Leucos dashed into the Library panting as if he was being chased. Before anyone had the chance to ridicule him for making a disturbance, he ran towards the back of the Library and quickly found a darkened corner. As he sat down, his breathing began to slow, and he closed his eyes. "You're okay. Everything is okay. Just block them out. Don't..listen.." He whispered as he covered his ears with his hands in a vain attempt to shut out the noise of the courtyard he had unknowingly walked into. The collective emotions of everyone in the area had bombarded his mind forcing him to nearly black out, although the Library was nearly empty, which greatly decreased the noise. With his breath finally steady, Leucos leaned his head back to rest it on the wall behind him.

His thin frame was partially hidden by two massive book cases, as he sat and removed his hands from his ears. "What was she thinking..Sending me here." He said to no one in particular. Instead of opening his eyes of wandering around the library without a purpose, Leucos chose to stay in the corner, listening to the emotions of those in the Library. Most were quiet, busy studying or doing other work. Contentedness was the most prominent emotion, although at times annoyance bled through when someone came to a difficult passage in a book. As he allowed the emotions of the area calm him down, he fell into a day dream and began to lose focus of his surroundings.

Shaking himself out of his latest day dream, Leucos finally opened his eyes to gaze out of the darkened corner. Every so often someone would pass by, although none of their emotions interested him. Everything in the Library was quiet, and boring. Just the way he preferred it, no noise, no negativity. Just, silence. "Maybe I should just ask to move in here.." He said quietly to himself before he returned to observing everyone that passed by, happy with the fact that no one had noticed his hiding place.

When Chloe came into the library today, she was afraid, anxious, tense. Outside of the cursed book collection, Starlight Academy's library had quite a few books on demonology and black magic. The knowledge she needed to earn her freedom lay in an obscure niche, nested within an obscure niche of arcane knowledge.

As she rounded a corner, she noticed him. Instead of walking past, she stopped when they were in full view of each other, looking down at him.

"...Hey, kid. Are you ok?"

Leucos was so zoned out, he failed to notice the person who had stopped in front of him. He jumped at the question asked and looked around frantically for a place to hide. However Leucos realized his anxiety was a result of what he was picking up from the girl who currently stood looking down at him. Anxiety, a tense feeling, something was obviously on her mind..the question was..what?

Leucos shook his head in a vain attempt to quiet her emotional readings. "I'm..Fine..I think..?" He said, failing to convince himself of this. Leucos continued to give her a wary look, as he prepared to bolt. "Why..are you back here..?" He asked, as he placed his hands on either side of him in the event he needed to push himself up and run.

"...It's a library," Chloe said. "And I'm a college student. I was looking for some books."

She looked at him for a few moments. Now she was worried about him. She still had the email address for the academy's counseling services, but she didn't remember their walk-in hours, and she felt like this kid could probably use some of that. But how would she approach the idea with him? And... was she even sure something like that was wrong with him?

"Uh, how about you? Why are you... hiding in the corner, like that?"

Now that she mentioned it, she did seem to carry herself like a college student, although he should have guessed she was here for books, he chose to hide in a Library of all places. Leucos stopped mentally beating himself up over asking such an obvious question and slowly stood.

"W-well, I decided this was a nice looking corner to...Erm..Ah..Hide out in..?" It was more of a question than a statement, however Leucos' strong point wasn't social interaction. "Damn it, could you may this any more awkward." He thought to himself. He began to feel cornered, she was in front of the only exit, and there was a wall to his back. His breathing picked up slightly as he tried to find an escape. "I..beklager..Jeg vet ikke hva jeg skal si.."

Leucos quickly covered his mouth realizing he'd reverted to speaking in Norwegian, something that he hadn't done since his last black out on Monday. "I'm sorry.." He whispered, too embarrassed to look her in the eye.

OC:"I..beklager..Jeg vet ikke hva jeg skal si.." Translated to: I don't know what to say

He was a wreck.

"No, it's ok." Seeing how tense he was, Chloe couldn't help asking herself if he was scared of her because she looked like a demon. Her pointed tail flicked with nervous energy. Now might not be a great time for her usual new kid speech about how not all demons were incarnations of true evil.

"Are you sure you're okay? I can walk you to the infirmary if you want. Or, um... well... counseling services might have walk in hours about now. And it's nothing to be ashamed of if you need help, coping with stuff. I do too, sometimes. It's free here." She managed a smile. It actually calmed her down, having something less intense to worry about and focus on.

Her worry and confusion rang loudly to Leucos, although he had no idea why anyone would worry over someone like him. His mother sure hadn't. Leucos hugged his midsection as he stared at the floor and tried to force out the words he wished to say.

His sentence ended up coming out in halted English, with his accent he'd tried so hard to hide bleeding through. "I-I'm..Fine..Just need to get my ba-" He stopped, Leucos frantically searched around for the bag he had brought with him from Norway. "Where..how.." He muttered frantically. In defeat, Leucos sunk back against the wall, further into the darkened corner. He closed his eyes in an attempt to calm down. After a while of reading the calmer emotions in the Library, he managed to distract himself and calm his heart rate.

He gazed helplessly at the girl across from him, so desperately wanting to ask for help, yet too anxious to actually get anything that sounded relatively like English out.

Chloe felt like she was way out of her depth. But she couldn't just leave him here, could she? He seemed so miserable like this.

Chloe sat down on her knees in front of him. "What's wrong? If... If I'm scaring you because I'm a demon, I can go away. I don't want to, uh hurt you or scare you." She had to ask. Despite everything, she almost hoped that he was just scared of her and all she needed to do was leave, and then he would be better. That would be so much easier. Even if it hurt to see someone so scared of her kind.

Leucos shut his eyes and began to mess with the zipper of his hoodie. He felt bad that she thought it was her he was afraid of. "Come on, say something damn it! You're fluent enough that you don't need to make a fool of yourself!" He ranted in his mind. Opening his eyes, he tried to create a coherent sentence.

"I..I'm not..Afraid of you.." He said and then paused, trying to look for the right words. "It's...Something else..but, it should fix itself soon..I hope.." He said, and again stared at the floor. "I..Can't shut them out..No matter how hard I try..I always hear them.." He tapped his head lightly. "They..They hurt if there are too many people around.."

He sighed and shyly looked at the girl who had taken time out of her day to worry about his mess of an emotional state. Hell he hadn't even asked for her name before he began freaking out. "F-forget I said anything..My..name's Leucos..What's yours?" He asked before he returned his eyes to the floor.

"I'm Chloe." She extended her hand for a handshake. "It's... nice to meet you, Leucos." Though he certainly didn't to be having a very good time himself.

"Who, um, or what are... they? Are you having trouble with a power?" Chloe really hoped so. She wouldn't know how to deal with someone who was mentally disturbed. Unless a demonic possession was causing it, she supposed, but even then she would probably need to call in help from an exorcist.
