Private Make me a real boy

He blinked, evidentally expecting things to feel...a lot more obvious. His hips shook a little, expecting his tail to curl out from under his jacket while one of his hands went to check his head for his cat ears.

"Wait, so...does that mean its done? That fast?"

He looked over his appearance, blinking. He was so used to having his outward cat traits that it was definitely weirding him out. Still, that was a good sign it had worked.

"Wow...huh, ok, I..." He took a second to think about this. If he was truly human now, he had a lot of things he wanted to try out. The first was...well, it was easiest with Mal right there.

"So, um, can I ask a favour?" He said, fidgiting with his hands briefly. "Can you...tell me to do something unreasonable? Like, the kind of thing no one would normally want to do."

He closed his eyes, waited for the sensation of his hairs standing on their ends, for that creeping discomfort that gripped and gnawed at him whenever he got an order. For a brief moment, he felt like dropping down and doing it just from the sheer anxiety of expecting the compulsion to hit.

But it didn't hit.

He let out a breath, before smiling.

"Um, thank you." He said. He chose not to elaborate on that request, if she wasn't aware of most NEK0 traits he wasn't too keen to explain that particular one to her. "This is...well, I never thought I'd be able to experience this."

Leo blinked, struck with a sudden realisation he'd never actually high fived someone before, despite having seen many people around his classes doing so. He didn't have quite the same excited look she had on her face, but still, with a smile, he tentatively raised his as well, before giving her a high five.

"I. Well...there's things I wanna try out before this wears off. I um...if I need to hang out with you to repay it. Do you...want to come?"

"Nothing too wild, I don't think." He scratches the back of his head, taking a step along the path, waiting to see if she follows. If she does he starts to make his way towards the front of the school. "My species have a um, limited diet. Most normal food makes me sick if I try to eat it. So the first thing on my agenda was to uh...try some normal human food, honestly."

From the way his expression shifts he's clearly not expecting her to go for that. He didn't exactly know what demons ate.

"We're usually physically...frail, as well. I know the change probably didn't give me much muscle mass, but there must be some physical exertion I can do now that I normally can't. So I wanted to test it.

His head shrunk into his shoulders.

"If that sounds boring you don't have to come, but..."
