Travis nodded, it was almost an obvious first step to mastering his element. Having complete control over flames was more important than generating them. He could do that much with ease, but he lacked the control once he generated the fire. "I guess everything should just fall into place if I can get controlling external flames down, I'll be able to do almost anything," he grinned at the thought of what he'd be able to do down the road.

"If I had realized there was an entire room devoted to practice I would've just gone and blown myself up there," he groaned. He opted out of taking a tour of the school, instead finding it to be more fun to explore the campus on his own. As he was finding out, there were still a few places that he needed to check out.

Darius raised an amused eyebrow at what Travis had said about blowing himself up in Darius's classroom had he know it was there.

''I would rather hope you didn't, considering that the whole point of it is to stop such things from happening'', the dragon said, smiling slightly, before growing serious again. ''Besides that, a student must either be accompanied by me, another Powers teacher or have a special permission to train on their own. Once again, just so we could prevent cases of 'blowing oneself up there', as you had said.''

Looking up at the sky, Darius decided he might as well show Tavis where the classroom was now, the morning having grown to late to continue his walk, and make a schedule for him there, if you indeed wanted his help.

He told as much tot he boy. ''If you wish, I will show you to the classroom now. I have other students to teach today, but I do have time before that to test what you can do on your own so far before planning anything else.''

"Please," Travis responded nodding to Darius. He figured that if he worked at controlling his powers long enough he would be able to practice there at some point unattended. But for now he'd stick close to his new instructor. He didn't know enough to fly out of the proverbial nest. His transformation abilities were essentially under his control but there were probably tricks he still had yet to learn in regards to those as well.

"So you specialize in elemental control, I take it there's someone else in that department that focuses on shifting then?" he asked after a few moments. The young chimera was beginning to realize that there was more to the school's courses than he had thought. "I guess I'll have to sign myself up for a couple extra classes before the year starts up."

''Yes'', Darius said, nodding his head, in answer to the boy's question. ''There is indeed quite a lot of people on the school staff who specialise in teaching students how to control their powers. I am sure that there is someone who could help you with any problems you may have with shifting.'' Darius himself would be of no help there, despite being able to shift himself. He would also give a name to Travis, of a teacher he thought would be able to help him, however, he didn't know many of his co-workers by name, considering how he preferred spending his time either alone or with students.

''If you would follow me then'', the dragon-shifter said after that, turning back towards the school and urging the boy to indeed do as he said and follow him. ''There is a two hours or so before first of summer students wake up, let's see how much you can do in that time.''

I know this thread is short, but if they are going to move, I think we should make another thread too, just make it the continuation on this one or something :)
