Calan noticed that Arabella moved away from him when she noticed his fangs. That didn't entirely help his situation, but he didn't show that it made it worse - even his tail kept this secret. Instead, he just covered his fangs with his lips again, subconciously vowing not to show them again if he didn't have to. It was slightly amusing, though, when his temporary nick name for her seemed to make her sick... Girls like her were always fun, but usually limited to a platonic relationship in his expiriance.

Hmm... She reminded him of Bree... He really needed to tell Bree he moved, huh...?

Calan realized that his tail was out, right about then. To some, this probably wasn't such a big deal, and it wasn't really to the teen... When no one was around to see it. But, when he was in the company of others, that tail tended to show all of his emotions... With a seemingly normal movement, he tucked his tail under his shirt and curled it around his waist, those familiar little chains jingling slightly. Yep. No more publicity for this roller coaster, that's for sure.

The vampire nodded at Arabella's next words, showing he agreed.

At Levi's smart yet neutral comment, Calan fixed him with a small look, taking a sip of his coffee before answering. He was thinking... What did he know on hemorrhagic fever? 'Um...' Wait, could demons even get human diseases...? Wait again! 'What's his problem? I'm so not being a smartass right now... Not yet, anyway,' he thought, though it didn't show. After setting his coffee down after a shirt sip, he responded, "Ah... I'm better with physical injury than disease." Calan had heard of the fever before, but it wasn't on the list of Wikipedia pages he had studied thus far. "And I so did not imply that,"[/b] he added as an amused afterthought.

Though he couldn't say he knew what had just crossed Ara's mind, he definitely agreed. He couldn't tell how tall Levi was as they were sitting, but he was definitely petite in frame... And maybe he had seen better - not many, but Brooke topped everyone ever - but the demon was cute... was pretty a better word? Calan liked cute though, or whatever the proper adjective was. That promoted a mental frown though... Why couldn't he be cute...? He was tall, handsome, sexy even - not his words; he was told so - but he wasn't cute! It was saddening, really.

He let out a small snort of amusement as Levi shoved six sheets of paper to Arabella. Sarcasm was good. Bree was always sarcastic... 'I reaaaaaaally need to text her.... She probably thinks I'm dead, heh,' he thought. This wasn't the first day he had thought about texting the store runner, but his phone.... His pocket was so... far... He'd do it later.

He didn't even realize it when I did it, but his mind reverted to his past thoughts. "Cute..." the bisexual teen mumbled accidentally, his cerulean gaze flickering towards the demon subconsciously. His lip jutted out to the side slightly, his bangs dropping into his eyes as he rested his cheek on his hand once more. A hot punk, a sexy vampire and a dare-he-say beautiful little demon. If not a freaky group, they were definitely a pretty one.

Allright.

She had had just about enough of this. The little devil (quite literally) was getting on Arabella’s last nerve. She actually hadn’t noticed how small he was until now- even sitting down, she appeared to have a few inches on the boy. Good. The pipsqueak would be easier for her to look down upon. Even if he was a demon…good Lord, she was having some serious second thoughts about choosing this table…

She wiggled her foot around slightly inside her boot, reminding herself of the small dagger concealed within. While she most certainly didn’t think she’d have to use it-nor did she really want to- it comforted her to know that it was, in fact, an option, should things begin to get ugly.

But for the moment, she shrugged, rolling her eyes slightly at Calan’s snort. At least he’s enjoying this… She also noticed that he’d casually tucked away his tail. Damn. He must have seen her watching it. There goes one source of entertainment, she thought…She had to agree, the vampire did seem like a bit of a know-it-all- he appeared to actually be thinking of the right answer to Levi’s request-…but then again, so must she, at the moment. Ah well. It’s not like Arabella really cared what either of them thought of her, anyway...

She faced Levi, her eyes narrow, a small bitter smirk tugging at her lips. She decided she’d play along in this little game of his, whatever it might be. She couldn’t for the life of her figure out what his problem was- but the longer she stayed, the less she really wanted to know.

“Oh, of course,” she replied, not missing a beat, her tone dripping with sickly sarcastic sweetness. “Anything else I can do for you, sir? Do you want me to clean your dorm as well? Or perhaps, do your laundry, give you a back massage, juggle knives for you and prance about the school wearing the word ‘idiot’ on my forehead?” She delicately shoved the papers back in front of him.

