The piano had fallen slightly out of tune again, a problem that Aurora couldn't rectify for the life of her. She knew the reasoning behind it, but that didn't mean she could fix it, and almost every other day, the mage was relegated to grabbing the tuning bar and wrenching at least a few strings back into place.
Except today, she couldn't find the wrench...at least not before venturing into the depths of the auditorium basement where all things that were lost went to die. Well, as far as instruments and other broken items went. Nobody had actually died there as far as the Chronomancer knew.
Unfortunately, the lady dressed in blue, contrary to the belief of those that knew her, was not exactly all knowing, and as she walked down the stairs, the aura and faint smell of death manifested in a spot that frankly had no history of ever having a death occur near it.
No history...but an immediate future. Not hers, but something else's. Maybe a lot of something elses.
"Five, four...three..."
A massive tear in spacetime erupted in the ceiling of the basement, and out fell a rather massive suit of armor as Aurora glanced up into the black void. So much for that. Even worse was that the suit of armor looked rather human...although for a human, this whatever was something of a monstrosity. Well over 8 feet in length, and what looked like weighed a metric ton. With just as much pomp and circumstance it had given while opening, the rift slammed shut, leaving the room in silence.
"Well...that was fun."
Aurora walked slowly up to the immobile suit and looked down into what might have been its helmet.
"Hello? I certainly hope you're not dead. Dragging you out of here would make my day much worse than if you could walk."
