I've Been Torn

"Well, you preformed them wonderfully anyways!"

Allen grinned. That was good to hear. He hadn't been playing guitar for long, but he was glad that he at least didn't make her ears bleed. "Thank you," he said. It was amazing how a person could go from plain out being rude to actually having manners in just one day...

An eyebrow raised an his brown eyes turned up to look at the rose corn that was atop his head. He laughed at it and genuinely smiled, pulling it down slightly so it was tighter and wouldn't fall off if he simply turned his head.

"That's why you dance to the music of your own heart, silly. Let it move you..."

Eyes showed confusion as she took his hand and said that. He bit his lip, contemplating it. There really was no harm in it... but he wasn't sure if there was really any music in his own heart. That was why he played other peoples songs and not his own. "But... what if I step on your foot?" he questioned. He didn't want to make a fool out of himself and end up having to be taught how to dance, too. Learning how to hug had been enough.

"You're not getting away that easily..."

It seemed that she wasn't going to give up. "Oh, fine," Allen said, standing up hesitantly. Hopefully he wouldn't end up looking like an idiot. He kept his hand on hers, waiting for her to start dancing before he did. He would probably end up just following her lead.

"But... what if I step on your foot?"

Enelya laughed, and shrugged. "What if the sky caught on fire and your nose fell off?!" She winked, and pulled on him some more.

He finally gave in, and a big smile creased her face. She loved his crown, and his silly grin, and how cute he was being, embarrassed and all.

She stepped back a few paces so they wouldn't run over anything. She put her other hand on his shoulder, and held his other hand softly.

She began to hum a little tune, soft, and pretty. She danced slowly, and took a few paces to the right, one back, and another around, just simly going where the music ringing in her head led her.

She hoped it wouldn't be too much for Allen. Sometimes her music tended to float her away, and she lost track of everything around her. Though this time she looked into Allen's big brown eyes, and smiled, encouraging him not to be afraid.

"What if the sky caught on fire and your nose fell off?!"

Allen blinked. That had been a rather odd statement. It was tempting to tell her that such a thing wasn't possible, but he wouldn't. It felt better to joke around... it felt more human. And that was something the immortal hadn't felt in hundreds of years. "Well, I would cry," he said. "Because I like my nose. My nose helps me breathe, and I like breathing. It keeps me alive. So I would cry." It was a childish answer, but who cared? He sniffed, as if holding back tears.

He shook his head at his response. It was so unlike him... but it was still him at the same time. It was strange, but being kind was actually a lot better than being cruel to people.

The man looked at the hand that rested on his shoulder out of the corner of his eye, and gently took her waist with his own free hand. This was awkward... but at the same time, it wasn't. It was a strange, confusing thought that he would have to ponder about later, since right now he was too busy dancing with her to care about anything else.

As she stepped around, Allen stepped in time with her, easily able to keep up. He stepped out of place every now and then, but that was to be expected from someone who hadn't danced in the last six-hundred years or so. His life had been all about fighting, not dancing and things like that.

Purple eyes met his own and he smiled softly. He kept his gaze of her eyes for a few moments before turning his head away, not wanting to have seemed rude or something along those lines.

Enelya laughed at his statement and agreed. "Yes, I think I would cry too. It would be rather sad for you to lose your nose." She laughed a bit more, and danced a bit more too. Their movements were somewhat fluid like. Not what it'd been like before, but she didn't mind.

Allen placed his hand on her waist, and she seemed to mentally stop for a moment. Her stomach jumped into her throat, and her heart beat a little faster. What was this? Attraction to Allen? She bit her lip, and as he looked into her eyes and smiled, Enelya pulled away from Allen a bit shaky. Her cheeks were a deep shade of red, and she covered her mouth slightly.

She looked around, and went back to him and gave him a quick hug, so his feelings weren't hurt. "I have to go check on Donar!" She said, and ran out of the music building.

Stupid Enelya... You can't like him. What are you thinking? It'll just end up like Kotah. You know that. Stop being so foolish! She cursed herself. She walked along the path to the forest, and shook her head lightly. It'll only end in disappointment, stop this before it does...

"Yes, I think I would cry too. It would be rather sad for you to lose your nose."

Allen grinned. "Well, then we can cry together and eat ice cream and cookies," he said. He hadn't had either of those things in a long time... hm. Oh well, they were good anti-depressants. Losing ones nose was surely a good reason to be depressed.

An eyebrow rose when she pulled away from him and when he saw her shaking slightly. She had been the one who wanted to dance... so what was wrong? One didn't ask to dance and then just back out of it. He was confused, since she seemed a little bit upset.

"I have to go check on Donar!"

He blinked as he was hugged, and didn't even have a chance to hug her in return. It seemed like a good reason to want to go, but she had just returned from there. "Alright," he said.

Allen watched as she ran off, and let out a sigh. He sat down on the desk again, biting his lip. Today and yesterday had been so confusing... he looked down, not even wanting to play guitar to sort his thoughts. He really had to think about what was going on right now.
