"Fire? Oh right, they'd use it for surface attacks," he jotted that down in his notes. He recalled reading some species actually had a weakness to fire. Mer-people were one thing, but then going deeper there were the unnamed races. Abyssal monstrosities that were every bit as old as they were intelligent. He'd love to be able to go down there one day.

"I bet the school has something set up when people want to go visit their folks," he leaned back in his chair and stretched. Probably had teleporters or a really skilled ship captain or pilot.

Iridian nodded, turning back to her notes quietly. She wanted to meet someone who had experienced such thing, but at a glance round, no ghosts were to be seen. Shame; primary sources were best to work off. Especially with monsters involved. In the normal world, things like the Kraken and the Loch Ness Monster were classed as fake and their sighters wannabes but here, anything was possible, and that made it ten times more dangerous.

"I don't mind much," she shrugged, looking up momentarily. "Both of us have things to do in life." Iridian was not too worried at the fact they no longer saw each other. Both were well, and so, it did not matter as much. She found this conversation slightly awkward. She believed it would hard to explain that they were never too far away in the world of the dead. With the right person, they were fine.

Travis looked up at his partner for a moment as he began to pick up on social cues. "Oh right, I guess I'm prying now, I'm sorry," he said. It really wasn't his business if people wanted to talk about their families or not. If they wanted to talk though, he'd be there to lend an ear. The chimera also factored in the fact that she was also a necromancer so she probably could call on past family members and loved ones at a moment's notice.

His eyes focused back on the project as it seemed to have taken a turn towards ocean and sea based supernatural life. He wondered if he could snag something if he got a boat and a fishing line. Probably not, but it was kind of fun to think about. "Reading stuff like this makes me wish my mother had fused me with more amphibious creatures. I mean flying is cool and all and so is breathing fire but seriously," his voice voice trailed off as he focused on the next page, which seemed to display the wide variety of sentient marine life all in one page.

"It's okay," she replied, keeping her eyes on the book, writing anything useful down. Iridian glanced at the clock and realised only an hour or so had passed. If she needed to, she'd work all night. But then done quite a lot already. It seemed there was Atlantis under the ocean. Was there a whole society in the sky, she wondered? Most likely not. She was distracting herself. Allowing her thoughts back to the book. Noting a few things down before looking up as Travis said something else. "The only amphibious creature I can think of is a frog. And I don't think you'd look right as a frog," she stated honestly. "And flying sounds awesome. Penguins would kill to be able to fly."

((Sorry, it's a little shorter than usual))

"Salamanders would work better and then add in something like a crab, maybe an octopus," he said noting his mother's research. "They're not impossible to make, it just depends on what's the base and everything." He found himself explaining how to properly cook up a creature like himself.

"But they're already like little torpedo birds," smirked at her remark about penguins. The idea of a flying penguin did sound amusing though. When he thought about it though, flying was a rather fun thing to do. Liberating may be considered a better term though. "I'm willing to put money on someone having a pet flying penguin on this island. But in the meantime if you ever wanna go flying just let me know. I give free rides," he flashed a fanged smile her direction.

"I think that amphibious creatures are freaky," Iridian admitted. They were slimy, to start with. She couldn't quite imagine Travis being like a frog, or salamander. It didn't seem right. But perhaps that was just because she didn't know Travis all that well.

She said nothing for a few moments. Penguins were cute to her, but then, she had seen Mr Popper's. Though when he mentioned a flying penguin pet, she wasn't betting. This was the place where impossible was possible. A flying penguin would be the norm for some. There were all sorts of crazy pets. "Probably. Who knows what pets people have here."

The next subject was one that caught her interest, though she hid it the best she could. Free rides, huh? Didn't sound extremely safe, and she got nauseous on the roof. She supposed it would be different if the wings were her own. Though it did sound fun to go flying. She noticed he was smiling - and she noticed he had fangs. She seemed to not pay much attention to his appearance because she didn't say much, but she gave him a smile back, enjoying the idea of flying herself.
