“Abigail.”

The Headmistress smiled. Allen rolled his eyes, though, at both of them. That Headmistress lady would never be as old as he was — she was young and naive in his thoughts. Enelya had to be nice and say that, too.

However, when he saw the smirk, he returned it. He supposed his immortality and age would be their little secret, since not too many people around here knew about it. Allen wanted to keep it that way, too. No one would be bothering him for history essays and the like that way.

“It was… By a wolf’s den. I’m not exactly sure where in the woods. Do you Allen?”

The immortal thought. He didn't know exactly, though when Enelya mentioned that it was on the way back to the academy, he spoke up. "It was at least a bit off of one of the paths, I think," he said.

“I made a healing mixture, and put a splint on the young one. He should be good as new in a few weeks.”

Abigail smiled. "That's good, I'm glad the little pup will be alright," she said. "You two can go. I'll go looking for more traps later."

Allen nodded, then got an idea as he walked toward the office door. Enelya had shown him something important in her life... so maybe he should do the same for her. "Hey, Enelya? Would you mind if I showed you something?" he smiled brightly, even though he knew she may not care as much about it as he did. "It's really important to me and I want to share it with you."

Enelya could feel Allen’s annoyance behind her, and she mentally pretended that she patted him, and told him it would be okay, and to be patient. Though she really couldn’t do such a thing. For one, because she was in the presence of the Head Mistress, and because it would more than likely embarrass Allen. He was no child with a bad temper after all.

Though he did have a temper.

As Allen responded to where the den was, Enelya nodded, agreeing with him. She didn’t know exactly where it was, but that was about as good as they were going to get with the location. Besides, Enelya didn’t exactly want a bunch of people around the wolves’ den anyways. She watched the Head Mistress for a moment before her eyes started wandering around the room.

Until Abigail started to speak again. Enelya smiled, and walked over to Allen to leave. “Thank you Abigail, it was nice meeting you. Have a wonderful day!” She walked outside, and thought about what Abigail was going to do. Was she really going to go out into the woods and look for bear traps? That seemed a bit scary to Enelya.

"Hey, Enelya? Would you mind if I showed you something?"

Enelya raised an eyebrow, and looked up at Allen. She could see a joy in his eyes that she’d never seen before within them. She smiled brightly, and listened to the rest of what he had to say. She was excited to see what he wanted to show her.

"It's really important to me and I want to share it with you."

Enelya nodded, and patted his arm lightly. “I’d love to see it. Whatever it is. Especially if it makes you happy. I’m interested to see what keeps this old Tin Man ticking.” She winked at him, and waited for him to show her the way. This time he was the entertainer. She smiled within herself at that thought.

His hopes sunk slightly when he saw her raise an eyebrow. Allen usually did that when he thought something was ridiculous, uninteresting, or if he was being sarcastic or genuinely perplexed. Hopefully she was doing it for some other reason, because this really meant a lot to him. Music was the only thing that had kept him alive for the last few years. If it wasn't for music, then he and Enelya wouldn't be having this conversation right now.

As soon as she smiled, he was about ready to jump up and dance. Smiles were good. Smiles were very good! Especially Enelya's — her smiles were always so beautiful, genuine and honest... she wouldn't lie to him!

“I’d love to see it. Whatever it is. Especially if it makes you happy. I’m interested to see what keeps this old Tin Man ticking.”

As soon as those words came out of her mouth, Allen literally jumped up and spun in a circle. "YAAAAY!!!" he exclaimed, a brightness to his jaded eyes and face that was so rare for him it only happened once every year, maybe even more time than that.

"Come on come on come on!!" he said, acting like an impatient little child now. He grabbed Enelya's hand and ran off toward the music wing, a skip to his step the whole way.

The second they arrived there, Allen ran to the last room in the hallway. He ran inside and went to the closet, finally letting go of her hand, and smiling brightly. This was where he kept one of his guitars. The other three were in his dorm room.

He strapped on the guitar, and looked just like a little kid at Christmas time. He strummed the strings, still smiling widely. "It's a guitar!" he stated, even though Enelya probably knew that. "And I can play it, too! Isn't it beautiful? Isn't it?! Music is just GREAT!"

Allen Haldis was actually happy... ecstatic, even. What a shocker!

Enelya watched his eyes drop until she smiled, and he was instantly a completely different person. Someone who’s happiness would send Enelya’s running for its money! Allen bursted into glee, grabbed her hand, and took off! She bursted into laughter, and continued to do so as he skipped off.

