March 2019 Announcements

News in Brief​

Character Image Rules
Our character image rules are now fully in effect. In response to some feedback, we've replaced 'personal / commissioned art' with 'Art you Own the Rights To'. This is meant to make this section more clear, as well as more explicitly including Gift Art, which was implied but not explicit under the old wording.

As a reminder, we do not treat concept art, original character art, or fanart any differently under this new system. They all must be credited, the original artist must not forbid their use by others, and they can not be art for someone else (adopt, commission, etc).

As a final reminder, rangers will be checking miniprofiles as people enter the ICC. You must have image credits for your avatar in your miniprofile.

Inactive Members
Previously, we've cleared inactive members (no posts in 30 days) at the end of the month. However, this led to some general weirdness where someone who posted once on the 1st of the month and then never logged in again would end up with 59 days of inactivity before they were actually set to inactive. We're tentatively shifting to a system where inactive members are set to inactive after 30 days. We'll see how this pans out, but it shouldn't have any significant effect on active players.

Monthly Events
This month we have two major events taking place. The Student Council Elections are running from the 11th to 21st, and you can find all the relevant details here. Our second event is Year of the Gods related, and you can find details on that (and our monthly holidays) in the master event post here.

We've also implimented an RSVP system, and encourage players to check the Calendar, and RSVP as attending the events they're interested in. This should help us gauge who plans to be involved. In other, secret news, if you click this link, choose redeem, and type in 'elections', you'll get a special surprise... but please keep it secret!

Student Council Elections
We're trying something new with elections this year. With 5 or less participants who can all agree on an outcome, running a full election for a previously decided upon result will take a lot of time and effort for minimal gain. Instead, we're officially declaring the election over, with the results being announced in character on Friday afternoon.

Surprise ICC Event
With no election running this weekend, we're running an extra event in additon to the Year of the Gods event: A St. Patrick's Day pub event in the ICC! Despite the name this will be a secular event put on by the Manta Carlos Irish Association, and will feature a rotating schedule throughout Sunday. You can find all the details here.

Year of the Gods
March of the Twelve has a competitive streak a mile long, and rather than hosting a party like so many of the other gods, they're hosting something else: A Hunt. Having been informed that hunting down animals might be upsetting to some on the island, March has adjusted their plans to allow for something more general: A Scavenger Hunt.