“I don’t know what part of three people, working together you don’t understand- but at this point, I couldn’t care less. You do what you want; I’m just going to finish my breakfast in peace.” With that, she took a dignified bite of her cinnamon roll.

<div align=center>A smug little smile crossed the demon's face. Of course he doesn't know that. He did, however. It was easier to remember treatments when you'd had to perform them on yourself before. He'd had fevers before, of course he had, it came with the flu, the measles, just about every illness he could think of. "So you're not a know it all, then? Goodness, that's a surprise." His eyes flickered upwards, staring blankly at Calan. "Yeah, you did though." He answered, his voice picking up a sickeningly sweet tone that could only ever have been sarcastic, especially coming from Levi.

His attention snapped back to Arabella, now, she was a lot of fun. She evidently disliked him, but that only made him like her more. She had made a snide comment, and Levi had shrugged in reply. "Hey, sure. That's awfully nice of you to offer, y'know." He smiled softly, "while you're at it, would you mind going on a snack run for Ty and I?" Snacks. Maybe he should come home with them either way. Besides, it'd make him happy. Frowning at the train his thoughts were taking again, Levi bristled just a little. Snacks are for me, anyway. Mine. I.. Guess if he wants some he can take but... Jesus Christ Levi shut up.

Cute. The boy's ears perked up, and his expression twisted into a scowl. "Excuse me?" He asked, his voice dropping to a dangerous low tone that suggested he probably hadn't liked that. The audacity. Of course Levi was cute, he was adorable, but this guy couldn't call him that. There was only one person who could call him cute and get away with it, mainly because getting a compliment from Ty was rarer than finding diamonds in the middle of the street.</div>

(Invasion! Knox told me too xD)

Staggering into the door of the Sweetheart’s café, was a creature that would normally go the distance to stay clear from the sun. It was difficult to tell what the creature was exactly as a cloud of smoke rising from its body shrouded any details to be made out. It was humanoid, that much was obvious by the way it stood and gripped at the door as though it would fall over any moment. Stepping inside and out of the direct rays of the sun, the smoke died down a bit around the creature and a skeletal figure dressed in red and black, grungy drab could be made out. The animated skeleton closed the door behind it, head lifting up and turning from side to side as though it were taking in its surroundings. Only it had no eyes of which to see and instead, hollowed out eye sockets stared blankly into the room as it moved forward with the sickening sound of bone clacking together. The further into the room it moved however, the more animated it became, the less of a stagger it had and the easier it seemed for it to move. Once close enough to one of the café’s occupants, it reached a hand out, snatched them from their seat and pulled them in to where they were up again its skeletal chest. If one looked close enough at the skeleton’s face, they could make out sharp fangs where canines should be (two on either side of the top and bottom), and it was these fangs that the skeleton dug into the skin of the person they grabbed. The skeleton wasted no time in delving in, easily snapping the girl’s neck back and burying his face directly into her jugular.

When the skeleton finally pulled away from the girl, it was no longer a skeleton but a young man who had tattoos and piercings galore and appeared to be somewhere between his late teens and possibly early twenties. He held his eyes closed for a moment, head thrown back a bit as he ran his tongue along his bottom lip, savoring the taste before finally opening his newly formed eyes and dropping the now limp girl to the floor. He didn't seem at all to care that he had made a complete mess; blood running down his chin cn neck and splattered on his clothing from practically tearing the woman's neck to shreds. His eyes, a striking deep blue and completely unremorseful, gave another sweep of the room as though he was analyzing its occupants. There weren’t many people here, it was practically empty save for few teens sitting on one side and a pair of women on the other. Well…now there was just a group of teens on one side, a dead woman in the middle of the floor and another cowering in the booth he had plucked her from. He gave a heavy sigh, running a hand through his long black Mohawk before turning his attention on the lone woman in the booth. She immediately made a move to run but he was faster and he caught her by the arm before she could even stand. He pulled her to her feet however, but instead of tearing into her as well, he grabbed her hands and made her look at him. Once he made eye contact, his pupils dilated and when he spoke, he voice was smooth and clear in the woman's mind where it was rough and gravely to anyone else.