Who was this man and what had he done with Allen the Tin Man? She couldn’t say she minded though. It was a nice alternative, definitely.

Enelya’s laughter brought tears to her eyes, as she couldn’t stop. He was so happy, it was beautiful, and she wondered what it was that made him so ecstatic. Until they reached the music hall, did Enelya understand. Kotah had loved music as well, he had even preformed for her once, where she had danced around. It was sheer fun.

He let go of her hand, and Enelya smiled brightly as well, giddy with the anticipation of what Allen would bring out of the closet. She jumped lightly on her toes with her arms crossed, eyebrows raised, ready to see whatever it was inside of that closet.

"It's a guitar!"

Enelya’s smile only got bigger as Allen pulled out the guitar, and she nodded her head excitedly as he continued to show it to her, and said how beautiful it was, and that he could play. She laughed, and reached out to touch it, even though she was unsure if Allen would let her touch something he cared so much for, so she held back, until he said it was okay. “It’s gorgeous Allen, is it yours?” She was delighted to see Allen so happy, that she clapped, and intertwined her fingers together in a pleading motion. “Would you play something for me Allen? Please?”

Allen's smile brightened even more — if that was even possible — when Enelya smile got larger. Her excitement made him even more giddy. The immortal was glad to see that she liked it, that she hadn't just brushed it away and seemed to actually care about what made him happy. He had obviously been wrong before when he thought she wouldn't like it.

As she reached out to touch it, he hesitated somewhat. This instrument meant so much to him... but he knew he could trust it with her. If she was gentle enough to heal a wolf pup, then she would be fine touching his guitar. He trusted her. "Go ahead, you can touch it," he said, holding it out slightly for her.

“It’s gorgeous Allen, is it yours?”

"Yeah!" he said. "I have a few others in my room, but they're not as pretty as this one." It was clear that this guitar was his favorite out of all the ones he had. It would have probably made sense for this one to be in his room, then, but that wasn't the case. Allen spent most of his time right here in the music room when he wasn't picking on little children.

“Would you play something for me Allen? Please?”

She wanted him to play for her?! He grinned and nodded, hopping up onto one of the desks and resting his feet on the chair. He readjusted the guitar and cleared his throat. "I'd love to!" he said. "But, warning you ahead of time, I don't really know any happy, cheerful songs..."

Happy and cheerful wasn't who he was. Allen was cold and heartbroken.

He started strumming a few of the strings, then started playing the song. At first he was merely playing, but as the song kept going on, Allen kind of got lost in by. After about a minute or so in, he slowly starting humming until he actually began... singing.

"... Clinging to his poise and nothing more to lead him through this mine field... she says don't expect much — I might not like what you get. She says don't expect much — what a charming sentiment. She hangs up the phone with a smile that I don't know, returns to conversations with soothing tones, and so on. But left alone, don't know if I found soul or spite. Who were you talking to tonight? I'll tell you when the time is right..."

He hadn't really even realized he had been singing along. The music just took over him and flowed through his veins. When that happened, he couldn't help what he did. By now, Allen was silent, since there was just an instrumental part now.

Enelya couldn’t have asked for more. Allen’s smile was absolutely gorgeous, and his happiness gave her joy. If this was what made him happy, she’d have to suggest a trip to the music room more often. She definitely preferred that beautiful smile than his Tin Man persona. He was so cute when talking about his guitars like that… They really were a special thing if they kept him happy.

"Go ahead, you can touch it,"

Enelya smiled, and nodded, grateful that he trusted her enough to touch his beloved guitar. She continued her reach, and stroked the neck, and could almost see her reflection in the beautifully polished wood. She looked up at Allen, and her eyes seemed to sparkle with wonder. “It’s marvelous…” Allen continued to tell her he had others, but she doubted they were as pretty as this one was. Especially after he told her so. It would be very difficult to be better than this one.

He agreed to play something for her and Enelya clapped, and watched him as he moved to the desk, and started to strum. It was beautiful. The notes danced in the air, and formed a wonderful melody that seemed to entrance Enelya. She closed her eyes, and started to dance lightly. She spun in a circle, and waved her arms, and little flowers grew along her pathway, and she started to hum with his music.

Until he started to sing.

Enelya stopped dancing for a moment, and smiled as his voice spun more musical paintings in the air. She continued to dance, and felt like laughing, though she was afraid it would ruin the moment. He was happy, she was happy; it was so exciting.

The instrumental part began, and Enelya was lost in her dancing as he was in his playing. She hummed, and spun, and a little garden sprouted there in the music room as she had her eyes closed, dancing to his music. It was all very poetic indeed.

