At first, Monday had assumed it had just been a fluke that when he was asked to scry for a friend he had located the person in question on the first try. But when it happened again, and he was able to replicate complicated magic spells without any problems... and it was almost a new Moon, he started to become really suspicious that something was going on.

But it wasn't until he began to sense a familiar uneasiness near slow running water, that weird feeling of foreboding he got sometimes when the Never-Ending Sea was near, mixed with the fact that he had started feeling his limbs stiffening up faster than before that he knew, and without a doubt, that something was wrong.

Furthermore, when people started coming into his shop and complaining in hushed whispers about their own magic going awry and that so-and-so's charms were failing, the witch had a sinking feeling that something bad was about to happen.

And so, sending out rushed texts to the witches in his coven to meet somewhere safe and sacred, Monday gathered up Ganymede and took off early the next morning to a place just outside the city. A place where the witches sometimes gathered to do rituals together.

Tuesday had seen some strange flukes with her magic too. Ironically enough she had been testing a new spelled candle idea at her apartment when she got the text. Predictably the unstable magic situation had a bad interaction with the spell. It had taken hours to clean up the mess from the unexpected effects of the candle.

But there she was, traipsing on out to the ritual area with Cami happily bounding along with her. Intentionally bumping against her and jumping on crunchy sticks and leaves from time to time. Meanwhile Tuesday wasnt being stealthy either. She had headphones around her neck but off her ears and blasting some sort of club music. No quiet. Not any quiet at all. Nope.

Wednesday was currently glad she'd put her various magic projects on hold for the moment.

She hated when there was an unknown element in any equation, which meant performing any large scale magic during this period was something she wasn't particularly eager to do. Even so, she'd already been feeling the effects. Her curses had flared, even getting out of bed that morning had been a huge ordeal thanks to her magically induced weakness.

So ignore it, clearly, wasn't an option, not that she would have accepted that anyway. So once the other witches agreed to meet she made her way out, bundled up for warmth, her cat trailing behind her. Once she arrived she found a nice spot to sit and rest her legs, scratching behind Frodo's ears as she waited to begin.

"Tuesday, Wednesday....!" Monday exclaimed as a surge in relief went through the witch when he saw both girls. Things had been troubling lately with Saturday's and Sunday's sudden disappearance. He low-key worried about the other witches too, especially now.

"I'm so glad of you two could make it," he admitted honestly, much more fidgety at the moment, as he ran his hand through his hair and rocked back and forth on his heels, trying to keep his one curses at bay.

Ganymede had been happy about all this, at first. He could fly so fast now! He could notice things about magic that he couldn't before! He didn't even know what he could do with fire now, but he was looking forward to finding out with Candle -

And then he found out how it was affecting the coven. That certainly soured things. He was almost sick with worry. What if their curses took them?

He greeted Tuesday politely enough, and she probably didn't notice over her music, which angered him. He gritted his teeth and did his best not to acknowledge it. When he saw how Wednesday was struggling, though, he rushed to her side. "Wednesday, are you well? Can I do anything for you?"

"After this is over, I'd be more than happy to bring you home." The witches would probably know about that ability of his, by now. He had a habit of making this offer to people who weren't Tuesday.

"Hey Monday and Tuesday," she called out, loudly to be heard over the music. She merely nodded towards Ganymede, knowing that there was no point in making the situation there worse.

As usual Tuesday gave both feline-oriented beings a wide berth and Cami wove between her legs, warily eyeing Ganymede and Frodo. The witch was silently annoyed that she could not offer her sister witch any help without agitating things with Gany.

"Want me to start? I can summarize this pretty well- magic has gone batshit crazy. Apparently including our curses."

She gave everyone assembled a small, tired smile.

"Evening, everyone, um-"

She was about to continue but she was interrupted by the young catboy running to her side. She rubbed the back of her neck. She gave him another appreciative smile.

"Uh, I appreciate it Gany, but it's ok, I'll be fine."

She pulled herself up to her feet and leaned against one of the trees. She would manage, but there was a low level of frustration in her expression as she did. Being the frailer one was always something of an irritation for her, this only exacerbated things.

"So, um, yes. I think Tuesday summed it up pretty well. It's happening all over the island. You guys...you've managed to stay ok during it, right?"

She supposed that went without saying. They wouldn't have been able to meet up here if things had gotten that bad for them. But she couldn't help but check, she was worried after all.

Monday could only nod sadly and in agreement with Tuesday when she confirmed what he had been suspecting all along.

"Wednesday, please let Gany and I drop you off at home. Tuesday and I know your curses, and if they're getting any worse like mine are..." here Monday left the implications hanging as he rubbed his left arm and shook it slightly, feeling it stiffen just a tinge. There was no need to say any more than that. They all knew what would happen if their curses took hold.

"We need to be there to help each other. I'm not sure if our families ever did that, but we can't afford to let what happened to them, happen to us," he added, not entirely sure the old members of the coven were there for each other and that willing to help one another out. His own parents spoke only of the rituals, of their meetings, of the curses, but not too much more than that.

"I want to help," Gany added. "I can fly you around or run errands for you. Any of you actually. even you." Gany was looking at Tuesday when he said that last bit. They all had to pull together, after all, and that meant Tuesday would be there to help out Monday and Wednesday. So, for the sake of people he liked, he supposed it would be bad if Tuesday was struggling too much to do that, or if she died.

"I'd... even play piano for you, if I had to," he added. As long as Tuesday didn't abuse the privilege.

Cami pressed her furry head against Tuesday for comfort as they chatted. Continuing to eye Gany as usual. But Tuesday knew why Gany typically acted the way he did towards her so she just sighed and shook her head. "Really, it's ok Ganymede. I'm not interested in making things any more painful for you than they already are."

"Honestly I know for a fact my family tried to do shit on their own for years and that definitely didn't work," she replied to Monday as she lifted her hand-less wrist to emphasize the point.