“It was terrifyin’!” He yelled at her and she flinched but didn’t go anywhere. “This big, black wolf came in and attacked!” He declared and she again, tried to pull back and that’s when she started freaking out.

“Yes! Yes it was horrible! A wolf!” She cried hysterically but he held her still.

“I didn’t know what to do! There was so much blood!” He continued, raising his voice and ‘freaking out’ along with her.

“Everywhere! It’s everywhere!” The woman cried out and a smirk crossed the young man’s face. “What do I do?!”

“NOTHIN'! I was a coward and ran while it tore my friend to pieces!” He told her, acting out his words as though he were the woman instead of the monster that did the killing.

“I’m so pathetic! I couldn’t do anything! She…she’s dying!” The woman became even more hysterical, tears now streaming down her face. “You have to help her! Someone help!”

“No one can help her!” He yelled in spite of her pleads, still holding her though she continually tried to pull away from him. “Ya let her die!” He bellowed and she screamed. “Yer goin' to go to hell for this!”

“No!” She shook her head and the young man laughed in spite of her.

“Oh yes…this is all yer fault!” He accused. “She’s dead because ah ya!” He continued, attempting to further place that thought into her mind, to get her to turn her own thoughts into guilt and self-hate.

“I did it!” She cried. “I let her die! I’m going to…I’m going to hell!” She screamed and the young man jostled her a bit so she’d stop before he wiped away at her tears with his thumbs.

“Ya can fix this.” He told her in a more calm voice and she stared at him blankly for a long while before voicing, “I can?”

“...I wouldn't lie to ya.” He reassured her. “Ya dun gotta to go to hell if ya leave right now.” He nodded and she seemed to follow his nod, doing so herself as though she was hypnotized to.

“I have to leave…I can’t go to hell.” She calmly repeated before beginning to become hysterical again.

“Shhh…leave now, take a nice bath and a nap.” He suggested and she began to calm down again. “Then tomorrow go to the police and tell 'em what happened.”

“I think…I think I need a nap…” She said in an almost sleepy tone. “I should clear my head, then I’ll go to the police and tell them happened.” She decided and the young man let her go.

“A wolf…it was a wolf…” She trailed off as she staggered out the door, nearly tripping on the blood pooled on the floor. He turned toward the others in the room next, a smirk in place on his face that said he found this all incredibly amusing. He had an alibi now, not that he truly cared if it were found out a vampire was in town and going around eating people…besides, that was just down right fun!

“Humans.” He laughed, sending a mischievous wink in the teen’s direction before taking a seat behind them and where there was the most shade in the room. His clothing was still smoking a bit and when he finally allowed himself to relax, it became obvious that he was still very much recouping from his little walk in the sun and not in the greatest of shapes. Normally he would be asleep right now, hiding away in his Captain’s quarters on his demon ship. He had decided to dock here however, on the island which he planned to arrive at the night before. They were late getting here though, and he had to get off the ship before morning or he would be dragged to the Underworld with it, where it slumbered during the day. Typically this didn’t bother him as he would simply sleep through it, until the ship emerged in the living world during the night. This time was different though; he had goal in mind and that goal didn’t come with spending the day down in the Underworld until the ship decided to wake. So, he took his chances and left the ship and his crew as well, who he ordered to stay with it, and made a hasty retreat through the sun to the nearest shelter he could find with enough people in it to satisfy his hunger but not enough to make a real mess of things. And so, he found himself in one of the most puke worthy places he’s ever seen and he was exhausted and in still in a ton of pain.

Calan raised a brow at that. "You sure are a little smartass, aren't'cha?" he said sarcastically, fixing him with a look. Seriously... He wasn't even being one himself, yet.. Well, he supposed he was now, but the kid was asking for it. "I'm really, really not!" the vampire added, dripping with fake passion. Maybe this kid wasn't so cute.

He noticed the small flash of disappointment cross Arabella's face, and mentally smirked. So she had been watching, huh? It was a good thing he hid it. He laughed lightly as the two conversed, though it was more of a low chuckle than anything. Then, Levi asked about the cute comment.

