The piano had fallen slightly out of tune again, a problem that Aurora couldn't rectify for the life of her. She knew the reasoning behind it, but that didn't mean she could fix it, and almost every other day, the mage was relegated to grabbing the tuning bar and wrenching at least a few strings back into place.

Except today, she couldn't find the wrench...at least not before venturing into the depths of the auditorium basement where all things that were lost went to die. Well, as far as instruments and other broken items went. Nobody had actually died there as far as the Chronomancer knew.

Unfortunately, the lady dressed in blue, contrary to the belief of those that knew her, was not exactly all knowing, and as she walked down the stairs, the aura and faint smell of death manifested in a spot that frankly had no history of ever having a death occur near it.

No history...but an immediate future. Not hers, but something else's. Maybe a lot of something elses.

"Five, four...three..."

A massive tear in spacetime erupted in the ceiling of the basement, and out fell a rather massive suit of armor as Aurora glanced up into the black void. So much for that. Even worse was that the suit of armor looked rather human...although for a human, this whatever was something of a monstrosity. Well over 8 feet in length, and what looked like weighed a metric ton. With just as much pomp and circumstance it had given while opening, the rift slammed shut, leaving the room in silence.

"Well...that was fun."

Aurora walked slowly up to the immobile suit and looked down into what might have been its helmet.

"Hello? I certainly hope you're not dead. Dragging you out of here would make my day much worse than if you could walk."

Aurum had flown through what he thought was the Warp, but it wasn't. He felt the Aegis, he felt things he had never heard, seen things. Heard things. He saw the creation of the knights. It was too much, by the time he blinked he was hitting solid ground. His body weary almost to weary to even move the armor.

He heard a voice.

"Well that was fun

Out in his mind he spoke out.

"Where Am I?"

His whole armor looked like a wreck, would take weeks to fix if he even could. The originally lifeless eyes of the helm flicked with life, the feint sound of whirring started. then the sound of electricity cracking filled the room.

"Hello? I certainly hope you're not dead. Dragging you out of here would make my day much worse than if you could walk."

Aurum took his time getting up, each move he made was causing some strain on the Tactical dreadnaught armor systems. Remembering how he got here he looked around the room, and sensed.. No taint. No gods. As if the Dark Gods never came to this place. He was now standing, a lumbering hulk holding what looked like to be a Glaive with a broken blade. He looked down at the lady wearing blue. He looked like even in his armor to be a good 3 feet over her. Even with the massive damaged in the armor. Cuts, some blood on it as well as the power generator was slightly damaged, but had enough to get him going.

"I am not dead just yet. You are... Not of the Adepta Sorotias. Nor of the Inquision." He said looking around the room once again. take steps away from her then with two hands holding the broken Glaive with in his gaunlets preparing for what may come next. "Tell me. Where am I? What planet. This is not Orioas. It.. Cannot be."

It took a little bit of time for the entity to get back on his feet, but as he did, the sheer size of him took her a little by surprise. Aurora was shorter than everyone...it was something she had gotten used to in her age, but this was something a bit different.

Frankly, it was the most unlikely event to have happened in the past...week.

Strangely, Aurora was rather used to people falling in from across time and space. Maybe not normal for everyone else, but it happened more often than not.

Not counting Pavonine as a dragon, this guy was easily the biggest guy she had seen fall out of a hole from some other dimension.

"I can't answer that, since I don't know what either of those things are. Perhaps I am where you come from. You're on Earth, circa 2014 or so. You on the other hand look...well, you're from somewhere pretty far ahead aren't you?"

Although she didn't think this guy was about to tear her spine in half, the blood-stained armor wasn't doing much to calm her nerves. Or the glaive. Aurora was certain she could defend herself, but not without leveling the Steinway that was above them.

"My name is Aurora. I know you're probably hesitant to do this right now, but I'm going to have to ask you to lay down your weapons. All of them."

She spoke to him as if she was his superior, though she knew not of the Holy Inquisition or the Emperor's Daughters. The Sisters of Battle. He turned so his shoulder was pointed towards her and turned his helm to her. The tear that he created didn't send him through space.

The Warp had casted him through time as well. It seems the last ditch effort was enough to cause a rift in time, thinking back to the moment. He should have expected another Demon. Another figure head, but he didn't nor did he expect this to happen.

"Humanity is what I strive to protect from the abominations of the Warp." He said to her, then stopped as he heard 'Earth circa 2014.

