While this place was infinitely better than others she'd been in, Remi still hated how largely, hugely, mind-bogglingly big this island was, and thus, the school on it.

She could've sworn she'd gone down this hallway before.

Fuming a bit, she looked all around her, trying to find a landmark, something that looked familiar. All she wanted was to go back to her dorm room, and go to sleep. She'd spent a decent amount of time perusing the library (after finding it with much, much searching) and now it was time to... Go back to her room and crochet or something she didn't know. It was the start of term break and she had no friends to hang out with and nothing to do except wander aimlessly for hours on end bored to tears.

She let out a dwindling sigh as she picked a random direction and started walking, books tucked under her arm as she thought angrily to herself about how stupidly this building was designed. How stupid everything was. How stupid she was for not remembering how to get to her own dorm.

It was as she was stewing and huffing to herself that she turned a corner and ran right into someone, the impact of the collision almost knocking her onto her ass, and it would have if she didn't react quickly enough to get her feet back under her again.

"Hey HEY watch where you're going!" She snapped, seeing the books had been knocked from her arms as she stooped to pick them up, only getting a vague glance at the girl she ran into as she promptly ignored her and started to collect her things.

In utter contrast, Alice knew where she was going. Being lost was not the reason she held her head low. In actuality, her shyness was kicking in. While her father's bracelet stopped her powers from hurting others, she still disliked being touched. She curled inward as she scurried down the hall. Her small bag sat on her back. Her eyes darted about but remained forward. Lunch sounded like a nice idea. Not like she was starving, but it was good for her slimy figure.

Then someone turned the corner sharply as she stepped out. BAM! A woman with cool hair but a crappy attitude hit her. Out fell the slime's cell phone. It was in one of her "pockets" instead of her bag. The phone plopped onto the floor. This event alarmed her enough to run away. The most Remi received from her was a quick glare; the senior shrunk further in size and bolted. Soon after, she would be lost to the masses.

...unfortunately her phone did not go with her.

Remi grumbled to herself as she picked up her scattered effects from the polished floors--seriously, who took the time to polish all of this shit?--as she glared at her books like it was their fault for leaping out of her arms. Who did that girl think she was, glaring at her like that? It was her fault they'd run into each other in the first place, obviously, Remi totally couldn't be bothered to look ahead of her while she was walking or anything--

She blinked when she noticed a phone lying on the ground not too far from her hand, and she scooped it up, standing up with her books tucked back in their proper spot under her arm. She looked up to see if she could spot the girl and... Nope. Gone.

Well she already had a cellphone so it wasn't like there was any reason for her to keep this one. She let out a loud and exasperated sigh--and she definitely wasn't about to go chasing that chick down for it either. Whatever. She'd turn it in to lost and found or something.

Shoving it into her small messenger bag she went back on her way to... Try to find her way back to her room.

Eventually she made it, and she dropped her bag onto the chair at her small desk as she flopped onto the mattress; her room was so far just occupied by herself, since a compatible roommate hadn't really... Turned up yet.

Pulling up one of the books from the end of her bed, she turned on the lamp on the nightstand, got comfy against her pillows and decided to read some more.

The phone rang about a few moments into reading time. Alice noticed quickly that she no longer had her cell phone. She tried checking the hallways, but it was not there. The library didn't have it either. This left her in a panic; that was how her parents contacted her for the exchange. Being that they were separated with a joint custody agreement, she had to move back and forth between them at different points of the week. How could she lose it?

She was curled up in one of the administrative offices using the school's phone to call hers. Hopefully the person intended to give it back and not outright steal it. She didn't want to ask either of her parents to buy her a new phone....
