Just A Quiet Walk In The Woods

Wind walked through the woods feeling refreshed after a long day of classes and doing homework. It was about 5:00 in the evening and except for eating dinner, she had nothing else to do. The only thing that was different was that she was in her wolf form, which was her favorite form for taking walks in. She spotted some squirrels and chased them up a tree for the fun of it, growling as she watched them scamper from branch to branch. She was so intrigued in it, someone would've had to yell to get her attention. It was a good thing she had excellent hearing.

Hal cautiously walked through the woods alone. He couldn't remember why he had agreed to go walking through the woods with Wind after their classes when it would soon be nightfall. That meant it was going to go dark soon enough and he won't be able to see things. But the worse news for Hal was that he would never be able to see what ever would be coming at him. Part of would be happy because he wouldn't see the animals in the forest at all but then not seeing danger was something else.

He would have guessed Wind had been dismissed from her classes already. She should probably be here, he thought, because he had dropped by his dorm room to get a flashlight before heading to the woods. He had considered staying home but if Wind actually looks for him, his guilt would chew him up the next time he sees her.

After finally convincing himself to speak, he called out. "Ann..?" he called, unsure. He could have sworn he saw small shadows jump over head. Those were either bats, squirrels, or some other animal. "Are you here already...? Ann?"

Hal prays that Wind wouldn't sneak up on him. It was worse because he had completely forgotten that Wind could shapeshift into animals.

(OOC: I left you a note back in the other thread about this one in case you couldn't find it. I guess you did, so you can ignore that note.)

IC:
Wind's ears pricked up at the sound of Hal's familiar voice calling her middle name. She cautiously left the squirrels and walked slowly back down the path to within seeing distance of him. She lifted her head and let out a howl, then looked straight at him, a wolfy smirk on her face and waited patiently to see what he would do.

(OOC: He forgot, this is going to be great!)

[[ yeah~ i actually saw the thread right away, i just felt the need to give hal and exit sorta
also, hal is deathly scared of animals ohohohohohoh xD ]]

Hal quietly trod though the dirt path of the forest, looking cautiously around him for any dangers. By dangers, that would mean any of the forest animals that could bite him, scratch him or otherwise approach him within a 5-meter radius.

As he heard the howl of a wolf (not knowing it was Wind), he froze in his spot. Slowly, he turned his head to find the wolf that had called, looking straight at him, with intention. Hal took a step back as he realized the wolf was not taking its eyes off him. He pretended to avert his gaze and look around him, though keeping aware of the wolf present.

"Um... Ann? Are you anywhere here?" he called again, though his voice was weaker than earlier. He was completely unaware that the wolf he was scared of was the girl he had been looking for.

Wind whined loudly, staying where she was. She remembered that he was deathly scared of animals. She sat and then raised her paw up and down in a waving motion. She hoped that he would realize it was her.

Hal saw the wolf wave its paw at him at the corner of his eye. For a moment he glanced at the wolf, trying to figure out why on earth would it do that. He wrinkled his eyes skeptically. It was only after a couple of seconds when he remembered his conversation with Wind earlier that day during lunch. She was also a shapeshifter.

"Ann? Is that you...?", he asked cautiously. Hal hoped that she wasn't able to tell that he had been really scared just a couple of seconds ago.

Wind nodded her head and slowly walked towards him, sitting down again closer to him, then changing back into a human and standing up. She apologized,
"Sorry, I forgot you were scared of animals, I usually take my walk in one of my animal forms. I'm glad you came."

Hal would have made a step back when the wolf stepped closer if he had not chanted to himself that the wolf was in fact Wind. He mentally put a palm over his face for forgetting that Wind could change into a wolf.

"I wasn't scared." Hal immediately retorted when Wind spoke. He was, but he would never admit that. That was simply one of the many things he'd rather that people not find out. For Hal, it was beyond embarrassing.

"For the record, we're in a forest and if a wild animal jumps right at me, I might as well be their dinner." he replies, turning his face away from the girl.

Wind replied,
"Luckily, you're dealing with one of the few types of animals that have human intelligence. I would only hurt someone if they tried to hurt my friends or me. And it's ok to be scared of animals. Some people are. If you don't want me to change form anymore, I'll understand. I started off as a horse today, until I got too close to the stables. I almost got caught because they thought I was one of the horses that had escaped. So, how were the rest of your classes?"

'It's okay to be scared of animals' she told him. Hal felt both assured and embarrassed as he was being consoled by a girl two years younger than him, though it was more of the latter.

"I wasn't scared, alright?" he insisted, a light tint of pink brushed across his cheeks. He was pretty sure that no matter what he says, Wind was sure about him being scared after all.

"It was a defense.. sorta.. thing. You don't have to stop yourself from shapeshifting into anything just because of that, okay?"