Calan let his characteristic smirk rise back to his lips, though it wasn't complete, and began to reply, "You heard what I-" but he fell silent as a walking skeleton entered the building. 'Hot damn...' he thought. This was creepy. He liked it. He watched as events unfolded.

Calan didn't wince as the man tore into the girl's throat, watching with interest. This scene, aside from the skeleton, was pretty familiar to him after all... Though he had always observed it in first person. The scene that followed, thought, inspired a very indignant, amused snort and a set of quiet chuckles. He felt like a sick, twisted person for laughing at this, but honestly... When you're used to the general behavior - because he had done acts like this in the past - it wasn't really that shocking.

His smirk widened with amusement as he man sat down, and Calan looked between his two tablemates. He showed a flashy, mischievous grin to the two, his fangs very, very blatant now, and rose from his seat. With his coffee in his hand, he nodded to the two. "Excuse me, ladies~" he bid them, before making his way over to Draven.

Once arriving, he shot his same toothy grin to the vampire, before flipping a chair around beside him. Calan sat with his chest leaning against the back, legs on either side of the chair back, and set his coffee on the table beside him. "Nice show," he complimented smoothly, fixing a violet gaze on the man. "Vampire, right? Same here."

Well. That just happened.

Congratulations, Pugnale, you’ve just won the award for understatement of the year!!!

Arabella got uncharacteristically quiet right about then, the nimble reply she was about to spit out having been lost somewhere in the back of her throat. No more sarcastic comments or bitter retorts from her-no, Levi the demon menace and Calan the vampire smart-ass had utterly vanished from existence, as far as she was concerned, and she had become positively mute. Her eyes were wide in an expression of complete and total shock. Having witnessed many acts of murder in her life, quite a few being at her own hand, this woman’s death would, under normal circumstances, have gone by without a second glance- perhaps a wrinkle of the nose, an averted eye, and a long sip of her espresso, and that’s it.

These were not normal circumstances.

The nature of this creature was unlike anything that Arabella had ever seen before- the way he walked in, the way he transformed, the way he killed. The ease with which he brainwashed that other woman into forgetting everything that had happened- no, not quite forgetting, but changing the story, altering the details, so she wouldn’t know him, and he wouldn’t get caught. Every bone in her body was telling her to get the hell out of there right now- but her brain appeared, for the moment, incapable of responding to those simple requests. Much as her legs were aching to propel her out the door, her arms geared to push her from the table, they remained still, unmoving. She just sat there, staring at the newcomer with wide eyes, forgetting how to react. Forgetting how to breathe. Hell, forgetting how to function as a normal, terrified human being.

If she could open her mouth, she was sure that a small, pathetic meep sound would come out right about then. However, thankfully for her ego, her brain didn’t seem to be able to let that happen, either- and so, frozen and silent she remained. The most she could do was cast her pleading eyes over at Levi, widened and fixed in the silent question, “what the hell do I do?!”

She had heard Calan’s soft laughter at the scene- a grotesque display that added to the horror of what they had all just witnessed. How can you laugh at something like this?! Then the boy slid over next to the newcomer, and she remembered- they were one and the same.

This had been an almost normal morning five minutes ago. Almost being the key word. Now? Now it was something completely different. It had become downright terrifying, as she was made incredibly aware of the one fact that set her drastically apart from the other occupants of her table.

She was the only human there.

Cazzo. Fuck.

Why the hell couldn’t she move?!

<div align=center> Arabella might have been the only human, but she was not the only sane one. As the scene unfolded, at first, all Levi could think about how dumb this stranger was and how senseless that killing had been. The he realized it had been a killing, and that woman had probably had a life and a family and some kids were probably missing their mother now. He scowled. I don't like people. Or rather he didn't like vampires. Dark gaze shifting to Arabella, the poor girl was obviously scared out of her wits and Levi felt sorry for her.Death was not frightening to Levi, he had a medical mind besides, he'd seen things far scarier than death. Concern flashing back to Arabella again, he didn't like the way she was behaving. He wasn't really the nicest person but he couldn't sit by and watch her freak out, his underlying nature wouldn't allow that.