"Holy Terra? I am.. In the past upon the Emperor's Holiest of planets? Thirty Eight Thousand years!?"

He was stunned, gripping his Glaive strongly as he was asked to drop it he placed it in one hand then turned it upside and stabbed what was left of the blade into the ground, taking off his helm first a crack then a hiss sound came to pass. He placed his hands on the helmet showing a human face, but with one eye replaced by a biotic lens, almost like a camera shutter, but smaller and moved like an eye almost. As well as a portion of skin covering metal.

"I will do so in time Aurora." Till then he was going to be wary of this situation. "I am Justicar Aurum. Though. I fear with no squad. Rank means nothing."

"Whatever you were protecting humanity from probably does not exist, or at least won't for thousands of years."

38,000 years was an exceptionally extreme time jump, and considering the state this man was in, the time period in which he came from was not exactly a friendly one. Strangely however, he had the demeanor of someone who wasn't normally accustomed to battle...like an aristocrat perhaps. The armor and heavy artillery he was handling though spoke an entirely different tune.

Aurora shuffled about, still looking for the wrench, and answering questions as best she could.

"Terra is one way you could put it, although the planet is anything but holy...at least right now, forgive me."

And it might never be. Time was extremely malleable, and the nature of temporal flow meant that many alternate histories and futures were possible, often simultaneously. For every action that anyone took, there was some other action that might be taken elsewhere, and from infinite choice came infinite diversity of time.

The entity was most certainly human after taking off his helmet, although he had extensive biological and cybernetic modifications made to his body. No doubt Aternity and Emeraude would have loved to see him at some point, but until then, it was probably best to get him more attuned to his situation.

"I understand your reluctance Justicar, and normally I would not begrudge you to hand them over or leave them. You're in the basement of a school right now however; and the policy is rather strict. I imagine you might uh...intimidate quite a few of the students. I can have the devices transferred out of the building after they, and you, have been checked on."

38,000 years of medical and technological evolution. The dangers and opportunities alike were many, although Aurora herself was just concentrated and getting the guy away from his arms, and into a reasonable state before setting him loose.

"You'll find your rank, as mine, to be lacking somewhat in strength here. It doesn't mean it won't be useful however. Where do you happen to come from anyways? It sounds like your Earth has quite a few changes to come."

"The Warp has always existed. Demons will always exist in the Materium."

He was slowly coming to terms that his time was in the future. His friends, family and himself didn't exist, but he ended up trying to get his own bearings on this world as he was going. He wanted to learn how to get back or how to live with in this place.

"You know naught of what you speak of. Terra is the birthplace of humanity. It's Throne. It's.. Home. It is the holiest of all planets with in the Imperium."

Though maybe she was right, but war was all he knew, it was his blood, his mind even his bones. He sighed and looked towards Aurora, his bionic eye looking at the shorter figure infront of him. He then started to drop his weapons.

"Your words ring the Truth. Though this school is naught what I have heard of. I prefer to be a shadow. Only known to those who MUST have this information. Or. I will ensure this information of our meeting dies with me."

Aurum wasn't wrong. He spent his whole life protecting those who didn't even know he was alive. That he was a thing at all. So he wanted to keep it that way. If anyone knew what he was. Or who he was that he didn't seem as someone big. he would have to do what he could to kill all who saw him. Though this was a new start for him. He could.. Change it.

"I come from what you would call the 41st Millennia. To a Galaxy much like this one that knows only war. That is why I was made. To do constant battle against an enemy that can destroy Humanity in an instant."

"You've jumped into a timeline where the initial conditions of your universe may no longer apply. Your warp may no longer apply...or we simply call it by a different name. I'm not sure yet."

Unlike people who saw time as a tree, Aurora saw time and space as an entire forest running from ground to canopy. For each universe or tree, there were a number of branches that stemmed out from the trunk, or a set of initial conditions. Other trees represented universes with different initial conditions altogether. Many of those planted...died. And yet others thrived, much like Aurum's.

Aurora beckoned back up into the auditorium and started walking, hoping Aurum would trail behind her. If the floor could lift a Steinway, it could hold the armored one as well.

"Terra, or Earth as we call it is also our birthplace as well...well, not mine, but humanities. The way you speak however leads me to believe that your humanity has achieved much through conquest on a number of planets. A questionable objective, but impressive. Space flight hasn't exactly taken off here; not to the general public anyways. We are but one planet...sort of."

