He'd made a friend, he'd only been here a few days, gone to that costume party and met a girl. Sophie, she'd been sweet, if a little shy, now they were having lunch together. Kurt walked toward the school, a bag filled with homemade sandwiches and cookies, he wanted things to be perfect. Unfortunately the bruise on his cheek hadn't started fading yet, people had noticed at the party, but he'd managed to hide what had really happened.

Either way, he intended this lunch to be perfect. As he entered the school grounds, he saw her waiting under a tree. The young demon smiled and waved at his friend, walking to her, his tail swaying slowly behind him. "Hope I'm not late," he said, opening the bag and showing her the lunch he'd made. "I brought cookies I baked earlier today, and sandwiches, I hope it all tastes good," setting the bag down, he laid out a blanket he'd brought for them to sit on.

"Thank you for meeting up with me," he smiled brightly at her as he took a seat. "I enjoyed dancing with you, so I was looking forward to this." @Sissel

Sophie sat under a tree, watching the birds up above. She smiled a bit when she saw Kurt coming. He was currently one of her very few friends, and he was really kind. She accepted his offer to lunch, and now here she was. That bruise on Kurt’s cheek was still there, but she wouldn’t ask about it.. there probably wasn’t anything she could do about it anyway, Sophie thought.

”Um, no, I haven’t been waiting long”, she said a bit quietly. While her stammering had calmed down a bit when she spoke to someone she knew, she still paused frequently.

“It all looks amazing, Kurt.. erm, thank you for having lunch with me.”, Sophie said, a small, gentle smile on her face. Kurt really was nice, and it’d been a long while since Sophie had really met anyone like that.

It was nice, just having lunch with a friend, he supposed it would become a more common thing once he was enrolled in school. "I'll be starting school soon," hesaid with a bright smile, "I..uh..I'm excited for it. It all looks really incredible." His tail swayed slowly behind him, he was still adjusting to it.

"I hear you can learn real magic here and maybe I'll be able to learn more about demons," His father had rarely talked about the island, he'd always wondered why. "And I'll get to see you around," he said with a shy smile, "we'll be able to have lunch together everyday, don't think we'll have any classes together, but that's ok."

He hadn't had many friends back home, "what do you like to do when not in school?" he asked, curious about what kind of things his new friend liked to do.

Sophie looked up at Kurt, still smiling a bit shyly. She was again glad that she had someone to talk to and eat lunch with.
Um, yeah, the school is really i-incredible..”, she said. “Y-you could probably learn lots about demons... and lots of other stuff, too.”, she said. She liked the classes, but not really any of them in particular.

“And, um, yeah, we’ll see each other around school”, she added. Sophie was pretty glad to see that he’d been excited to start school.
“M-my free time? Um... s-sometimes I’ll walk around school or near the forest..”, she said, recalling the nice strolls she occasionally took. They were usually nice and peaceful.

Brushing some hair from her face, she glanced at Kurt. Thinking about it, he was one of her only friends.. ever. She’d been too quiet to meet many before, so this was almost a first of sorts. She’d enjoy the lunch a lot, and enjoyed the thought they could have lunch together at school, too.

"I've never really been to a forest before," he said, his tail tapping slowly on the ground, "we didn't live near any." He took a sip of his soda, "if you don't mind...could I go with you on some of your walks?" Kurt couldn't help but be curious about the island, he wanted to see all of it, including the forests.

"We could explore some of the island together," he continued, his smile calm but bright, "I want to look at the magic and potion shops. This island seems like it'll have everything." He chuckled quietly, she seemed like a nice girl and and a good friend, someone he could explore with.

His hand went up and gently rubbed his bruised cheek, it was still a little sore, "we could watch a movie later if you want, uh...I can maybe make dinner too." His parents were ordering pizza tonight, which meant be wouldn't have to cook, so it was a chance to get away for a bit.

Sophie had never actually taken someone else on a walk with her, or really anywhere for that matter. Having someone to walk with would probably be quite nice. “Oh, um, of course..”, she said. While she’d stuck to the few areas of the islands she knew, she’d always been curious to look at the other parts of it but never had. “Yeah, they do have e-everything..”.

Glancing at the slightly-concerning bruise, she replied with a hint of a blush, “Th-that’s really nice of you.. um, I-I-I’d be happy to, though.” Really she hadn’t had any plans, or had any for a while. Another good thing about meeting Kurt; it presented her with something to do; someone to talk to or do stuff with.

He smiled and rubbed his cheek a little more, "thank you, you've already been a really amazing friend." She'd been kind to him, kinder than his family has ever been to him, "I'll make us something good, cooking and baking...it's a sorta hobby of mine." In truth he learned to cook out of necessity to an extent, but he did enjoy it.

"Maybe I'll bake us a cake," something sweet for a sweet girl, and to celebrate their friendship. "I actually haven't cooked for anyone besides my parents before," his mother never cooked, somewhere along the way he ended up doing her duties, cooking and house keeping.

"C-can I ask you something?" he cleared his throat, thinking about their time at the party. "When we were at that Halloween party, and we danced. Why did you kiss me?" it'd been a small kiss on the cheek, his first kiss.

The memory of the small kiss flashed in her mind as Sophie recalled it. She blushed from embarrassment a bit, as it was slightly impulsive in hindsight.

O-oh… umm”, Sophie struggled a bit to explain somehow. “I d-don’t really know.. I, um, I guess I-it was to.. e-express my gratitude a b-bit..?”, she said, still a little embarrassed and a tad nervous. She was really very grateful towards him for many things, and had always had trouble expressing emotion. So yes, that may have been a reason for the kiss.

I’m sorry……”, she added, which she was.

"No..don't apologize, it was really nice," he smiled, still blushing a little, he'd liked the kiss, "but I should be the one thanking you." She'd been really kind, his first friend on the island, and the first person he'd ever danced with, "so..uh...," leaning forward, he quickly kissed her cheek in return, his turn to show his gratitude.

He scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed, his blush increasing a little, but he was smiling, a happy, slightly goofy, cute smile. "I..uh..really enjoyed dancing with you," he cleared his throat a little, this was all largely new to him.

"I hear there having a masquerade ball a bit later this month," his swayed a bit slower, "would you like to go with me?" He'd never dated, he wasn't even sure if the ball would even count as a date, the possibility hadn't really crossed his mind.

Sophie’s face turned red after Kurt’s peck on her cheek. Her thoughts raced some more as the butterflies in her stomach churned.

U-u-umm, y-yeah, I l-liked the dance, too..”, Sophie managed to get out, still blushing and stammering badly. The returned kiss on the cheek was unexpected, and wasn’t really the reaction she was expecting. It was really enjoyable, though, no matter how much it flustered her.

Umm, I-if you actually want to g-go with me... i’d l-love to, Erm, go to the M-Masquerade with y-you..”, she asked, again a bit surprised. Even if they’d met at a dance and, well, danced, being asked to another hadn’t really been thought of for Sophie.

She forced her mind away from the word that continually crossed it. Doubts clouded her, but there it still was in her mind. ‘Date’.
