engine roar a bit before turning tail. And thus she headed off towards the rural area.

Should he follow her close enough, Aedan would notice Basté maintained her speed just shy from what the laws permits for the roads, and once she'd reach the rural fields she ramped up onto the large circuit, tracks of her bike's tires could be seen on it, and possibly many other's. At what seemed to be the starting line, she would await for him, creating a light ball in a hand and checking it.

Flashing a playful smirk he'd follow her, staying close, his bike's engine matching hers. In truth he didn't race much, it was fun but he rarely had a chance to do it. He'd pull up beside her, glancing at the orb in her hand.

"So, usually the winner of a race would get a reward," he'd say, adjusting his helmet, the visor lifted so he could talk. "A wager I guess," he'd say with a chuckle, adjusting the gloves he wore.

"If you win, what do you want?" he'd ask curiously, wondering what she'd ask for. "Assuming you can win," he'd say jokingly with a bit of a challenge.

"A wager you say...", she contemplated the orb of light for a little, before making it disappear in thin air, leaving the only lights visible as those from their motorcycles. What could Basté ask for him? More importantly: what did Aedan have to offer her? She contemplated her choices, eyeing the first turn that was far ahead from the starting line.

Perhaps an idea is... "If I win, I want to take a look into your line of business and be given the option work in it, how does that sound? Been a while since my training that I last saw any action after all...", and that itch for action was always there, she wanted anything, as long as she got herself moving and warmed up.

He'd chuckle. "Hon you don't need my help looking into a profession, and I cant really give you the option to work in it," he'd shrug, "who gets hired is up to my boss." He'd look her over, "besides you're probably to young to get into my line of work."

Aedan would form a small glowing blue ball, flipping it between his fingers. "So, you should probably pick another thing to ask for," he'd say with another chuckle, "something I can actually provide."

He'd yet to state what he'd ask for, mainly because he wasn't really sure what yet. "Hopefully your bike can keep up, it's nice looking but nice doesn't immediately equal speed."

Resting against the panel, she would respond "You are one of the few to notice I'm not a full adult yet. But I have been involved into some really tough stuff before. Like Youkai Hunting. Although better said I was working in correcting, exorcising or relocating youkais, depending on why or where they were rampaging. It's a fun field, a new face every day. Kinda miss it."

"I don't have much idea on what to ask for. What could you offer me? Maybe let's go for there. I'll give a little more details about myself: trained by a Yakuza clan called Oni Odori, daughter to a prosecutor and a fireman who was KIA. Think that should be enough for you to come up with something, Aedan?"
, taking out a single coin she flicked it into the air and caught it without even looking, doing that over and over.
