Laetus nodded. "Thats what I'm hoping for. The view would be best from there."
He looked out the windows, taking in the whole 360 view as the ride moved. The walls had a strip window all around them, making up the whole mid section.

It occurred to Maddie that she should have been sitting from him rather than across from him, but she wasn't actually ignorant enough to believe this was a real date. There was about as much a chance of that as there was a snowy day in Hell.
On the Ferris wheel, it was easier to hear the pop music the fair had playing like most fairs did. It didn't take long for the wheel to begin moving, slowly, ever so slowly.

"I wish this night would never end," Maddie said, before sitting on her knees and turning sideways on her seat so she could have a better view of the scenery.
They stopped at the top, which was lucky.
Maddie was thrilled to see all the lights in the distance, to be so far from the people below. These were the moments songs were written about. The kind that stayed with a person, distant and poetic in nature.

When they stopped, he took another 360 look around before swapping seats to be right next to her. He would put his hand on her shoulder and direct her attention out at the ocean. From here, you could see the lights and buildings of the city reflecting in the water, wavering and desperately attempting to resemble their original form.
"These things usually stay in place for only a bit. Take in the view while we can."

Maddie's breath caught when she felt him sit next to her and take her shoulder. At first, she wasn't sure what he was trying to show her, and all she stared at was his face.
Then she saw it. The water, the lights, and the buildings. She hadn't thought the moment could be more magical than it had already been; she had been wrong.
She leaned over to get a closer look.
Without thinking, Maddie said, "is this what it's like to look through the eyes of an artist?"

Laetus looked confused for a moment, then simply smiled, patting her head.
"Well, you tell me, my little poet." He said with a warm smile. Soon he had pointed something else out. To him, a guy who nearly always flew anyway, it may come as a surprise how much he enjoyed the view.

Maddie was just as enthralled by the sights as Laetus was. Soon, she was pointing anything and everything out to him, too.
She frowned when the Ferris wheel began it's slow decent. Maddie leaned her shoulder his with a melodramatic sigh.
