This was proooobably not a good place to be in.

Evie had been loitering on some of the rooftops downtown with a six pack of beer. She technically wasn't supposed to be up there, but she'd managed to avoid getting caught so far that night, and what was the point of having powers that let you leap tall buildings in a single bound if you weren't going to take advantage?

So, naturally, she was quite surprised when a weird sensation heralded the arrival of a house appearing out of nowhere to join her on the roof. She almost dropped her bottle into the street below in surprise.

She strolled right up, peering into the windows. It didn't seem like anyone was inside at first, and as she leaned on the glass a little she realised it was unlocked. She cracked it open and poked her head inside, looking around what seemed like a pretty standard living room.

"Hellooooooooooooooooo?" She called out, loudly. "Someone out here playing magic house jenga or something?"

She leaned in further, and in a moment of drunken uncoordination, she tumbled through, landing in a small Evie shaped heap on the ground. She groaned and rubbed her head, not even realising the window was already closed behind her.

"I've heard about something like this before," Eric said to Jazz in a low voice. "If someone comes out and offers food to us, don't eat it."

Then, they began to hear noises. Footsteps. Voices. Eric could actually make out what the voices were saying. One was a weird, feminine voice. She was calling for her 'sweet,' saying that they 'had better not scare her.'

Another sounded like a girl around their age, in a similar situation. She was curious, she called in, and then she... fell? What was that about? Was she okay?

"Sounds like we're not the only ones to stick our noses in here," he continued. "How are we playing this?" He was getting worried, but more for Jazz's sake than his own.

Other than the noise of the people who had fallen in and were wandering around their own spaces, the building was eerily silent. Jasmine pulled herself closer to Eric, low key freaking out now as she wasn't sure what to make of those voices. She kept her own voice low that it wouldn't carry through the place, "Maybe we should try and find another exit?"

A thump from upstairs, like something hitting the floor above startled Jasmine and she swung her flashlight towards the stairs.

As the arrivals explored their surroundings, they found much the same problem that Jasmine and Eric had. Doors to the outside vanished. Windows showed nothing but inky blackness and would not budge open themselves.

Evie found herself in a living room with walls that seemed to be just a little off. One wall was just too tall to be comfortable to look at. Another was far too short for a room. But maybe she was just too drunk and not looking at it properly.

For Harmonia, the laundry room gave little indication of the type of person who might live here. But a small noise from beyond the shut door leading further into the house sounded like the thump of something from upstairs, like a plank of wood hitting the floor.

For Red, the hallway that she stepped out into was far too long for a house. It stretched into the darkness in both directions, seemingly unsure of where it should begin and where it should end. A trap door in the ceiling, accompanied by a folding ladder, appeared some distance away from the hallway ceiling.

For Destra, the air in the attic was musty and stale. Dust hung in the air as he searched around to find a ladder down into the lower floors. There wasn't one, not at first. But when he turned around to a spot he knew he had looked at before, there it was. The ladder, fixed to a trap door, opened easily and bumped into the floor of a hallway below.

Oh great., it'd only been a few seconds and things were already starting to get weird. Evie pulled herself up to her feet and stared out to the inky blackness where the rooftops used to be. That alone was enough for her to start worrying, not to mention just how just a tiny bit wrong the room felt.

And she'd even spilled the last of her booze when she fell in! Things really felt like they were getting worse by the minute.

"Stupid magic jenga house." She grumbled, clutching the empty glass bottle tight as if it were a weapon. She was getting antsy, and staying in this room didn't help things. So she started to move, picking the nearest door and walking through.

"Helloooooooooooooooo!" She called out again, her voice a mix of frustration and thinly veiled concern. "I know I kinda fell in uninvited but it wasn't on purpose! The whole eternal dark void thing you got going on outside is a little much!"

As she was checking out the very generous linen closet, Harmonia heard, and felt, the thud which sounded strangely like somebody had dropped something heavy onto the floor upstairs.

Closing the door to the closet, Harmonia frowned and decided to head further into the house to investigate. She'd have sworn the house was empty. It had that musty empty house smell to it. Like someone hadn't eaten a meal there in months.

Entering the rest of the house through the laundry room, Harmonia stopped dead in her tracks disconcerted by what she saw before her. She was in a long hallway with a window at the far end and what seemed to be a set of stairs. Somehow she had passed from the first floor to the second floor.

Whirling around in confusion, she noticed then that the door she had just exited from was no longer behind her.

"What in Hades and Persephone's name is going on here?" she demanded as she narrowed her eyes suspiciously and glanced around her.

Red could hear a few voices. Great, her kidnapper was a womanizer. The girl sighed before taking notice of the impossibly long hallway. Was the house that wide? Or was this one of those mirror tricks? If it was, she wished she brought along a rock to chuck at the darkness and see if it shattered or not. Turning to the opposite end of the hall, it looked the same, save for one little detail. A hatch that looked like it would lead to an attic. It even had one of those ladders that folded up by itself. "This looks suspiciously like a trap," she said out loud in a 'I know what's up' tone of voice. She walked towards the ladder and with her hands cupped around her mouth, she shouted a greeting. "Hello! Anyone up there wanting to come down or do you want me to climb up there? Either way, this hall's long enough for a cartoonish chase scene!"

Destra's agitation was rising. As he searched for a way out of the attic, there apparently wasn't one. And he could hear the sounds of people. He turned and growled a little at the sight before him. The exit was sitting there in front of him. It wasn't there before.

Seeing as there was only one way to go, Destra went for it. The ladder unfolded leading down into the hallway. An endless hallway according to the woman he heard below him.

"There's nothing up here worth looking at. I don't hesitate, so don't try anything funny," he replied to Red as he hopped down from the exit. He looked Red over. She sort of looked like she belonged here, like she might be behind whatever this place was. Still, she seemed just as lost as him. He'd let time show her true colors. "So this hall doesn't end huh?"