“It’s marvelous…”

He watched as her fingers went over the neck of his instrument. There was a slightball of nervousness twisting and ripping at his stomach, but he ignored it. Enelya wouldn't do anything to harm this guitar. If anything, she was probably making it better by blessing it with her Plant-Ladyness. As soon as she said it was marvelous, Allen really couldn't be happier. "I'm really glad you like it," he said to her.

Enelya then began to dance. Allen couldn't say he was paying attention, since he was really just concentrating on playing his music. He did catch a glimpse of her, though, along with the flowers that were growing where she stepped. Enelya really was something special. She was so carefree, so gentle and kind, so... beautiful. And even so, deep down, she had so many troubles — like the disappointment problem and the Botinates. The immortal would never understand how so many things could happen to her and yet she was still that cheerful soul who appreciated everything in life.

He watched her, though, during the instrumental part. "Enjoying yourself?" he questioned as she danced, smiling.

The music picked up again, and once again, he unknowingly began to sin. "Do you think you can deal with me? 'Cause all this may not be real. You never know — there might just be 7 other people here..." he went silent, since, well, he had kind of forgotten the words.

There was the final chorus, but he didn't sing along to that. He went a little bit slower with it so Enelya could dance a little bit more until it was over. Once it was over with, though, he looked to the Plant Lady and smiled a bit. "So, what did you think?" he asked her, wanting to know what she honestly thought about his musical skills.

"Enjoying yourself?"

Enelya stopped short for a moment, in mid pirouette, and she started to laugh. She nodded, and continued her flowing movements. Enelya spun her arms around gracefully as a yellow rose sprouted from the ground near Allen’s desk, and circled around the leg and up to where it was plainly in his sight. She continued to laugh, and spun around, and moved her hips in tune with the delightful music.

She wondered if he had made up the words, written them himself, or if they were from a favorite song of his. She listened to the words and thought about what they might mean. It definitely was not a happy and cheerful song, but a beautifully calming song nonetheless.

Accompanying him with her humming, she seemed to compliment his voice lightly through her own interpreted hums.

Allen finished his last few notes, and Enelya finished her dance with a final bow. She grinned, and looked up from the floor at Allen, with a pleased face. She straightened herself, and clapped excitedly. “Oh I loved it! It was perfect for dancing…. Did you write that yourself?”

Enelya still felt like dancing, and her feet refused to keep still, she continued to hum, and spun around. As she stopped, she stopped in front of Allen, and held out her hand. "Would you like to join me?"

Allen smiled a bit as he saw the rose spiral up the leg of the desk. Enelya really did have a beautiful ability. To be able to see all these things in nature that others couldn't was really something great. She had probably seen more in the world than he had, and that was really saying something.

“Oh I loved it! It was perfect for dancing…. Did you write that yourself?”

He smiled when Enelya bowed. He lifted the guitar and placed it gently on the floor, since he probably wouldn't be playing again. He had played one song, and he figured that was enough. If Enelya wanted to hear something else, though, then he would gladly continue to perform for her.

When asked if he had written that himself, Allen looked at her, an eyebrow raised. He snorted, shaking his head. "Oh, no," he said. "I don't write the songs. I just play them." He smiled a bit shyly. "I don't really have a talent for writing."

"Would you like to join me?"

The immortal blinked. She didn't seem to want to stop dancing, even though there was no music. He stared at her outstretched hand, then scratched the back of his head, biting his lip. "But if I join you, there won't be any music for you to dance to," Allen told her. "So go on, dance, I'll play something. I'm not much of a dancer anyway..." He looked at the guitar, ready to pick it up again when she answered.

Enelya shrugged, and smiled nonetheless at the news that he did not write his own songs. "Well, you preformed them wonderfully anyways!" Enelya walked over to him, and plucked the rose from the ground, and the stub instantly vanished. She wrapped the long stem around itself enough to fit around Allen's head. She grinned, and placed his rose crown upon his head lightly... So if he didn't like it he could easily take it off without ruining his hair.

"But if I join you, there won't be any music for you to dance to,"

Enelya grinned mischieviously, and took his hand. "That's why you dance to the music of your own heart, silly. Let it move you..." She closed her eyes as she gently tugged on Allen's wrist, tempting him to follow.

"So go on, dance, I'll play something. I'm not much of a dancer anyway..."

She laughed, and shook her head lightly, She gently put her hand on the guitar, setting it down, and pulled a little more on Allen's wrist. "You're not getting away that easily..."
