With Tiffany on his arm, Isaac led her gently from the mixer and off to the park. The sun had set already, but the moon and stars were bright enough, as were the street lamps that illuminated their path. He was quiet for a while, considering what he should even begin to say...Tiffany'd broken up with her boyfriend, the main thing that had stood in his way of asking her out. He didn't want to jump on her just after her last relationship had ended, though...so he'd bide his time for now, remaining close to her if she allowed him to.
"You seem to be taking things rather well," he observed after a moment. Usually girls who had just been through a breakup were quite the mess. "I'm sorry that it...didn't work out." Okay, that was a lie. He was glad that things didn't work out. But he didn't want Tiffany to know that he felt that way.