"Jesus fucking Christ. Are you okay? Do you wanna get out of here?" Putting all their differences aside for a second, the demon was likely genuinely concerned about this girl. Of course that dumb vampire had sauntered over like an idiot, Levi was glad to get rid of him at least, he was one of those indivduals who was determined they were beautiful. Unfortunately, he doesn't have looks or personality going for him. Looks like the lights are all on but no one's home. A disorder Levi liked to call: dumbass. This coffee shop was probably never going to get any customers again and someone should probably send a hunter after the beast that had just come in. I know a guy if he didn't hate me. And so he did, someone that would likely have no problem with this thug. Levi didn't have the kind of money to pay him, unfortunately. The smell of blood had made him feel sick, and there was no way he could study
here anymore. "Yo, Arabella, are you alright?" He asked again, his tone a little more serious this time.

Another thing, what was the point in that stranger brainwashing one person into forgetting what had just happened when everyone in the whole shop had seen it. Geez he's definitely not the brightest crayon in the box.</div>

The new comer raised an eyebrow at the teen that had decided, for whatever reason to come take a seat next to him. His eyes immediately narrowed down on him and he stared at him for a long moment and said absolutely nothing.
“That supposed to impress me or somethin’?” He commented dryly, all hint of his previous amusement gone from both his tone of voice and the expression on his face. “Look kid.” He sat up and leaned forward toward the red haired teen. “I dun give a shit what the hell ya are and I aint yer friend or yer alley either’ and unless ya wanna be my next meal, ya’ll get outta my face and stay outta my way…understood?” He finished with a broad and smug smile before standing up and brushing past the red head to make his way toward the other two. The nerve of that guy! Just who the hell does he think he is pulling up a chair next him and talking to him like they’re long time buddies!?

“Besides, ya look pretty fuckin’ pathetic for a vampire…and ya might wanna work on yer approach there too.” He added in once he had passed the red head, having purposely bumped into him as he did, and not very gently either.

“Ya two on the other hand.” He glanced between the girl and the demon looking boy, that sly smile returning to his lips as he gave a light laugh.

“Yer reactions were perfect.” His eyes fixed themselves on the girl next. The way she looked, with her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights, would have usually brought much amusement to the mowhawked young man. There was something about her though, that kept him from outright laughing in her face, asking if she pissed herself and then tearing into her like he had that woman now laying on the floor. Was it her looks? He did find her rather exotically attractive compared to most women he’s run into but that never stopped him in the past. Then, what was it? Maybe he just found her interesting. Whatever, all this thinking was beginning to give him headache. With the speed his enhanced agility gave him, he moved to take a seat right on the table in between the two of them.

“Ya look….absolutely terrified.” He kept his eyes on her and reached over to snatch one of her hands. When he did though, it wasn’t in the same manner he had grabbed either of the woman earlier but it was in a rather gentle way.

“The name’s Draven, Draven Van Persie.” He gave himself a low toned introduction and leaned down to kiss the back of the hand he was holding, though in such a way that she could easily pull it away if she wanted.

“And ya…” He turned toward the smallest boy in the room after giving the girl a flirty wink. His eyes roamed over him, taking in as much of him as he could, almost as greedily as he had drawn the life from that woman. “Mmm.” He hummed under his breath, a wicked smile gracing his lips. “Yer a real pretty on, aint ya?”

Calan was about to follow up with some snarkish retort, when his now-scarlet gaze caught side of his 'companions'... Namely, Arabella. She looked like she had not only seen a ghost, but had been taken by the hand by one and made to perform a public salsa dance in kinky clothing... So he had a creative mind? Either way, Calan sat stock still for a moment, watching as Draven made his way beside the two - he didn't even flinch when he was nudged to the side. What snapped his crimson eyes to blue, though, and broke him from his trance is when the vampire sat beside them, and took Arabella's hand in his.

He remembered Brooke's death, and his eyes snapped to a crimson darker than he'd worn in a long time - and not because he was thirsty. Calan was pissed off at the man before him, who dared commit such slaughter. Hed been wrong... Not once did the 17 year old commit a killing as messy and brutal as this. His deaths had always been quick and painless - most never even knew what hit them, and they went peacefully... Or as peacefully as they could. No one was ever traumatized by his killings, besides maybe Calan himself.

