Hazel listened, taking out a small notebook and writing a few things down. It was a clear that she didn't pay attention during her classes for this. Which was fine, it's not like she knew a lot about how the human body worked. Or wanted to, for that matter.

"No, it's fine. It's not like I can tell you the specifics on how my body works. You don't need to apologize about not paying attention in class years ago." Honestly, she was never really good at science. Potion making not withstanding. Assuming that would count as a science. "Anyway, uh, you said you wanted me to make you a costume. Do you have anything in mind for that?"

That moment earned a sigh of relief. It didn't look like Hazel was distraught at the lack of information Lorencia had given, even though she should have known these things. Technical things like these were more around Devias' alley. With his face stuck in the books, he's the go-to guy for any information regarding their kin.

"For the costume? Hmm..." She tapped the bottom of her chin and lifted her gaze to the ceiling behind Hazel. "I'm not really sure... I guess something guys would normally wear? The point of the celebration is to be something you're not, right? I can pull it off without much trouble."

It was her first thoughts, but she was still thinking of something. Maybe something less general. "Oh!" she snapped a finger. "There's a Masquerade Ball, right? I read somewhere that guys simply wear suits and masks, but there's also that one style that was older... hmm... what was the word... Arrest... Ares... Aristocratic! That's the one!"

She looked back to Hazel with a grin. "Have you been to a masquerade ball before?"

Hazel finished her coffee, setting the cup down gently. She might have to do a bit of research on that, but she could make something. "Okay, I can do that. I'd have to take your measurements first of course." That being said, she was a bit curious on what kind of outfit she wanted.

Though that question was answered with the mention of the masquerade ball. "Yeah, that's coming up soon. Although I am not sure if I'm going. Didn't go last year, but I have been to dances before hand without mask. Not sure if I will go. Anyway, I can make you a suit and mask." Hazel kind of wanted to see her in a suit now. It reminded her of Haru always wearing one and she looked quite good in it. So Lorencia would probably look good as well, right?

Lorencia nearly spat out her drink at the mention of Hazel probably not going to the ball. "Y-you're not going?" Hazel wouldn't have had the time to rebut before Lorencia thought aloud: "I suppose making a costume is a bit time-consuming and wouldn't allow you to make two sets when you're juggling education..."

She looked into the tiny puddle left of her drink and she got a eureka moment when she saw her reflection staring back at her. "I know! Since you're making mine, I should make yours! What do you think? Just point me to a style you like and I'll give it my own personal spin!" Hazel would have seen it in Lorencia's eyes, her eagerness of the idea, as if even though she were to refuse, the void walker would have went ahead and made it regardless.

Hazel kind of stared, not really knowing what too say. Sure, she appreciated that Lorencia wanted to be helpful and what not, but she was jumping to a lot of conclusions here. Though she was enthusiastic about it, so that was a plus side. And it was kind of cute to see her with her eureka moment.

"Okay, hold on a moment. First of all, do you even know how to sew clothes together? Secondly, I can make a dress for myself rather easily. Third, I'm not going cause I don't really want to. Can't dance well at the moment and I don't have a date. Besides, part of it is the mystery of who is who. Most people can pick me out due to me being small with bright white hair."

"Ohhh, so you keep your identity hidden?" She was a bit confused about it, and started thinking what that would mean. She liked the sound of it actually. The masks she saw did seem mysterious. That would make sense, wouldn't it?

"Well... I don't have a date either. I'm good at dancing, and I kinda know how to sew clothes together. My friend Kurt taught me a bit! He's really great, he usually makes the costumes the theater uses. You should see how he puts everything together! It's like he can visualize what he wants out of thin air! Look away and maybe the next time you turn to look, the whole thing is finished!"

"Yeah, keeping my identity hidden. I'm not sure why it is like that. Not very knowledgeable about masquerades." She should look this up later on or something. It'd be interesting to know at the very least as it will probably not help her in the future.

"Well, that would be interesting too see at least. I'm assuming that he is able to use magic to help him make clothing." She leaned back a bit, nodding. It would be a hell of a power to have, that's for sure. But that would take away from the fun of making the clothes. "At any rate, I'm not gonna go. I'd just float around awkwardly watching people who can actually have two working legs. And I would feel weird going without a date anyway. It's not the whole point of the ball, but it kind of is for me."

"Maybe it's to keep things fun! Meeting new people is always fun. Well, mostly anyways, so with everyone being all mysterious in their masks, it'd be just like meeting people for the first time, wouldn't it?" Not to mention how fun it'd be to figure out who a mysterious person was. It's almost like a game.

"Yeah, he does use magic to help him out, but he's just as good with his hands! Not as fast, but he always says he likes making clothes by hand over magic. He says it comes out better, and having worn a couple of the stuff he made, I can feel a subtle difference.

"Well... I'm sure it'll still be fun watching what people dress up as, but I suppose going alone would be a little strange... I mean, I wouldn't have come to Manta Carlos if my cousin didn't come with me."

"Yeah, that makes sense. Plus it gives people an excuse to put on different personas and act different. Not that I would do that. I'm not that big of a fan of acting."

Maybe she should go. Some other friends might be there and it could be a bit of fun. Just casually talking to others about....Stuff. But she would like to talk to Lorencia's cousin at some point. Maybe get a few extra tips here and there about tailoring.

"Yeah, I guess going alone would be a bit boring.... But, uh...." How to word this sentence... "I guess...Since we both don't have dates, would you want to maybe meet up together at the party? Or, maybe a date before hand or something?" Oh goodness, what was she saying asking her out on a date? This was so dumb, Haru was going to find out and judge Lorencia, and her entire face was bright red, she looked like a complete idiot. But she is so sweet and cute!

[/parsehtml] "Acting can be fun though," she said, being someone who enjoys acting more than the average person. But that did get her thinking about what persona she would adopt. Yeah, it'll just be like an impromptu play. It's been a while since she's done something like that. And with her more masculine costume, she would be be able to fool a few people, not that it would count considering that not a lot of people would know her otherwise within the masquerade. Would it count as a failure if people found out who was behind the mask? Probably not unless it was a personal goal. Lorencia was a bit surprised at the proposal, but at the same time she was happy to learn that Hazel was considering it, grinning when she reached that conclusion. "Yes! That sounds great! Oh! Should we go together, or should we try to find each other in the crowd?"
