Zachary calmly strode into the coffee shop. It wasn't exactly like he was a major fan of coffee in general, but in the heat of the moment he had asked Max if she wanted to have coffee and it was refreshing once in a while. Nevertheless today he was all about the chai tea. The island didn't have a starbucks that he had seen, which made it difficult to find a coffee shop that carried it, but he finally did and immediately got in touch with Max.

It had taken him about a week to track her down, leading him to the conclusion that his tracking skills left something to be desired. He had even called in a favor from a friend and had tried to pull something up on her as far as contact information, but she was in any system anywhere except for the one here on the island and he wasn't going to start leaving electronic footprints all over Starlight Academy's severs. Still the experience had left him with several questions. If she wasn't in the system anywhere then she hadn't existed officially until recently, and with only a first name to go off of there wasn't exactly a great way to narrow it down. For the time being though he put it out of his mind, after all, everyone had skeletons in their closet and his weren't exactly something he would want someone delving into any way. Perhaps this was how it was supposed to be.

He sat down in the coffee shop, making sure he got a comfortable seat for the two of them, and sitting so that he could see the door. He still wore his trench coat, but he was wearing regular clothes beneath that. A black shirt that read "Silverhart Incorporated: lining hearts with joy since 1999" acted as some advertising for the company he worked for, and black cargo pants provided all the pockets he wanted for whatever he might end up carrying throughout the day. He had considered wearing a suit with the tie she had gotten him for christmas, but had been trying not to overdress and some of the chocolates still sat on the coffee table in front of his couch.

At this point he simply waited, wondering what he was going to talk about with her for the time being and trying to plan some of it out so he didn't come across as awkward.

Max stood outside for a couple of seconds just double checking that she had come to the right place, she didn't want to make a mistake especially when she wanted to keep up the good impression.
She walked in and noticed the smells instantly, they hit her quite quickly but as soon as they overwhelmed her she became accustomed to it, she quickly scanned the room once again making sure she was in the right place. Yes she was. She was sure of it.
And sure enough she saw Zachary neatly dressed in the corner by the window facing her. Like before Max had spent a great deal of time deliberating on what to wear. This time she thought it was harder because she had to keep up that appearance Zachary had seen before bu that wasn't entirely her. She opted for something with a touch of glamour but casual, so that she was different but still her. She needed a bit of a change. Her hair was down and her soft curls fell gently down her. She wore a lightly patterned floral shirt but when looked closer the flowers had detailed skulls printed in them, leaving her dangerous side intact. She wore thick boots with the laces left untied and skinny jeans with the bow and arrow on her back, she never left home without them.

Once he saw max enter the coffee shop he stood to greet her, walking forward a few steps.
"Well this is quite a different look than the first time." He said with a grin "But it still looks very nice." He finished, avoiding words that might have come on a little too strong. He did think she was pretty though, and the conventional clothing appealed to him every bit as much as a flowing dress would. His eyes then fell to the bow on her back and an idea struck him.

Until that point he had been trying to figure out what he was going to do with the rest of the day after the coffee shop, and now he had finally gotten an idea. He would need to swing by his apartment to grab his own bow, but he thought an archery range could be fun. She looked like she was used to handling herself so he wanted to see just what she was interested in. Decidedly today was going to be a fun day.
"After we leave here I'll need to swing by my apartment, but i have something fun planned.

"The first time was a little less me, but I'm determined to maybe dress up once in a while," she smiled accepting the compliment before adding "you look very smart yourself." Max felt very wary of her surroundings, her first time in a place like this and she wasn't able to blend in very well at all. Zachary made her feel a little secure about herself, she wasn't alone, anything was better than being alone in somewhere unknown.

"Oh? I look forward to it," she said curiously. She could feel a bubble of excitement in her, she liked organisation. She liked to be able to do things. She wanted to get to know Zachary and ask him things which was unusual but she guessed that after meeting him at Christmas there was no harm in looking a little deeper. He was nice enough. She was genuinely interested in him, the presents he had given her were exquisite and surely no one normal could get things so beautiful and to an acquired taste that matched hers as perfectly.

Zachary smiled at the fact that she seemed pleased with his suggestion and wondered if maybe he shouldn't have a place built out closer to some kind of natural area. After all, it suited him to have both the natural and the material. He shook these thoughts from his head and continued his thought.
"Excellent! I thought we could maybe go to an archery range I have set up in the forest. I couldn't find anywhere else to build one for practice... there's a gun range there too. I'll just have to grab my bow from home." He explained. He figured she would be good, but he wasn't too bad himself. That aside, Kyudo was starting to become something of a lost art in Japan and he liked the way it felt and the adaptability to each individual user that a bow had over a gun. He wasn't going to be able to hide the bow very well anyway, otherwise he had planned it as something of a surprise.
"So do you have any training with any other kind of weapons?" He asked, waving a waitress over to get their order.