So maybe he didn't particularly like any of the occupants of the cafe, but he wasn't going to watch as someone else was brutally mutilated again... especially not Arabella, who had been the only one he'd taken even an inkling of actual like to.

His power' should on him shattered.

Feeding off his enhanced speed, Calan made his was swiftly over to the table and directly behind Draven, skirting the blood with a wide range... Blood wasn't his friend, not anymore. What would happen if he got in it again? That wasn't something he wanted to think about - God knows the hunger that would awaken after a year of 'fasting'. With a somewhat enraged cry of, "You sick shit!" he yanked the man by his collar, backwards and off the chair, and simultaneously landed a punch to the side of his face.

Said strength-enhanced punch connected with the area that connected his cheekbone and his eye socket. [Following rest of paragraph is Calan's predicted outcome, not definite]The force behind the hit was enough to break bone and draw blood from both his knuckles and Draven's skin... and perhaps the 'immortal' vampire's eye as well. Huh, he'd probably have eye damage. As he decked the older man, Calan would have let go of his collar, letting him smack to the ground unless he caught himself - which was unlikely.

"Don't touch her!"

'I hope his piercings snag on the ground and rip out, I'd laugh.'

Glancing down at the hopefully-fallen man, Calan took a step back, and scanned the two table occupants with wide eyes. Quickly, he blinked, and when he opened his eyes again, they were a light ocean blue. He turned to look at his knuckles, split and bleeding, and tangled his good hand in his hair. "What the hell was wrong with me..." he muttered to himself, though it was loud enough to be heard. He wasn't referencing the punch - no, Calan had been very well in his right mind then. What he meant was, why did he find that incident funny? It was disgusting. Absolutely sick.

He wondered if he'd need to deck Draven again.

Levi’s voice served to snap Arabella out of her fixed state of terror. Her expression reverting back to a neutral façade, she shook her head slightly, giving the demon the slightest hint of a grateful smile. “I’m fine…fine, really.” She shook her head again, though her instinct was to immediately grab the boy's hand and run for the hills, out the door never to set foot within a hundred yards of this café ever again. Instead, she composed a more collected response. “I mean, if you wanna, I’d be more than happy to get out of-”

However, she was interrupted by the creature pushing past Calan and setting himself down right smack on the table in between the two of them. She felt her voice die in her throat once again, but she would not allow her to show any more fear than she already had.

The way the vampire kept his eyes on her- it didn’t sit well, not one bit. While something about her clearly distracted him from the appetizing allure of the blood pumping (faster than usual) underneath her feeble layers of skin- there was still something very predatory in his gaze, a feeling that made her slowly and subconsciously begin to reach down into her boot-

That is, until he took her hand, soft as a caress, like a true gentleman. That word seemed to Arabella to describe everything this man was not. This Van Persie, monster and stranger that he was, had no right nor reason to even touch her, let alone allow his lips to grace her hand in such a manner. He must have thought himself some suave, high-and-mighty class act in order to get away with that move on her, after an act of such barbaric proportions.

She was in the middle of telling Draven to get his filthy stained hands off of her and away from their table (as he began to focus his hungry eyes on Levi), when Calan burst forward with a shout from behind and punched him, hard, on the side of his face.

Such a reaction- from Calan, no less, who had just been, apparently, on the vampire’s side- was utterly unprecedented, and Ara had the urge to yell at him to knock it off. But in all honesty, she didn’t want him to knock it off- she wanted him to keep hitting, and she wanted to join in with full force. She looked over at him as the boy examined his bloody knuckles, muttering to himself. “Hey,” she said, giving him a half-heartedly reprimanding scowl. “I can take care of myself, you know.” However she quickly realized how unapparent she had actually made that fact- God damn it, she had become a proper damsel-in-distress right about then. She lowered her gaze, finding herself shamefully unable to meet Calan's eyes, and nodded in gratitude towards him. “Thank you, though,” she said, just loud enough for him to hear, and just sincere enough to not be humiliating, while still conveying her full level of appreciation.

Quickly snatching her knife from within her boot, she stood from the table, glowering in Draven’s direction. "Don't you dare lay a finger on me again," she said, with significantly more confidence than she actually felt. She had her weapon, though- that, coupled with her power, was enough assurance for her.
