"Oh, right, uhh.." She drummed her claws nervously on the abacus for a moment before speaking.

"So, I need you to know that technically speaking you're selling me parts of your lifespan. That being said, I've managed to work around some things so that all you need to do is hang out with me!"

"I...huh..."

He considered that. The idea of selling part of his lifespan felt odd. He didn't exactly age and none of his kind had lived long enough to die of old age as far as he was aware, so he had no idea if that could even happen. But this was just...hanging out?

"That's it?" He squinted. "I don't need to do anything you tell me? Just be around you?"

The last thing he wanted was to be a slave again, even temporarily.

She shook her head, but shifted on her feet a bit.
"This- I know it might be a big thing to ask, but do you trust me? Because if you do, I can just come out and tell you that I don't ever want to take someone's free will. Ever. But if you're still nervous I can add a clause that'll guarantee we both have to fully agree on whatever we do, but it will mean that the contract needs to go up an hour."

"I mean...I don't know anything about you, but..."

He considered a moment longer. He felt like he had a decent grasp on what someone looked like when they wanted to manipulate him, granted none of those people were demons. Malicia seemed...legit, though, upfront about everything. Still, just to be sure...

"I...like that clause, yes." He said with a very slight nod. In the grand scheme of things an hour was barely anything. "If that's all it takes, then...I think that's acceptable."

"That's totally reasonable! I just wanted to give the option," She replied, her smile still there. She didn't seem upset at all, which was probably a good sign.
"I don't want to leave anything out is all. If there's a choice to be made by the signer I don't want to be the one to make it."

"Oh, of course, if that's everything," She raised her hands and, one quick flash of fire later, she was suddenly holding a contract in one hand and a quill in the other. She held both of them out to Leo.

"So, uhh, just make sure you read everything over to see if I've missed anything and sign if you're happy with it."

He took them both, holding the contract close as he scanned all the words. Contract law was, obviously, not something he was entirely familiar with. But it...seemed to check out. He took the time to check and double check, however, just to be sure.

"Ok...this works for me. So I guess I'll..."

He hesitated a moment, the quill hovering above the page. He wondered what Ganymede might think if he told him about this plan. His own curiousity soon took over again, however, and he scribbled a simple signature at the bottom of the contract.

Thankfully the contract was written in, for the most part, plain English, making it easy enough to verify that Malicia had been entirely honest. It didn't really feel like anything when he signed the contract, but based on Malicia's reaction it was clear that something had happened.