It was hard to explain. The existence of supernaturals, the existence of other dimensions...other times, other spaces. Maybe the Doctor was right. Maybe existence was just a timey-wimey ball of stuff. Aurora her head back to keep speaking while walking up the stairs into concert hall.

"Well, you're in a new place 38,000 years back. Nobody knows about this school unless you're...different from the general populace. Since you popped out of a temporal rift, you certainly count, Justicar. And don't worry about telling people about this. I've had a fair number of people just appear from different times; it's a common event here."

At first Aurora had investigated each and every instance of a temporal incursion onto this plane, but considering how common it was, and that it hand't created problems, she had stopped the extensive intrusions into people's lives.

Unfortunately, it might be necessary in this case considering the Justicar's history.

"Thankfully, the world hasn't gone to war with any other. The planet is however, constantly at war with one another; but the petty squabbles between nations mean nothing. I can tell you more later."

Not much later though. The pair now stood next to the stage, and a massive empty room with a reverberating presence.

"You're standing in the heart of Starlight Academy on Manta Carlos Island in the middle of our Pacific Ocean. Well away from any major nation-state or superpower. The island is home to a large supernatural presence, mostly because the world at large doesn't take too kindly to us. This school teaches our young to control their various supernatural abilities...although you certainly don't look like you need anything like that."

"The warp exists. I feel it. I can feel it's grasp. It is not... Complete. There is no trigger for it. I can call upon my powers, yet.. That is not what else I can do. I do not know it's intent. Or the Emperor's will for me here."

He wasn't sure what to even do. If he fought, than someone who seemed innocent would die which would cause him to perform a Rite, he knew them all off by heart. He could recite the 666 words in any situation he deemed fit, but all rituals were sacred and had to be acknowledged by his superior or someone of equal standing. A Brother so to speak.

He saw Aurora walk up a flight of stairs. He moved behind her taking his time. The Armor he wore was nothing but a problem with the amount of Damage he had sustained, yet the systems had enough power to do Medicea in order to keep him living for a while, till he can get out and seek proper treatment.

He listened to her words, the weapons discarded as he tossed the Storm Bolter onto the ground behind him in the room. His mind was plagued with problems that could happen if he had lost those now Relics of his past. Or the Future.

"You are not human? Then what are you? A witch? Or are you.. Not of this world? Though. Humanity has seen proud things, momentous triumphs. We... Or they current fight a battle against the Lords of Chaos, as well as many Xenos as well as our own fallen brothers who took up arms against the God Emperor of Mankind to serve as slaves to the False gods. Those who wish Humanity, and all others who follow His will destruction."

He followed her up to the Concert Hall as he walked in he looked around as he as taking in the area. The sites, the sounds and everything else. The place looked far better, though it was missing a lot, a Reliquary, A Rite room and just about everything else to his liking.

"Throne of Terra..

He was new to this area, yet he enjoyed it. He liked the area he was in and kept looking around as he tied his helm to the side of his belt.

He wasn't too sure on what she meant by Time being ripped open, in the future, the closest thing to time being changed was while on a Battle Barge going through the warp. He had lost many Battle Brothers of different chapters that way from what he heard.

"A place of Different People? Psykers... I mean.. People with some form of powers that draw from something other than the Warp?"

Then he heard the world was at war with each other? Like Chaos and those Loyal? This wasn't that. This was.. More Mundane than that. What was it over? He wasn't too sure and he didn't think a Servitor would grant him the information since they do not exist at all in this time and space. So he let out a heavy sigh. He was now more lost than ever. He patted the Libris Daemonica that was held in the centre of his armor, that housed information as well as much of the Rites that Grey Knights had.

"This world is.. Everything for the future, yet they fight like children do over a toy?

To simplify it was what he was going for. He wasn't sure on what the fighting was about or if it was his place. He wasn't someone who should meddle into the affairs of anyone who should be here.

"I wish to hear that sometime, almost more of this.. Planet. I have always wished to see Terra before the Golden Age."

He heard her talked once again. This place was used to train students who had abnormal powers? Like when they found powerful Psykers or Warriors while they were young? He rubbed his chin, feeling the cold Ceremite upon his chin.

