With the whole Dark Crystal Academy debacle, Henghai was immensely stressed. His family was stressed, his co-workers were stressed, the students surrounding him were stressed. Things only worsened as magic began messing up, leading to the magic of everyone in his family being inconsistent. When your kids were made out of magic with magical inconsistency being part of their development, having more magical inconsistency was one of the last things you wanted.

Today was another day of him sitting at the table in the nurse's room, waiting for a student to come in with a problem. One that would likely involve them having an accident regarding magic. Henghai thought he might transfer to being a teacher to help out, but with everything happening now, he was very much needed as part of the medical staff.

For the last few days, Carmin had run into a rather unusual and annoying problem. Flowers seemed to be popping up all over his body.

Sure, flowers already popped up all over his body, that had kinda been an ongoing issue for the past 6 years, but this was different. Usually there was just a dozen or so, but now it was approaching the forties. They kept blooming and would grow back if he attempted to pluck them.

After enduring it for a fewdays and waiting for it to miraculously go back to normal, Carmin decided to go see the school nurse for help. He didn’t know much about how that worked, but he’d passed by it in the hall a few times and knew where it was.

When he got there, he slowly opened the door and poked his head in. “Um, hello?”

Henghai turned his head towards the small plant boy in the doorway. He was like a walking garden. Aside from the giant flower on his head, there were dozens upon dozens of flowers glowing on his body. It was hard to tell if that was his natural appearance or why he was coming in.

"Hello. Come in," he said pleasantly. "What can I help you with?"

Carmin stared a little when he realized the nurse also had leaves for hair. He was on the fence as to whether this place was actually going to be able to help him or not, but his hopes went up at the sight of that.

He made his way inside, kinda nervously and presented himself in front of the nurse. "I, uh... Lately I've been having trouble with these flowers." He plucked one off and held it out. "Usually there's only supposed to be a dozen or so of them, but they've been popping up more often than usual these past few days and if these keeps up I'm gonna be covered in them." It wasn't the end of the world, but he was definitely a little upset about it.

Henghai noticed the boy looking at his hair, yet he couldn't decide why. His best guess was that he was wondering if they were the same. He listened patiently to the child speak, nodding his head along as information was provided to him.

Suspecting this was another one of those magical issues, Henghai went straight to the question he wanted to ask the most: "Tell me, are the flowers that grow on you magic-based? Lately, there has been more mana in the air, causing people's magic to become a little stronger."

When Henghai finished asking his question, a new flower popped up almost on queue in the location that Carmin had plucked one just moments earlier. He glanced at it, slightly annoyed then looked back at Henghai.

"I don't understand how magic works all that well, but none of these flowers grow like normal, so maaybe?" His whole body didn't really make sense, he didn't have a brain anymore yet he could still think. He also had functioning eyes despite probably lacking a lot of necessary biology for them. He hadn't put much thought into it, but it must've just been some weird magic thing.

Henghai eyed Carmin up and down, all the while chuckling at the boy's confusion. "Don't worry about it. I have a good feeling that it's the mana that's affecting everyone, but if it's not, take a seat on one of the beds." He gestured to several beds lining the room. "I'd like to learn more about your biology. I know a lot about magic, biology, and plants. Heh, I am one, after all."

Carmin paused for a moment going into what seemed like a trance while he just stared in Henghai's direction. It felt like, he knew about them. It was a similar feeling to one he'd experienced with Junchi. Just like Junchi they were a water and earth oricenta. But how did he know that?

He snapped out of it to acknowledge Henghai's question. "O-oh, yeah of course." He then walked over to a bed and climbed up, taking a seat as instructed. He had a couple questions floating around in his head, but decided to hold off for the time being.

Henghai gave a worried expression when the boy seemingly blanked out. He was just about to speak up when the boy returned to his senses and began moving towards a bed.

"Before we start, would you like a cup of water? You looked... not unwell, but unfocused. If you need to lay down, you're allowed to."

"No no, I'm fine. I can sit up." Now that he mentioned it though, a cup of water was probably a good idea, it had been a few hours since he'd last had a drink and he was probably due to have another one right about now.

"A cup of water would actually be nice." He didn't feel as nervous as he usually did. Maybe he just felt like he could trust the school nurse.