Max's eyes lit up at the sound of 'archery' and 'range' this was like heaven, she bubbled inside. She was incredibly excited. "Thank you! I've never been to a range before, not unless you class makeshift targets on the move as one." She thought about this carefully, she hadn't really been good with any other weapon, bow and arrows were her Number 1 choice but it was fair to say she was average at using knives. "My dad taught me how to use a slingshot, but that's about it." Knives were too violent for her to mention so she kept that hidden.

She watched him beckoned over the waitress and just stared in awe. He had a lot of confidence to just talk to people so easily. Max had confidence too, but hers was in a different way. One she was not proud of and she wanted a new kind of confidence that she couldbe proud of. And at the very least she wanted to be on her way to that if that's what she got with Zachary.

He smiled at her mention of makeshift targets.
"Funny you should mention that actually. Like I said I built it so it's not really high tech. I used wood and I put different kinds of targets up and I use objects as make shift targets as well. I use Kyudo, a japanese bow art, but it's very difficult to train by oneself." He explained as he slid his hand to the back of his head, scratching it lightly.

The truth was he liked her and was a little anxious. What was more was that he wasn't used to taking people to secret places he had created or found unless it was life or death, but he was doing it anyway for the sake of trying to impress her and was now slightly nervous about it backfiring.
"Relax. No need to over think things." He thought to himself ironically.

"That's interesting. The slingshot isn't exactly common anymore as a weapon and I'm not very familiar with it." He said, not having noticed that she had left something out. Shortly after, the waitress came over to take their order. He ordered a chai tea latte, and turned toward her along with the waitress who waited to take her order as well.

"Ummm..." she waved her hands about by her sides and her voice wavered a bit. She got overly flustered all of a sudden, she had as much choice in the world and she had no clue. "Hot chocolate," she babbled quickly.

"I'm not great at art though so my makeshift was kinda all over the place, it represented what I needed it to and that was as good as I was gonna get. I just fire a bow at whatever takes my fancy and I usually get it spot on, I don't know if it has a name but whatever it is I'm pretty good at it." She interlocked her fingers and snuck them up her sleeve a little in case it looked like she was nervous, because she didn't want to give off a vulnerable persona. She could look after herself.

"Using a slingshot is interesting, it doesn't really kill an animal, more stuns them or gives them some kind of internal bleeding which makes it easier for a particularly fast animal to be taken down by me or another predator," she blurted before clamping her mouth shut and feeling ashamed that she had given too much detail about herself away.

He smiled as she drew her hands into her sleeves. It was something he had read about reading people's subconscious actions to determine what they might be thinking or feeling. When she put her hands in her sleeves he read that as her trying to subconsciously conceal hand movements, when she started talking, then suddenly stopped he read that as her attempt to conceal information about himself. Naturally most of this only made him more curious and he decided to play his hand. He reached out, touching her hands even though they were in her sleeves. He figured if he could feel them he would be able to know what to do and that the action might make her more comfortable with him.... or backfire and make her nervous, but he also liked the idea of touching her, even if it was only her hand.

"It's okay. I like to hunt as well only..." He stopped. If he wanted her to relax he was going to have to open up a little bit first too. "Maybe it's just better if I show you." He finished. He focused on his eyes and on the hand he wasn't holding hers with. He slid his free hand underneath her arms so that it would be hidden somewhat between her arms. His eyes glowed red as his hand shifted, growing bigger and sprouting claws, only for a moment before he quickly retracted both hands which were now normal. His eyes had become their normal brown and he looked her in the eyes.
"I'm kind of... a werewolf." He finished.

She stared in awe, she didn't want to stare but she did and couldn't help that. She felt bad and tried not to attract attention to themselves. She made eye contact with him at just the right time to see his eyes flash red and back to normal, she was amazed and felt so special to be among his presence and have him trust her enough to show himself in his other form. The thing that made her uneasy was that she had hunted relatives of his species and she could never take that back, even if it was a matter of a life or death situation. Death was death, there was no way to bring back the dead. Max was lost for words, she was speechless. She didn't know what to say but tried to make herself not look so startled, but it wasn't quite working. Unfortunately her mind raced and thought that maybe he was only going to take her out to hunt her or just do wolf things.
"When do you... turn?" she mumbled into his ear.
