Hazel shook her head, looking up at Lorencia. "Well, I guess. I just don't usually do that kind of things anymore. Never really had any motivation to dress up and walk around in a costume. Although I could make a more stereotypical witch outfit if I wanted to." She was pretty certain that if she really wanted, Hazel could probably get away with looking like a little kid. However, it would raise a fair amount of problems then she really needed.

"The other part of Halloween is getting candy from different houses. Which I don't really eat candy anyway. And even if I did, I have plenty of money, I don't need to get it for free from others." She stretched a bit, still making sure too keep up with Lorencia's pace.

So it was the latter, she just didn't partake in the celebrations anymore. Lorencia could understand that. A lot of people get bored of certain events, and this one was no different. There was nothing indicating that this was a thing everyone had to take part in.

"People give out candies?" She didn't seem that surprised. Rather, she looked like she was reminded of something back home. "Does that have anything to do with offerings? Or maybe it gave good luck?"

Hazel shrugged. "I think it might have started out that way years ago. Traditional offerings in the olden times. Now adays, it's just a time for kids to dress up and have fun with friends and family. Exploring the town and just having lots of candy."

Hazel opened the door to the cafe as they arrived, gesturing Lorencia to go in first. It was a cozy looking place with a fair amount of people there sitting and drinking their coffee. Hazel would follow in after Lorencia, stretching a bit. "Anyway, get whatever you want. It'll be on me." Time for a nice iced cappuccino.

Lorencia didn't care much about the offerings, just enough to not want to offend the deity that revolved around the celebration. The candy and fun however, she loved the sound of that.

Hazel opened the door and allowed Lorencia to enter first, which she did, offering a "Thanks," as she entered. The scent of coffee filled her nostrils, something she had become familiar with. While they did have coffee back in Sol, the scents here were different. The novelty must be why she loved it so much.

"Your treat? Well, I'm not saying no to that," she chuckled then turned to look at the menu. There was so many to choose from. She wanted to try them all. While she had the same drinks in other shops that served coffee, she still wanted to try this shops' version. After pondering for a bit, she turned back to Hazel. "Iced coffee with milk! I haven't tried that one yet."

Hazel was glad she didn't protest. It was always a bit annoying to have others try and pay for her. Sure, it was a bit mundane in terms of problems, but she had way too much money as it was. She didn't need others who needed it the money to pay for anything. At least for her.

Paying for the food, the small witch would walk a bit off to the side, sitting in a nearby booth. It was near a window overlooking the parking lot, with two guys sitting on a car a little ways off. "It's been a while since I sat down with someone other then my maid in a cafe or something. It's a bit relaxing, weirdly enough. Given my lack of social skills, that is..."

After they got their orders, Lorencia followed Hazel to a booth with a nice view of the parking lot. She was more interested on the landscape beyond that however. She took slow sips of her drink, letting the flavor wash over all her taste buds.

When Hazel spoke up, Lorencia turned to her. "Lack? You don't seem to lack any social skills to me."

Hazel sipped as well, nodding. "Well, I guess it's more of me not wanting to socialize. Or knowing very little about stuff in modern culture. I will say some stuff a bit awkward sometimes. But I also say it to avoid conversations sometimes."

She set her cup down, then adjusted her glasses a bit. "Not that I am avoiding talking with you, of course. As, you know, I invited you to join me on this date. Not that it actually is a date. Since, you know, we aren't dating." Would she get offended by that? Hopefully not.

Lorencia nodded as Hazel spoke. She could understand that. Despite how extroverted she was, Lorencia didn't start out that way. Before he broke her out of it, Devias was the only person who wasn't one of her parents she talked to. She did chuckle when Hazel said this was a date.

"I wouldn't mind if we called this a date," she thought out loud as she sipped again. "Mmm, this is really good!"

A 'date' was contextual anyway. Neither of them were romantically involved with each other, so this was just two new acquaintances getting to know each other. It was just another way to say it, basically. But speaking of getting to know each other...

"Do you have any favorites? You know, like favorite hobbies or foods?"

Hazel nodded, noting the care free tone in Lorencia's voice. It might be a bit different for Lorencia, but Hazel always thought dates mean that two people were dating. It was a bit different with her and Haru, but Haru usually teased about it, so it didn't count. Hazel was just going to ignore Lorencia's comment on that.

"Well, I sew and bake. Other then that I just usually study. Um...Salads are probably my favorite food. Usually with french or ranch. Coffee is my favorite drink....So, what about you then?" Taking a guess, Lorencia probably liked spicier food. She figured the voidwalker would like the heat of peppers in sandwiches and whatnot.

Lorencia was glad to hear that Hazel knew how to bake since it meant that if she ever wanted to try any baked goods that she can't find on the island, she could turn to her for some help. It would stand that the ingredients would be a little different than on Sol, so it was best to take it to someone who had more experience with it.

"Well I play a few instruments and make some jewelry. Reading too I guess, but I end up getting too comfortable and fall asleep," she chuckled. "Same thing happens whenever I try meditation. Fruits are my favorite kinds of food. Especially spark drakens. For drinks I'd have to say... The soda from this world! We do have it back home, but the flavors here are just so amazing!"
