"There is no need for you to apologise." She said simply, closing her eyes again. "Nor is there a need for you to feel such a way on my behalf, I am..."
The words came reflexively, waiting to pour from her mouth. "I am not worthy of such concern," she was about to say. She didn't think Bel should be so angry for her, there was no need to be angry on behalf of a weapon.
But her words gave Euphemia pause. "Learn how to live your life" was what Father Jakov had told her before he left her here. She had spent so much of her time on the island trying to figure out what that meant. From what Bel was saying, believing she had worth sounded as if it would be a step to finding that answer. However, she had no idea how to reconcile that with what she already believed, or why Father Jakov, a member of the very same order that taught her this, would want her to learn something that felt so against this.
"...You are kind." She eventually said, opening her eyes. "To be so concerned for another, especially for one you are unfamiliar with. I apologise for causing you any duress."
Part of her still wanted to refute was Bel was saying, but a more logical part simply believed that it would lead to an argument. She really didn't want to upset her roommate any more then she had already.
Plus, there was still a tiny part of her who wanted to give what she had said more thought.