"I think.. I understand this.. Starlight Academy. Sideribus Inlustris Academiae." He caught himself speaking in High Gothic. It was normal for him to slip into it with his brothers and some of the inquisition that spoke it. "I spent decades learning my powers as you call it. I am a very potent.. Magician in terms you may understand. We are called Psykers. We utilize the power of the Void. The Warp as we call it to draw upon our psykic might. Some of us are taken at young ages to train to grasp it. Learn it. Breath it. Live with it."

"We, or at least I have something like that called the Umbra. It's not where I personally draw my magic, but some people do. It's also a crossing to my own home planet, so maybe there are some similarities. By the way, my son is a mechanic of sorts, and he's quite brilliant. 38,000 years or not, if there's anyone who can help fix that suit of yours, its him. Don't worry about your arms, I'll have them delivered to you wherever you decide to go from here."

In all likelihood, both the warp and umbra were simply interchangeable terms, although she couldn't be sure until Aurora could actually look into his timeline. It was not an event that she was looking forward to however, his story considered. And then came the explanation of herself, always a nebulous story to tell.

"I'm human, but something of an enlightened one, a lot like you. Someone who has found heightened potential. I was born inside the Umbra on a planet called Horizon. It's not particularly populous, maybe 60,000 people. There are probably more here on Earth than there. You'll find no all-powerful God Emperor here however; there's plenty of religious figures, but I'm afraid they tend to cause great disagreement between the people here."

That was an understatement. Entire crusades, wars and conflicts had started. But where Aurum came from, that whole shebang could probably be multiplied several orders of magnitude.

"You probably understand this already, but this island is also home to many different enlightened species from not only this world, but those many light-years away. And yes, plenty of people here draw from places other than the warp, myself included. Not everyone is a 'psyker' either."

The term he used was probably reasonably broad. Where Aurora used 'supernatural', it's possible that 'psyker' could be once again, simply another word for it.

"But yes, you're right. People fight over the smallest of things here. Horizon is far more civil, but when you compare 60,000 to a population just over 7 billion, problems start to crop up. If you wish to see the planet for yourself, you are more than welcome to do so."

Aurora had certainly had the time to do so, and she still did often get away to do other things other than teach. Travelling was a great form of stress relief, something that this guy probably sorely needed. If stress was even a thing. The mage sat on the stage for a moment.

"It sounds like there are some commonalities between worlds. I'm a professor here, but I still don't ever stop learning. My magic is supposed to stay extremely subtle, but sometimes it does strange things...like drop random people in front of me while I'm trying to work. It's an after effect of entropy. Chaotic events turning manifest close to me. Everyone else just calls it by what it is: luck."

Frankly, it was far more convoluted than that, and her powers were not a subject she spoke about for well...reasons.

"I will need to observe and prepare the proper Rites for it's repair. This armor, even more sacred than others that exist in this time must not fall into the wrong hands. It's technology is far superior than what I have seen. I will find a way to contact you once I have secured a proper holding area for my gear."

He pulled his hand away from his chin he walked around for a few moments, examining different things as he was going. The sound of Metal clunking and landing on the ground echoed in the hall. He pulled out a small dataslate that began to examine the area. Noticing small things in this room. It was kept by someone who wore boots, almost like standard Guard boots with a steel toed tip. Something about it all was off. As if this character wasn't human at all.

"Umbra. Interesting." He pondered it for a moment, his eyes turning a ting of Blue as his Aegis acted up. He wish to know the power of this. Was it Demon in nature or was it something different? "My homeworld house a mere One Thousand of us at any given time. No matter how many of us there were, only a few of us we grew up separate. Yet we were all brothers. Rank did not mater. Neither did age."

He looked over at Aurora. The Emperor may not exist in this time, or ever this place. Yet war raged on in Religion. Even in disputes. He wasn't even sure how to make of it. Even in his Chapter Librarium he did not see anything on the past. Just events of the chapters.

She spoke of Enlightened ones across the Galaxy. It sounded much like the Tales of the Emperor and his Children across the galaxy. He shook it off and stood up.

"I have seen planets vanish, one fire, bathed in blood of both Innocent and heretics a like. It would be a nice change to see a world free from taint. Though. I go no where off this Island with out a weapon. I will Treat this Island as my new monastery.

Aurum turned to Aurora with his full body, looking at her with his eyes. Taking a few steps forward and gazing down at her. this lumbering hulk larger than most humans even with out his armor looking down upon her.

"Entropy is a portion of Chaos. It is what the Eye or Terror thrives upon. you know not of the power-the Destruction you posses. You have the same powers as a man I once fought with. Shame he isn't alive."
