"Gimme a sec. My treat, for showing me a good time tonight."

Adelaida walked over to the drinks and asked for a whiskey and a vodka, heading back as soon as she got them paid for. "Plain vodka for the madam, and a whiskey for me."

The whiskey went down smooth and easy, and Adelaida savored the flavor for as long as it was there. She had a feeling tonight wasn't going to last much longer, though even if it did, she had enough mileage out of the evening.

"Let's take it slow. How are you holding up?"

Aura nodded wordlessly at the offer and then took a sip when her drink was brought over. Wrinkling her nose a little at the strong scent of their drinks.

"I'm ok, really. I'm tougher than I um look. I'm just not great at the whole let loose and party thing. I'm um, pretty passive. I dont like to make a big scene." She took another, longer, sip.

"Sorry if I'm um, not the most engaging company"

"Hmmm. Don't worry about it, this one's on me. I did push us both here, if I remember right. Why apologize for it? Besides, I'm engaging enough for both of us, if you're worried about that."

Adelaida took down another whiskey, drawn from who knows where in the chaos of the scene. The night was pleasant enough, and as long as she was doing something, there was no problem for her in the slightest.

"Do just tell me if you're finding the night a little too much for your tastes, m'kay? And try to enjoy it as much as you can, because I'm having a lot of fun that's hard to explain."

Aura smiled and downed a hefty gulp of her drink. "I'll let you know. But maybe I just um, need a little pushing sometimes. You're really nice and this um, isnt too bad."

Resolving herself to try to let go and just have fun she set her cup down and nodded at the dancers. "I think I still um, have some dancing in me for the night if you want. I dont have many friends who invite me out to clubs like this." Although that might have been mostly because she wasnt exactly a heavy partier.

Down went the third whiskey, leaving Adelaida with a pleasant, warm buzz. She'd developed quite the tolerance for drink in her hedonistic quest to quiet the voices, and she at times lamented her growing inability to actually become drunk.

"Alright, let's hit the floor!"

Aura said it was okay, so Adelaida cut another path through the crowd, leading her back to the dance floor, but not as near the speakers. She led, and this time she didn't waltz like she wanted, instead dancing as expected of a club.

Sensing that the night might be near the end for her companion, Adelaida also began to prepare for her own late-night conclusion, eyeing people she might be able to snap up.

Aura herself wasnt especially affected by the drink. It would have taken a lot more to leave her inebriated. But it hardly mattered. Forcing herself to close her eyes and just focus on the music helped calm her nerves all the same.

She twisted and moved with the fairly quick tempo of the music and a smile again crossed her face. Blissfully unaware that her new friend was starting to search for someone to spend the next hours of her night with.

Until finally Aura sighed and leaned in so she could be heard. "Thanks for convincing me to um, join you tonight. I think I'm um, getting a headache though so I should probably go soon." Then she noticed Adelaida looking intently at a few other people. "Um, I guess... I'll see you around?"

Adelaida picked up a bit of paper and hastily scribbled a little note. She hadn't been subtle about looking for someone to spend the night with after Aura had left, which was likely a mistake. She didn't intend to push her away; rather, she wanted to make sure she had something, someone to do afterwards.

"I'll see you home and just come back here... sorry about that."

She handed over the note, which contained her name and how to contact her, in case Aura needed or wanted someone for whatever reason. "Next time we're out, if you want to go out again, I'll be a hundred percent dialed in. Just hit me up if ever you want someone to talk to, or unwind... or anything else."

"O-oh, I um don't want to make you go out of your way. But you can if you, um, want," she replied meekly as she pocketed the note. "Really, i'm just going to go um, lie down."

Aura shrugged and began to head out through the crowd towards the exit, a pair of grey tendrils slipping out from her shoulders to reach forward and part the crowd to give her room to move through it. Which seemed to only spur her on faster out of embarrassment and anxiety.

Adelaida parted through the crowd with hands hot enough to cause mild yelping, but no permanent harm. She caught up to Aura near the entrance, letting colorful fire trace over the paths of the tentacles, making them look like they were part of a light show in the club so no one would notice.

At the entrance, she gave Aura a tight hug without regard for boundaries, and whispered in her ear. "I had a great time tonight. We should have a night out again at some point. Feel free to bring company."

She let go, waved goodbye, and headed back inside to enjoy the rest of the night.
